Because of difficulty of using Schauder's fixed point theorem to the polynomial-like iterative equation, a lots of work are contributed to the existence of solutions for the polynomial-like iterative equation on compact set. In this paper, by applying the Schauder-Tychonoff fixed point theorem we discuss monotone solutions and convex solutions of the polynomial-like iterative equation on an open set (possibly unbounded) in $\mathbb{R}^N$. More concretely, by considering a partial order in $\mathbb{R}^N$ defined by an order cone, we prove the existence of increasing and decreasing solutions of the polynomial-like iterative equation on an open set and further obtain the conditions under which the solutions are convex in the order.

The author devotes this paper to defining a new class of generalized soft open sets, namely soft somewhere dense sets and to investigating its main features. With the help of examples, we illustrate the relationships between soft somewhere dense sets and some celebrated generalizations of soft open sets, and point out that the soft somewhere dense subsets of a soft hyperconnected space coincide with the non-null soft ${\beta}$-open sets. Also, we give an equivalent condition for the soft csdense sets and verify that every soft set is soft somewhere dense or soft cs-dense. We show that a collection of all soft somewhere dense subsets of a strongly soft hyperconnected space forms a soft filter on the universe set, and this collection with a non-null soft set form a soft topology on the universe set as well. Moreover, we derive some important results such as the property of being a soft somewhere dense set is a soft topological property and the finite product of soft somewhere dense sets is soft somewhere dense. In the end, we point out that the number of soft somewhere dense subsets of infinite soft topological space is infinite, and we present some results which associate soft somewhere dense sets with some soft topological concepts such as soft compact spaces and soft subspaces.

The foreign concession of Yokohama was the first downtown formed through the open port of Yokohama. It became a stepping stone to the center of the market economy. Yokohama was regarded as the turning point of modernization in Japanese history and it reached the high light of modern city in Japan. In the nineteenth century the term "open port" which occurred in East Asia was directly connected with modernization. Nevertheless, there is not many researches on architectural history about the central space of the open port city. As the method of research, we examine the parcels and spatial changes that are based on the contents of maps and pictures in terms of architectural history. For the foreign concession that was set up in Yokohama and the first open port in Japan, the spatial scope was set for certain and the temporal range was also set from the setting of the concession in 1859 to the abolition in 1899. The purpose of this study is to consider the future research related to the study of the open port city from the perspective of comparative historical research.

Hearing impairment children possess poor underlying perceptual knowledge of the sound system and show delayed development of segmental organization of that system. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between phonological awareness ability and word identification ability in hearing impaired children. 14 children with moderately severe hearing loss participated in this study. All tasks were individually administered. Phonological awareness tests consisted of syllable blending, syllable segmentation, syllable deletion, body-coda discrimination, phoneme blending, phoneme segmentation and phoneme deletion. Close-set Monosyllabic Words(12 items) and lists 1 and 2 of open-set Monosyllabic Words in EARS-K were examined for word identification. Results of this study were as follows: First, from the phonological awareness task, the close-set word identification showed a high positive correlation with the coda discrimination, phoneme blending and phoneme deletion. The open-set word identification showed a high positive correlation with phoneme blending, phoneme deletion and phoneme segmentation. Second, from the level of phonological awareness, the close-set word identification showed a high positive correlation with the level of body-coda awareness and phoneme awareness while the open-set word identification showed a high positive correlation only with the level of phoneme awareness.

Recently, several open source codes for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) have been emerged and are spreading fast. Our group has chosen OpenFOAM as a platform to develop our own in-house code. In this paper, we would like to share the information on the codes and what we have experienced so far. We introduce several features of OpenFOAM, which include the performance compared with commercial packages, estimation for current user population and our own prospect for future improvement in performance and growth in user population. In addition, we briefly introduce our experience gained in embedding the level set method into the OpenFOAM.
