경부고속철도 회생 에너지 저장시스템 성능 분석 (Performance Analysis for Regenerative Energy Storage System in Kyoung-bu High Speed Railway)

  • Recently, various researches are conducted in the application of regenerative energy produced during the operation of an electric locomotive. Regenerative energy is produced by a generator in the brake procedure. The generator is operated by kinetic energy of an electric railroad using an electric motor. The process of producing regenerative energy varies with the current type of a railroad and its running condition. The quality of electric power can be improved and electric energy can be utilized effectively, especially in the use of an energy storage system (ESS). Thus, it is necessary to apply ESS into AC section and high speed railway. This study analyses the composition of the regenerative ESS equipment installed in Yong-Jeong sectioning post, operational principle, charge and discharge algorithm and energy efficiency. The analysis shows that CO2 emissions can be reduced about 0.5 ton per a day. In addition, ESS helps saving the energy and the compensation of the voltage drop caused by the operation of high speed train when it is installed at the end of the feeder section. The number of high speed train will be increased continuously related to the electrification rate. Therefore, applying the ESS to high speed railway is expected to solve the instability of the feeder voltage and the equipment capacity problem caused by the high speed trains.

Technical-Economical Evaluation of Chain Vertical Alignment in Underground Urban Subways: The Case of Qom Subway, Line A

  • Urban subways are one of the main parts of urban transportation networks in every city that always requires much attention in order to improve its efficiency in aspects of safety, reliability speed and costs. As the viewpoint of costs, an accurate design, especially design of vertical alignment, can have a dominant role to reduce the costs of urban railway projects. This paper seeks to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of designing chain vertical alignment for urban subways in compare to flat vertical alignment. To achieve this goal, line A of Qom subway in Iran was selected as a case study in this research. Five parameters considered in the technical-economical evaluation: (1) energy consumption, (2) rolling stock, (3) operation, (4) civil works and geotechnical and (5) hydrological, drainage and pumping. According to the results, a power saving of about 40% have been estimated in the chain vertical alignment for the train without regenerative braking in compare with the flat vertical alignment, although the power saving was calculated less than 10% for the train with regenerative braking. Finally it was found that due to the modern rolling stock technology, the chain vertical alignment represents fewer advantages in compare to the past years.

고효율 고역률 LED 조명장치용 전원공급장치 (High Efficiency and High Power-Factor Power Supply for LED Lighting Equipment)

  • 본 논문에서는 고효율 고역률 LED 조명장치용 전원공급장치를 제안한다. 제안한 전원공급장치는 풀브리지 다이오드 정류기와 플라이백 컨버터로 구성된 단일단 전력구조이며, 이에 따라 하나의 제어기 IC와 하나의 전력반도체스위치만을 사용하여 역률개선과 출력전압조정을 동시에 수행한다. 또한 제안한 전원공급장치는 회생스너버를 이용하여 주스위치의 전압스트레스와 스위칭손실을 감소시키며, 동기정류기를 이용하여 시스템 효율을 향상한다. 적용된 동기정류기는 새로운 전압구동형이며 동작과 구성이 간단하다. 본 논문에서는 역률개선부와 주전력변환부의 동작분석을 통하여 제안한 전원공급장치의 동작원리를 설명하고 동기정류기의 동작에 관하여 간략하게 설명한다. 또한 40W급 프로토타입 전력회로의 설계예시를 제시하며, 설계된 회로파라미터들에 의해 제작된 프로토타입의 실험 결과를 통하여 제안한 전원공급장치의 동작특성을 입증한다.

  • Forced commutated cycloconverters are capable of conversion from a fixed 3 phase source to 3 phase unrestricted variable frequency, variable voltage. They are able to accept regenerative power and the input displacement factor is controllable. Furthermore, the input current and the output current waveforms are closed to sinusoid.

  • Constant load model is generally used for an electric train to perform the static analysis of AT feeding systems. In this model, the train will be considered as a constant load model when it drives or as a constant source model when it applies regenerative brake. However there must be some voltage constraints on the catenary in actual operations. These constraints are established for the reason of protecting the feeding facilities from excessive rise of regenerative braking voltage or guaranteeing the minimum traction power of train. In normal operating situation, the pantagraph voltage of the train should be maintained within these limits. Keeping these facts in minds, we suggest new methods of analyzing AT feeding systems using the constant power models with the conditions of voltage constraints. The simulation results from a sample system using the proposed method illustrate both the states of system variables and the supply-demand relation of power among the trains and the systems very clearly, so it is believed that the proposed method yields more accurate results than conventional methods do. The proposed methods are believed to contribute to the assessment of TCR-TSC for compensating reactive powers too.

전기자동차용 기계적 에너지 회생장치 (Kinetic Energy Recovery System for Electric Vehicles)

  • This paper presents a new regenerative brake system of electric vehicles that employs a continuous variable transmission(CVT) and a flywheel. The developed device has advantages over existing regenerative brakes from a standpoint of reliability and versatility in actual driving conditions. The system consists of a CVT, two wheels, a flywheel, a coupling and auxiliary powertrain components. The CVT is designed as a combination of two cones and a roller, which causes the velocity difference between the wheel and the flywheel. The power flow of the flywheel system is controlled by the CVT roller and the coupling through step motors. A prototype has been developed and then its performance has been investigated for various operating conditions. Results show that the storage efficiency of the flywheel is much affected by the vehicle's velocity and it is reduced below 20% for high speed, as compared to the 25% efficiency for an ideal condition. The CVT is a primary factor for lowering the flywheel efficiencies due to large friction and slipping between the cone and the roller.

상온 능동형 자기 재생 냉동기의 개발 (Development of the active magnetic regenerative refrigerator for room temperature application)

  • In this paper, an investigation of a room temperature active magnetic regenerative refrigerator is carried out. Experimental apparatus includes two active magnetic regenerators containing 186 g of Gd spheres. Four E-type thermocouples are installed inside the Active magnetic regenerator(AMR) to observe the instantaneous temperature variation of AMR. Both warm and cold heat exchangers are designed for large temperature span. The cold heat exchanger, which separates the two AMRs, employs a copper tube with length of 80 mm and diameter of 6.35 mm. In order to minimize dead volume between the warm heat exchanger and AMRs, the warm heat exchangers are located close to the AMRs. The deionized water is used as a heat transfer fluid, and maximum 1.4 T magnetic field is supplied by Halbach array of permanent magnets. The AMR plate, which contains the warm and the cold heat exchangers and the AMRs, has reciprocating motion using a linear actuator and each AMR is alternatively magnetized and demagnetized by a Halbach array of permanent magnet. Since the gap of the Halbach array of permanent magnets is 25 mm and two warm heat exchangers have the motion through it, a compact printed circuit heat exchanger (PCHE) is used as a warm heat exchanger. A maximum no-load temperature span of 26.8 K and a maximum cooling power of 33 W are obtained from the fabricated Active Magnetic Regenerative Refrigerator (AMRR).

재생 OFDMA 중계 네트워크에서의 공평한 중계기 선택 (Fair Relay Selection in Regenerative OFDMA Relay Network)

  • 본 논문은 공평성 제한(fairness constraint)이 존재하는 재생(regenerative) 직교 주파수 분할 다중 접속 (OFDMA: Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) 중계 네트워크(relay network)에서 새로운 적응 중계기 선택(adaptive relay selection) 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법에서 K 개의 중계기 중 시스템 용량(system capacity)을 최대화하는 M 개의 중계기를 선택한다. 선택된 중계기 사이에서는 공평성 제한을 만족하면서 시스템 성능 열화(system performance degradation)를 최소화하도록 부반송파를 재할당(subcarrier reallocation)한다. 그런 다음 보다 향상된 성능을 얻기 위해 워터필링(water-filling) 방법을 통한 적응적 전력할당이 이루어진다. 시스템 용량과 공평성 사이의 트레이드오프(trade-off) 관계를 이용하여 제안된 기법의 개선 방법 또한 연구되었다.

  • A novel soft-switching two-switch flyback converter is proposed in this paper. This converter is composed of two active power switches, a flyback transformer, and two passive regenerative clamping circuits.The proposed converter has the advantages of a low cost circuit configuration, a simple control scheme, a high efficiency, and a wide operating range. The circuit topology and experimental results of the new flyback converter are presented.

IEEE 802.16e Mobile WiMAX용 고효율 고출력 하이브리드 포락선 제거 및 복원 전력 송신기 (Highly Efficient High Power Hybrid EER Transmitter for IEEE 802.16e Mobile WiMAX Application)

  • 본 논문에서는 효율이 특화된 전력 증폭기를 이용하여 IEEE 802.16e Mobile WiMAX용 고출력 하이브리드 포락선 제거 및 복원 전력 송신기에 대해 기술하였다. Nitronex사의 100-W PEP를 갖는 GaN HEMT 소자를 이용하여 중요한 전력 생성 $V_{ds}$ 구간에 대하여 최대 PAE를 가질 수 있도록 전력 증폭기를 설계하였다. 고출력 응용을 위해서 하이브리드 포락선 제거 및 복원 전력 송신기를 전력 증폭기의 bias fluctuation 문제 및 바이어스 변조기의 stability 문제에 의한 regenerative 오실레이션 문제를 반드시 고려하여 설계되어야 한다. 연동 실험을 위하여, 8.5 dB의 PAPR을 갖는 포락선 신호에 대해 바이어스 변조기는 30 V의 최대 출력 전압 크기를 가지면서 72 %의 높은 효율을 유지하도록 구현되었다. WiMAX 신호를 목표로 구현된 하이브리드 포락선 제거 및 복원 전력 송신기는 41.25 dBm의 출력 전력에서 38.8%의 놓은 PAE 성능을 얻었다. 또한, 디지털 전치 왜곡 기술을 적용함으로써 전력 송신기의 RCE 성능은 -34.5 dB를 기록하여 WiMAX 신호의 선형화 지표를 만족시킬 수 있었다. 본 연구는 2.655 GHz 주파수 대역에서 처음으로 구현된 WiMAX용 고출력 하이브리드 포락선 제거 및 복원 전력 송신기에 관한 것이다.
