The purpose of this study is to elucidate mutual link of a person's human nature and his or her sense of values. In general, a person's human nature and his or her personality is used differently in its concept. However, in this study, it is revealed that these two things are closely connected. A person's human nature without personality is meaningless and personality without human nature cannot be existed. A person's human nature is the ground for existence of personality and personality is individual thing that is made on the universal ground of human nature. Personality is colligation of value that a person pursues. Every person pursues value. Therefore every person cannot help being personality. However personality is not a joint thing but an individual thing. Spiritual-philosophically, personality is exactly individual spirit. Therefore personality cannot be classified as personality or impersonality. It can be classified as high-leveled personality or low-leveled personality. And the foundation for existence of morality lies not on a person's human nature but on a person's personality. A person can be moral or immoral according to the value he pursues. Because personality is made on the basis of a person's human nature and the colligation of value that an individual person pursues is personality, a person's human nature is a vessel that contains his or her sense of values. A person's human nature and his or her sense of values are changed affecting each other. These two things are the sons of the age that is affected by the age. That's because human who is a container of human nature and his or her sense of values is both a natural being and a moral being.
Human being can't live without nature, then the changes of nature affect human body. It means that human body has corresponding changes to the KI(vital energy) of nature. There is a stream of changes in human body which circulate mysteriously and punctually by the laws of nature. If this stream of changes fits into human's life style, it would be most effective. It has a certain mode continuously. So if a person has a habit fitting into it, he will get the healthiest body. Then the researcher tries to explain the changes in human body by the time, mainly focused on within 24 hours. it is showing not only the oriental view, but also the western's. The researcher can find the coincidence as followings. At In-Si(3-5 am), the body function and the body temperature get to the bottom, therefore it's good for him to wake up and to run the vital energy. At Sa-Si(9-11 am), the patience on pain anxiety and the psychic concentration get to the top, he'd better start the work. At O-Si(11am-1pm), the heart energy has a vital move, then the blood concentration of Hb(hemoglobin) gets to the top. At Mi-Si(1-3 pm), the muscle strength, the squeeze, and the breathing rate increase. The reflex nerve sensitivity gets to the top. Creativity, observation, and working efficiency go high, so it's time to work hard. At Hae-Si(9pm-1am), the body function falls, sleeping is needed. At Chuck-Si(1-3 am), the cell spontaneity gets to the top, immune lymphocyte moves actively, and the blood concentration of growth hormone gets to the top. These are liver's work. In west, there has been active studies on how to reduce the side effect by using a person's bio-rhythm based on the 'time treatment', and how to reorganize the bio-rhythm by using the machine and the age resistance based on the 'bio-watch'. Though the 'time treatment' means something, the artificial resistance on bio-rhythm seems to give bad effects to human body. If a person lives by regimen of oriental medicine, he will maintain the healthiest body. Regimen is that human body follows the laws of nature, and moves its mysterious, Punctual and periodical changes.
It seems to be difficult to bridge between human and nature. All depictions of nature are not necessarily reflections of reality. Thoughts are projected into nature, then nature will reflect us. The world is composed of natural and cultural environment. There are differences between depiction of nature based on correspondence and construction of world. Environmental aesthetics is an emerging field of study that focuses on nature's aesthetic value as well as on its ethical and environmental implications. Allen Carlson, a pioneer in environmental aesthetics, provides challenges as well as a wealth of resources for those who would appropriate his ideas in the service of environmental protection. Carlson's positive aesthetics, his focus on the functionality of human environments, and his integration of aesthetics and ethics have great import for those seeking to use aesthetics to assist in addressing environmental controversies. Environmental ethics would benefit from taking environmental aesthetics more seriously. Environmental aesthetics is an emerging discipline that explores the meaning and influence of environmental perception and experience on human life. Arguing for the idea that environment is not merely a setting for people but fully integrated and continuous with us, Arnold Berleant explores the aesthetic dimensions of the human-environment continuum in both theoretical terms and concrete situations. Aesthetic experience is always contextual. The aesthetic aspect of any human habitat is an essential part of its desirability. The aesthetic perception of environment shows us the reciprocity that constitutes both person and place. The genuine beauty lies in the coexistence and harmony with natural environment.
The moral categories in the Mengzi have a close affinity with those of Kongzi. Mengzi fostered the Kongzi's teaching on virtuous rule and moral government, and taught benevolent government based on the virtue of benevolence. Mengzi set up a basis for Confucian teaching on human nature, and his teaching of the essential goodness of human nature has been accepted by most Confucian intellectuals. This study explores the Mengzi's teaching of moral education focussing on his instructional method to expand the goodness of human nature. Instructional method refers to educator-centered transmission of values, and it concerns mainly on how to deliver the educational goal and content meaningfully to the educatee. The main concerns of Mengzi's instructional method are teaching-standard setup, delivery of lecture key points, understanding of students' talent and situation, and encouragement of students' initiative. These points are all based on Mengzi's assertion of good human nature, and aim at forming a ideal personality. Confucian ideas of education lie in raising the well-rounded person through moral education. The well-rounded person can be characterized by noble men and sages with benevolence and righteousness. This means that the ultimate goal of well-rounded education is to lead people to attain the sublime moral stage through education.
The tactile sensor of the future robot is becoming a necessity as a sensory organ which can communicate with the person most directly. Recently, the Nature-inspired technology has provided a new direction for the development of these tactile sensors. Here, we review three different nature-inspired tactile sensory system; high sensitivity pressure sensor inspired by beetle wings, highly sensitive strain sensor inspired by the spider's sensory organs, Tactile sensor inspired by human fingertip. These nature-inspired tactile sensors are expected to provide a breakthrough that not only can sensitively measure the pressure, but also delicately recognize the softness and texture of the material just like human.
Cheng Yi(程?, 1033~1107) understood that nature is full of "changes(易)". And he noted that human being as part of nature also exists only in a series of changes, i.e. birth, growth, extinction and death. All things including human being arise from the same principle, or "Heavenly Principle." Hence human being can fundamentally be one with all other beings, or nature. It is called "Unity of all things(萬物一體)" and "Unity of heaven and human(天人合一)." This philosophical perspective cannot be regarded as being unique to Cheng only; neo-Confucian predecessors called "the five masters of the Northern Song(北宋五子)" anticipated Cheng's vision already. Nevertheless, Cheng elaborated on the shared vision, revealing his philosophical uniqueness. Cheng maintains that only human being receives the principle in the unstained form, and thereby is capable of being one with nature. The one who realizes her/his potential to be one with nature is a sage(聖人); for Cheng, the order and pattern found in nature is nothing other than moral principle that human beings have to live up to and vice versa. Cheng's idea on the principle which human being receives from Heaven no doubt relates to Mencian notion of the innate goodness of human nature(性善); the innate goodness of human nature is no other than Heavenly Principle, and to become a sage depends on whether one can realize her/his potential - human nature, i.e. Heavenly Principle in her/himself. For Cheng, human nature tantamount to Heavenly Principle has no evil quality; all the evil in the world comes from imperfect "physical endowment(氣質)," or "capacity(才)" which is various from person to person, making various personalities. Accordingly, the task of moral cultivation in Cheng's theory can translate into the matter of rectification of one's physical endowment.
This paper aims to examine a truth about love - the close relationship between a person's passionate love and that same person's loneliness and suppressed desires, a relationship that Carson McCullers (1917-1967) portrays in The Ballad of the Sad Cafe. McCullers, one of several brilliant writers from Southern America, managed to overcome her cruel situation and showed deep insight into the human condition, particularly in regard to the relation between love and isolation. The Ballad of the Sad Cafe, like her other works, examines the spiritual isolation and the agony of love that three lovers experience. The love in this story is a triangular relationship among the three main characters, Amelia, Lymon and Marvin Macy. The distinctive characteristics of love described in this story are that each character falls into blind and passionate love for the person he/she loves, no matter how the beloved responds. Love also changes the lover, not the beloved, revealing the completely opposite nature of the lover. The opposite nature and the inner secrets that the love reveals about the lovers reflect their frustrated and suppressed desires, which is femininity and motherhood for Amelia, non-violent masculine power for Macy, and physical attraction and power for the hunchback, Lymon. These suppressed desires are rooted in the deep sense of frustration that they had to experience in their childhood. In short, the seemingly unconditional love of the main characters is not an ideal, altruistic love, but a reflection of their inner desires. This story, however, does not seem to criticize this kind of love but simply tries to give an honest picture of what love might be. It also admits that 'deformed' love is still better than no love (and consequently no stimulus) because what really damages and causes decay in human beings and in a community, is the state of boredom.
Can the appropriately programmed computer think?I analyse,in this paper, argugments for and against strong AI-thesis,basically Turing's argument and Searle's chinese room argument.Through a cirtical review of these arguments, I try to show that the supportes of Al-thesis like Turing fail to explain the subjective nature of human consciousness. However,I do not think that subjective consciousness is a necessary condition for the ability to understand language.(In this respect my views are different from Searle's). But when we consider the conditions of humans as language users,we should presuppose that a human being is the unity of body and mind (or consciousness). Therefore, our subjective consciousness, together with human body(thus, way of our behavior and life). serve as a mark of person.
Daesoon Jinrihoe makes use of The Canonical Scripture as the main body to explain their thinking regarding divine beings and humankind as it relates to doctrine, sacredness, religiousness and other such contents. The traditional meaning of divine beings and humankind through the interpretation of The Canonical Scripture, transcends ethics, tradition, sociality, and the ultimate concern of secularity. The analysis from the perspective of The Canonical Scripture can help readers to understand the purpose of Daesoon Jinrihoe's implementation of its policies and their future direction. The local church takes the Bible as its main body and connects God with man as an implantation of divine life and temperament that harmonizes itself with human life and nature. The divine life is constantly reconciled with one's human life to make one a holy person, or a humanistic diviner. This is the rationale of the 'God-Man,' those whose human lives become lives of God-men. This style of living enables divine nature to mingle with human nature as an explicit behavioral act, mode of character development, and lifestyle. Therefore, the expression "the Blending of God and man" is an interpretation of the relationship between God and man which focuses on their sacred connection. Engagement in this extends to the scope of the local church. The different divisions between Daesoon Jinrihoe and the local church appear on the basis of things such as history, culture, language, and religion, but both posit a theology of "Harmonious Union between Divine Beings and Human Beings" and "the Blending of God and man" according to a transcendent interpretation of God and man. Through dialogue, they can discover similarities and differences in this shared notion with both systems of theological thought.
The purpose of this study was to identify the producing process for Korean nursing knowledge as applied by Foucault's discourse analytic method. By Foucault's discourse analytic method, the problem is not what is knowledge but what sort of knowledge is made up through specific level of practice. A Korean body of nursing knowledge has been discussed since 1980. At the end of 19th century, missionaries transplanted western nursing knowledge and method to Korea. Western nursing knowledge and methods have been developed continuously with both merits and demerits to Korean society. Recently our world has be come a global community via advances in transportation and correspondence. Although each person is different in skin color and shape. there is a clear line between Oriental people and Western people. Nursing science is only one in our world. but western humanistic nursing practice based on western worldview and human life has limits. It is natural that the Koreans as Oriental people have a systemic nursing science to reveal the specific experiential and concrete body of nursing knowledge rooted in the Korean worldview and human life. Nursing science is to understand human beings, to promote health. to prevent illness. to restore health. to alleviate suffering and to search for principles needed throughout all of human life. In Korea, now is the quickening period to shape a Korean body of nursing knowledge because of a shortage of nursing language in matters of intellectual recognition, and unfamiliar practical nursing field where there is no familiarity in the system of nursing research methodology. In reviewing articles from the Journal of the Nurses' Academic Society on Korean body of nursing knowledge, it was found that there are two common features. The first, human body and mind are inseperable that is one unit in this world and health is keeping a harmonious relationship between human body and mind. The second, Korean nursing practice is based on human nature and family ties. Accordingly discourse analysis has a good future prospect to produce a Korean body of nursing knowledge for analytic research on body and mind monism and family centered care based on human nature and family ties.
