Hair style takes a large part in emphasizing to the appearance and the effect of image transformation with fashion to the modern people whose competition is appearance in 21 century. According to the development of mass media and the exchange of the life style. Image creation which correspond to T.P.O is needed and style-up is also required in modern costume, as the coordination for special day is routinized. In this study, the expression of a fine and organic line shown as a motive in Art Nouveau style's works is applied to style-up design and a new view sight to the style-up design through the art history is suggested with developing style-up design to satisfy the upgraded customer's requirements. The feminine beauty is appeared as a various image by applying style-up design from Art Nouveau style through this study. and the infinite possibility to the design development can be found with activated motive of Art Nouveau. These Art Nouveau trend will be a foundation to the inspiration of high artistic design and will be helpful to the aesthetic satisfaction of the elegance modern people. Therefore, I hope this study will be a fundamental data for creative development of hair design through the art history which may be forgetting.

Design style is studied to examine the design essence more clearly which is revealed as a formative substance. First of all, every effort can be made to understand the peculiar characteristic of design style by considering the linguistic source and meaning of design style. On the basis of this, picturesque style, mechanical style and expressive style are searched to establish the types of design style, inspect the every style's characteristic and focus on revealing the relations between the creation of design value and the style. Finally, changing factors of design style is researched to suggest the effect and direction of design development.

The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of space design appearing in facade and interior composition factors of buildings in the colonial period in Indonesia. Research method is a field study, and subjects of the study is 14 buildings built in the colonial period located in Jakarta. The research result is as follows. First, Facade is divided into C type (colonial style), CT type (colonial style + traditional style), CA type (colonial style + art deco style), and CTA type (colonial style + traditional style + art deco style). Among them, CT type which shows both a colonial style and traditional style accounts for the most. As for Java traditional style mainly shows Joglo roof style and bratticing decoration on top of gates, and the colonial style presents both an Amsterdam canal housing style such as narrow Facade and unusual Gable, and a classical style such as pediment, entablature, and columns. Second, interior space is divided into C type (colonial style), CT type (colonial style + Indonesian traditional style), A type (art deco style), and CA type (colonial style + art deco style). Among them, CT type was also accounted for the most. Selected traditional style is a shape of bratticing decoration on top of gates and a shape of tenon of Joglo housing structure. Colonial style showed classical style such as exposed crossbeams, columns, and pilasters, and as for unique decoration, there are Ancona decoration and Delft tile decoration. On one hand, art deco style used typical art deco factors such as contrast of various materials and complementary color or golden color use as well as zigzag or vertical lines and geometric ornament by combining with colonial style or traditional style. It is expected that such research result will be a practical reference data when Korean construction companies or interior design companies advance Indonesia.

The purpose of this study is to examine a distinctive feature and meaning of Reggae fashion and to establish a form of design on the basis of the Reggae style appeared in the 1990s. For the study, we review a formative background and stream of the Reggae fashion. And then, characteristics of the Reggae fashion is clarified through analyzing street fashion and High-fashion. The result of the analysis demonstrates that the Reggae fashion as a general term of the fashion style is connected to the Reggae musci emerged from Such socio-cultural changes as the tendency of the anti-fashion , the influence of the Afro-fashion , and the popularity of the Reggae music. The reggae fashion has been altered in terms of its style with the lapse of time-Rastafaran style, Raggnuffins and Bhangra style, Hip-hop Reggae style. The Reggae fashion emerged in the 1990s falls into three styles ; Afro-Reggae style, Feminine Reggae style, and Sporty Reggae style. The above mentioned results demonstrate that the design of Reggae fashion targets fro a youth in one's early 20s following a tendency in the 1990s and the 2000s. The design concept represents Romantic Reggae.

This study was initiated for the purpose of improving the visual effect of lingerie design, and it focused on the image factors and their characteristics of the lingerie design. Images of 105 lingerie design were evaluated by 3-5 images/participant with each image being evaluated 15 times through the SD method 5-scale questionnaire. The lingerie design elements were also analyzed by a committee. For data analysis, SPSS 10.0 program was used, and the principal component analysis, Ward-cluster, K-mean cluster analysis, ANOVA, duncan-test were conducted. The results are as follows: 1) The three major characteristics of the visual images in the lingerie design were aesthetics, dignity, and youth, which were supported 76.78% by the responses. 2) The visual image types can be categorized into four clusters; a dignified style, a sprightly style, a practical style, and a sexual style. 3) The design elements that allowed different design characteristics among the image types were style(one-piece/two-piece), total length, waist fit, matching color, silky lustrous, see-through on waist, hip, race percentages. 4) The ABC(apparel-body-construct) observed that a practical style was perceived as flat and whole rather than a dignified style or a sprightly style, while a sexual style was seen as round and partial.

Developing a modern Han-style design and providing support for the commercialization development model in recent years has been propelled by the Han-style Support Strategies of the central government in conjunction with Han-style revitalization related projects that reflect the efforts of local governments. Han-style revitalization, the rekindling and revaluing of human behavior and interest in local governments following the social and cultural changes of the past decades, has emerged as an increasingly traditional area of concern in Han-style design. The purpose of the study was to provide a method which clarifies the design rules of the Han-style bathroom based on an evaluation of sensibilities and a rough set theory, and to give the components meaning and to systematize the method. Essentially, the Han-style bathroom design evaluation is a complex multi-criteria decision making process that seeks to improve the effectiveness and objectively of the Han-style bathroom design. Han-style bathroom design can be displayed in a graphical representation in response to input from the evaluation concerning sensibilities. Because the graphical representation is composed of 3D data, it is possible to display the Han-style bathroom design form in any desired perspective and also to perform shading and other operations. With the proposed method, it is possible to obtain a combination of several contributory components which can be referred to as Reducts, Covering Index and Column Score. Han-Style/Non Han-Style Bathroom Designs were identified by the combination of several components.

The purposes of this study were to identify styles of contemporary interior design, construct their images, and find out the relation of the identified styles to the structure images. Content analysis was used as the main method of this study, and the focus of the analysis was on a typological approach. Two hundred interior design photos were drawn from five different interior design magazines published in the past ten years, and ,they were analyzed by interior design professionals. Contemporary interior design was classified into ten styles: romantic, ethnic, classical, high tech, elegant, country, modern, minimal, natural, and causal. Given the ten styles, five images of interior design were identified - simple, comfortable, rustic, classical, and delightful. With regard to the relationships between 10 styles and 5 images of interior design, the this study found that the romantic style was related to the images of rustic and classical, the ethnic style to the images of comfortable, classical, and delightful, the classical style to the image of classical, the high tech style to the images of classical and rustic, the elegant style to the images of simple and classical, the country style to the images of comfortable and rustic, the modern style to the images of simple and delightful, the minimal style to the image of comfortable, the natural style to the images of comfortable and delightful, and the causal style to the images of comfortable and delightful.

This paper aims to propose the typology suitable for games by analyzing the fashion styles of game characters and define the characteristics by type. The data collected was classified into the style groups with similarities, and the game character styles were named using representative terms. Then, five styles were identified and analyzed with the focus on clothing, hairstyle, and accessories: Creative Style, Attractive Style, Grotesque Style, Usual Style, and Suit Style. Creative Style was the unique style with partial addition or removal as the creative design. Attractive Style expressed the sexual attraction by design with significant exposure of body parts and skintight design. Grotesque Style showed grotesque, eerie, and dreary design. Usual Style was a plain and practical style. Finally, Suit Style was a kind of armor covering the whole body. The analysis results in this paper will bridge the difference of opinions between gamers and developers related to fashion style and, finally, help to enhance the competitiveness of game design.

The purpose of this study was to identify the preference of interior design, design style and color, according to consumers' life style. Data were collected from March 7th. 2002. to March 22nd. 2002 using the questionnaire. The subjects were 228 adults and frequency, percentage, mean, cross tab, F-test, factor analysis, and cluster analysis were used for data analysis. The major results of this study were: 1) The types of life style were 3: regular family oriented type, progressive fashionable type, and conservative self-manageable type. 2) This study revealed relative difference in design style and color preference according to consumers' life style. Therefore, the type of life style could be used as powerful variable in interior design and marketing of allied industries.

The aim of this study is to identify the formative feature of the Chippendale style of the 18th century and to understand the aesthetic feature of the Chippendale style applied in the modern fashion. This is significant in that new possibilities are proposed in fashion design in more holistic and multifaceted views by comparing and delving into the fashion vis-a-vis other fields in a bigger scope of the formative art. The Chippendale style furniture is a combination of various styles of different eras and regions such as Gothic and Chinese style based on the Rococo style. Today, It is regarded in fashion as a composite design of heterogeneous elements or very curvy decorative design. The Chippendale style of this kind is classified into the Rococo style, Gothic style and Chinese style. Depending on each classification, formative features including curves, asymmetry, decorativeness, geometrical feature, exoticism, compositeness and graceness were derived. In comparative studies, fashion and furniture of the Chippendale style have the similarity in formative features but there were some differences in the expressive method. This study analyzed the formative features of the Chippendale style represented in furniture and the modern fashion based on the Rococo-revival design in the modern fashion starting from 2000.
