Dispersion-Managed Link Configured with Repetitively Shaped Dispersion Maps and Embedded with Mid-span Spectral Inversion

  • A dispersion map was proposed to improve the compensation effect of a distorted WDM (wavelength division multiplexed) channel in a dispersion-managed link coupled with optical phase conjugation. The dispersion map is an origin-symmetric structure around the optical phase conjugator in the middle of the transmission path. In addition, the dispersion map has a form in which a constant dispersion accumulation pattern is repeated regularly. Through simulation, we confirmed that the application of the origin-symmetric dispersion map with a repetitively shaped configuration was more effective in compensating for the distorted WDM channel than in the dispersion-managed link with a conventional dispersion map. In addition, we confirmed that the compensation effect could be increased when the cumulative dispersion distribution of the origin-symmetric distribution map had a positive value in the first half section and a negative value in the second half section. Further, we observed that as the number of repeated dispersion accumulation patterns increased, the residual dispersion per span should also be increased.

Circle Map를 활용한 초등학교 과학수업이 학습 동기와 학업성취도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Elementary Science Teaching Program with Circle Map on Learning Motive and Learning Achievement)

  • In this study, to raise the scientific literacy for students, the teaching and learning program was developed by applying the Circle Map. The purpose of this study was to find out the Effect of Elementary Science Teaching Program with Circle Map on Learning Motive and Learning Achievement. To this end, the 6th grade classroom of A-elementary school located in Jeju-city was selected the experimental group (25 patients). And the other 6th grade classroom in the same school was selected to the comparative group (25 patients). The experimental group was conducted applying the Circle Map. Comparison group has been conducted lesson program in accordance with the general science class teacher guide. Was through a pre-test of science learning motivation and academic achievement level can be assumed in the same group. After completing the experimental treatment by conducting a post-mortem examination was statistically validated. In this study, the following conclusions were obtained. First, elementary science class which applied Circle Map had the effect of to improve the scientific motivation(p <.05). In particular, association in the experimental group were higher than the scores of the comparative group, the difference was significant. Second, the Circle Map applied to elementary science class had a significant effect on improving science achievement. The experimental group which applied Circle Map was higher than the comparative group in science achievement post-test comparison. Between the groups showed a significant difference between the two groups(p <.05). The above findings, Elementary science class which applied Circle Map can be concluded to be effective in science and science achievement motivation. Therefore, applying the Circle Map of elementary science class could be useful in science teaching and learning methods. In addition, when it is determined through the previous study, applying the Circle Map classes will be able to derive a meaningful learning also subjected to a number of fields and areas.

단일 영상에서 디포커스 맵을 활용한 보케 효과 알고리즘 (Bokeh Effect Algorithm using Defocus Map in Single Image)

  • Bokeh effect is a stylistic technique that can produce blurring the background of photos. This paper implements to produce a bokeh effect with a single image by post processing. Generating depth map is a key process of bokeh effect, and depth map is an image that contains information relating to the distance of the surfaces of scene objects from a viewpoint. First, this work presents algorithms to determine the depth map from a single input image. Then, we obtain a sparse defocus map with gradient ratio from input image and blurred image. Defocus map is obtained by propagating threshold values from edges using matting Laplacian. Finally, we obtain the blurred image on foreground and background segmentation with bokeh effect achieved. With the experimental results, an efficient image processing method with bokeh effect applied using a single image is presented.

Max-Log-MAP 방식을 이용한 M-ary QAM Demapper의 성능 (Performance of M-ary QAM demapper with Max-Log-MAP)

  • 본 논문에서는 Max-Log-MAP 방식을 이용하여 M-ary QAM Demapper를 구성하고 이 출력을 터보 복호기에 입력시켜 반복 복호 결과를 보인다. Demapper는 일반적으로 널리 사용되는 Max-Log-MAP 방식과 이 방식의 구현 복잡도를 줄인 근사형 수식을 이용하고 실제 설계 방안도 제시한다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 결과 Max-Log-MAP 방식에 비해 근사형 방식은 성능의 저하를 보이지만 설계 복잡도가 낮은 장점을 가지고 있다.

  • Map building is essential to a mobile robot navigation system. Localization and path planning methods depend on map building strategies. A topological map is commonly constructed using the GVG(Generalized Voronoi Graph). The advantage of the GVG based topological map is compactness. But the GVG method have many difficulties because it consists of collision-free path. In this paper, we proposed an extended map building method, the AVG (Areal Voronoi Graph) based topological map. The AVG based topological map consists of collision-free area. This feature can improve map building, localization and path planning performance.

The uniform laws of large numbers for the chaotic logistic map

  • The standard logistic map is an iterative function, which forms a discrete-time dynamic system. The chaotic logistic map is a kind of ergodic map defined over the unit interval. In this paper we study the limiting behaviors on the several processes induced by the chaotic logistic map. We derive the law of large numbers for the process induced by the chaotic logistic map. We also derive the uniform law of large numbers for this process. When deriving the uniform law of large numbers, we study the role of bracketing of the indexed class of functions associated with the process. Then we apply the idea of DeHardt (1971) associated with the bracketing method to the process induced by the logistic map. We finally illustrate an application to Monte Carlo integration.

  • Recently, the Z-Map model has been used widely to represent the three dimensional geometric shape and to achieve the cross-section and point evaluation of the shape. In this paper, the CNC cutting planning and simulation modules for product with three dimensional geometric shape are realized based on the Z-Map model. The realized system has the various capabilities related to the automatic generation of tool path for the rough and finish cutting processes, the automatic elimination of overcut, the automatic generation of CNC program for a machining center and the cutting simulation. Especially, the overcut-free tool path is obtained by using the CL Z-Map models which are composed of the offset surfaces of the geometric shape of product.

깊이맵 생성 알고리즘의 합성곱 신경망 구현 (Implementing a Depth Map Generation Algorithm by Convolutional Neural Network)

  • 깊이맵은 현재 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있다. 이러한 깊이맵을 인공 신경망으로 생성하는 연구가 최근 관심을 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 기 제작된 깊이맵 생성 알고리즘을 합성곱 신경망으로 구현할 수 있는지에 대한 타당성을 검증한다. 먼저 깊이맵은 관심맵과 운동 히스토리 영상의 가중치 합으로 얻는다. 실험영상과 깊이맵을 합성곱 신경망의 입력과 출력으로 하여, 신경망을 학습시킨다. 정성적, 정량적 실험 결과는 제안한 합성곱 신경망이 깊이맵 생성 방법을 대체할 수 있다는 것을 보여준다.

거칠기맵과 편향맵을 이용한 지형 렌더링 가법 (A Terrain Rendering Method using Roughness Map and Bias Map)

  • 최근의 지형시각화 연구에서는 대용량 데이터를 실시간에 처리하기 위하여 여러 가지 상세단계조절 기법을 사용한다. 하지만 상세단계조절을 통한 메쉬 간략화 과정에서 발생하는 기하오차 때문에 연속된 프레임에서 기하파핑 현상이 열어난다. 본 논문에서는 거칠기맵과 편향맵을 이용하여 기하파핑 현상을 효과적으로 줄일 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 거칠기맵과 편향맵은 지형 메쉬를 구성하는 정점이 적은 기하오차를 가지는 위치로 이동 시켜주는 역할을 한다. 거칠기맵과 편향맵은 텍스쳐로 저장되기 때문에 GPU에서 사용하기 적합하다. 또한 편향맵을 이용한 정점 이동 연산은 GPU에서 수행되므로 병렬처리를 통한 빠른 시각화가 가능하다.

  • 본 논문에서는 Hadoop MapReduce 병렬 분산 컴퓨팅 환경을 이용해 개발한 공간 지식 추출기를 제안한다. 이 공간 지식 추출기는 대용량의 공간 데이터 집합으로부터, 임의의 두 공간 객체들 사이에 만족되는 위상 관계와 방향 관계를 나타내는 정성 공간 지식 베이스를 생성해낸다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 MapReduce 기반의 대용량 공간 지식 추출기 MRSPAKE는 HDFS 상의 분산 공간 데이터 파일에 대한 R 트리 색인과 범위 질의들을 이용함으로써, 웹 규모의 정성 공간 지식 베이스를 매우 효율적으로 추출해낸다. 대표적인 공개 데이터 집합인 Open Street Map(OSM)을 이용한 성능 분석 실험을 통해, 본 논문에서 제안하는 웹 규모의 공간 지식 추출기 MRSPAKE의 높은 성능과 확장성을 확인할 수 있었다.
