The complexity of path planning for visiting multiple mission points is even larger than that of single pair path planning. Deciding a path for visiting n mission points requires conducting $n^2+n$ times of single pair path planning. We propose Multiple Mission $D^*$ Lite($MMD^*L$) which is an optimal path planning algorithm for visiting multiple mission points in dynamic environments. $MMD^*L$ reduces the complexity by reusing the computational data of preceding single pair path planning. Simulation results show that the complexity reduction is significant while its path optimality is not compromised.
A path planning is one of the main subjects in a mobile robot. It is divided into two parts. One is a global path planning and another is a local path planning. This paper, using the formal two methods, presents that the mobile robot moves to multi-targets with avoiding unknown obstacles. For the shortest time and the lowest cost, the mobile robot has to find a optimal path between targets. To find a optimal global path, we used GA(Genetic Algorithm) that has advantage of optimization. After finding the global path, the mobile robot has to move toward targets without a collision. FLC(Fuzzy Logic Controller) is used for local path planning. FLC decides where and how faster the mobile robot moves. The validity of the study that searches the shortest global path using GA in multi targets and moves to targets without a collision using FLC, is verified by simulations.

This paper proposes a new technique that produces improved local information using a low-cost GPS/INS system combined with Extended Kalman Filter and Path Planning when a Quad-rotor flies. In the research, a low-cost GPS is combined with INS by Extended Kalman Filter to improve local information. However, this system has disadvantages in that estimation accuracy is getting worsens when the Quad-rotor flies through the air in a curve and precision of location information is influenced by performance of the used GPS. An algorithm based on Path Planning is adopted to deal with these weaknesses. When the Quad-rotor flies outdoors, a short moving path can be predicted because all short moving paths of quad-rotor can be assumed to be straight. Path planning is used to make the short moving path and determine the closest local information of data of the GPS/INS system to location determined by path planning. Through the foregoing process, improved local data is obtained when the quad-rotor flies, and the performance of the proposed system is verified from various outdoor experiments.
This paper presents a study of path-planning method for AGV(automated guided vehicle) based on path-tracking. It is important to find an optimized path among the AGV techniques. This is due to the fact that the AGV is conditioned to follow the predetermined path. Consequently, the path-planning method is implemented directly affects the whole AGV operation in terms of its performance efficiency. In many existing methods are used optimization algorithms to find optimized path. However, such methods are often prone with problems in handling the issue of inefficiency that exists in system's operation due to inherent undue time delay created by heavy load of complex computation. To solve such problems, we offer path-planning method using modified binary tree. For the purpose of our experiment, we initially designed a AGV that is equiped with laser navigation, two encoders, a gyro sensor that is meant to be operated within actual environment with given set of constrictions and layout for the AGV testing. The result of our study reflects the fact that within such environments, the proposed method showed improvement in its efficiency in finding optimized path.

Path planning is a key element in navigation of a mobile robot. Several algorithms such as a gradient method have been successfully implemented so for. Although the gradient method can provide the global optimal path, it computes the navigation function over the whole environment at all times, which result in high computational cost. This paper proposes a high-speed path planning scheme, called a gradient method with topological information, in which the search space for computation of a navigation function can be remarkably reduced by exploiting the characteristics of the topological information reflecting the topology of the navigation path. The computing time of the gradient method with topological information can therefore be significantly decreased without losing the global optimality. This reduced path update period allows the mobile robot to find a collision-free path even in the dynamic environment.

In this paper, we propose a new method of path planning for autonomous mobile robot in mapped circumstance. To search the optimal path, we adopt the genetic algorithm which is based on the natural mechanics of selection, crossover and mutation. We propose a method for generating the path population, selection and evaluation in genetic algorithm. Simulations show the efficiency for the global path planning, if we adopt the proposed GA method
An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) is a powered pilotless aircraft, which is controlled remotely or autonomously. UAVs are currently employed in many military missions(surveillance, reconnaissance, communication relay, targeting, strike etc.) and a number of civilian applications(communication service, broadcast service, traffic control support, monitoring, measurement etc.). For accomplishing the UAV's missions, guarantee of survivability should be preceded. The main objective of this study is the path planning to maximize survivability for UAV based on 3-dimensional environment. A mathematical programming model is suggested by using MRPP(Most Reliable Path Problem) and solved by transforming MRPP into SPP(Shortest Path Problem). This study also suggests a $A^*PS$ algorithm based on 3-dimensional environment to UAV's path planning. According to comparison result of the suggested algorithm and SPP algorithms (Dijkstra, $A^*$ algorithm), the suggested algorithm gives better solution than SPP algorithms.
In this paper, two Fuzzy Logics for path planning of an autonomous mobile robot are proposed. If a target point is given, such problems regarding the velocity and object recognition are closely related with path to which the mobile robot navigates. Therefore, to ensure safety navigation of the mobile robot for two fuzzy logic parts, path planning considering the surrounding environment was performed in this paper. First, feature points for local and global path are determined by utilizing Cell Decomposition off-line computation. Second, the on-line robot using two Fuzzy Logics navigates around path when it tracks the feature points. We demonstrated optimized path planning only for local path using object recognition fuzzy logic corresponds to domestic situation. Furthermore, when navigating, the robot uses fuzzy logic for velocity and target angle. The proposed algorithms for path planning has been implemented and tested with pioneer-dxe mobile robot.
This research is to select a path planning algorithm to maximize survivability for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV). An UAV is a powered pilotless aircraft, which is controlled remotely or autonomously. UAVs are currently employed in many military missions(surveillance, reconnaissance, communication relay, targeting, strike etc.) and a number of civilian applications(communication service, broadcast service, traffic control support, monitoring, measurement etc.). In this research, a mathematical programming model is suggested by using MRPP(Most Reliable Path Problem) and verified by using ILOG CPLEX. A path planning algorithm for UAV is selected by comparing of SPP(Shortest Path Problem) algorithms which transfer MRPP into SPP.
In this paper, we deal with a novel path planning algorithm to find collision-free path for a moving robot to find an appropriate path from initial position to goal position. The robot should make progress by avoiding obstacles located at unknown position. Such problem is called the path planning. We propose so called the subgoal generation algorithm to find an effective collision-free path. The generation and selection of the subgoal are the key point of this algorithm. Several subgoals, if necessary, are generated by analyzing the map information. The subgoal is the candidate for the final path to be pass through. Then selection algorithm is executed to choose appropriate subgoal to construct a correct path. Deep and through explanations are given for the proposed algorithm. Simulation example is given to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
