  • To achieve high performance speed regulation, a robust adaptive speed controller is proposed for the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) subject to parameter uncertainties and input saturations in this paper. A nonlinear adaptive control is introduced to compensate the PMSM speed tracking errors due to uncertainties, disturbances and control input saturation constraints. By combining the adaptive control and the nonlinear robust control based on the interconnection and damping assignment (IDA) strategy, a new robust adaptive control is designed for speed regulation of PMSM. Stability and robustness of the closed-loop control system involved with the constrained control inputs rather than unconstrained control inputs are validated. Simulations for PMSM control in the presence of uncertainties and saturations nonlinearities show that the proposed approach is effective to regulate speed, and the average tracking error using the proposed approach is at least 32% smaller than the compared methods.

  • A discrete time model reference adaptive control has been applied in order to compensate the nonlinear friction characteristics in a hydraulic proportional position control system. As nonlinear friction, static and coulomb friction forces are considered and modeled as dead zone and external disturbance respectively. The model reference adaptive control system consists of a cascade combination of the dead zone. external disturbance and linear dynamic block. For adaptive control experiment. the DSP(Digital Signal Processor) board has been interfaced the hydraulic proportional position control system. The experimental results show that the MRAC(Model Reference Adaptive Control) for compensation of static and coulomb friction are very effective.

  • In this paper, we study a method to discriminate between trend stationary and difference stationary processes. Since a crucial ingredient of this discrimination is to determine the existence of unit root, we can use a unit root testing strategy. So, we introduce a discrimination based on unit root testing and propose the method using the adaptive lasso. Our Monte Carlo simulation experiments show that the adaptive lasso improves the discrimination accuracy when the process is trend stationary, but has lower accuracy than unit root strategy where the process is difference stationary.

  • When it calculates the optimum price of filter coefficient, the many operation quantity is necessary. Is like that the real-time control is difficult and the hardware embodiment expense is big. The case which does not know advance information of input signal or the case where the statistical nature changes with change of surroundings environment is necessary the adaptive filter. Every hour to change a coefficient automatically and system in order to reach to the condition of optimum oneself, the fact that is the adaptive filter. When it does not the quality of input signal or it does not know the environment of surroundings every hour changing, it does not emit not to be, in order to collect, the fact that is the adaptive filter. The case of the Acoustic Echo Canceler does thousands filter coefficients in necessity. It reduces a many calculation quantity to respect, it uses the IIR filter from hour territory. Also it uses the block adaptive filter which has a block input signal and a block output signal. The former there is a weak point where the stability discrimination is always demanded. Consequently, The block adaptive filter is researched plentifully. This dissertation planned the block MADF adaptive filter used to MADf algorithm.

  • In this paper, a new scheme of adaptive-neuro control system is presented to implement real-time control of robot manipulator using Digital Signal Processors. Digital signal processors, DSPs, are micro-processors that are particularly developed for fast numerical computations involving sums and products of measured variables, thus it can be programmed and executed through DSPs. In addition, DSPs are as fast in computation as most 32-bit micro-processors and yet at a fraction of therir prices. These features make DSPs a viable computational tool in digital implementation of sophisticated controllers. Unlike the well-established theory for the adaptive control of linear systems, there exists relatively little general theory for the adaptive control of nonlinear systems. Adaptive control technique is essential for providing a stable and robust perfor-mance for application of robot control. The proposed neuro control algorithm is one of learning a model based error back-propagation scheme using Lyapunov stability analysis method. The proposed adaptive-neuro control scheme is illustrated to be a efficient control scheme for the implementation of real-time control of robot system by the simulation and experi-ment.

  • This paper is a study on the design of the cascade adaptive filter (CAF) for baseline wandering elimination in order to enhance the performance of the detection of ST segments in ECG. The CAF using Least Mean Square (LMS) algorithm consists of two filters. The primary adaptive filter which has the cutoff frequency of 0.3Hz eliminates the baseline wandering in raw ECG The secondary adaptive filter removes the remnant baseline wandering which is not eliminated by the primary adaptive filter. The performance of the CAF was compared with the standard filter, the recursive filter, and the adaptive impulse correlated filter (AICF). As a result, the CAF showed a lower signal distortion than the standard filter and the AICF. Also, the CAF showed a better perf'ormance in noise elimination than the standard filter and the recursive filter. In conclusion, considering the characteristics of the noise elimination and the signal distortion, the CAF shows a better performance in the removal of the baseline wandering than the other three Otters and suggests the high performance in the detection of ST segment.

  • Globalization has led to a dramatic increase in intercultural service encounters between services providers and customers from diverse cultural backgrounds. This paper explores the causal relationship between service employees‟ cultural intelligence and adaptive sales behavior in intercultural service encounters, and the mediating effect of cognitive and emotional empathy on this relationship. A quantitative survey methodology was utilized to collect data on 341 salespeople at duty-free shops located on Jeju Island, Korea. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 18 and Amos 18. The results show that cultural intelligence has a significant impact on cognitive empathy, emotional empathy, and adaptive sales behavior. Cognitive empathy has a positive impact on adaptive sales behavior, whereas the relationship between emotional empathy and adaptive sales behavior is not significant. Additionally, cognitive empathy mediates the relationship of cultural intelligence and adaptive sales behavior. This study has useful managerial implications for employee selection, training, and development in service firms engaged in intercultural service encounters. This study extends prior research on intercultural service encounters by exploring the direct impact of cultural intelligence on intercultural adaptation and the mediating effect of empathy, suggesting the presence of a cognitive mechanism that plays a key role in the impact of cultural intelligence on adaptive sales behavior.

  • In this paper, a direct adaptive tracking controller based Lyapunov method is designed for a wheeled mobile robots. A wheeled mobile robots have three degrees of freedom and two control variables. Therefore, it is difficult to control a mobile robot using the general linear control. We introduce two kinds of Lyapunov function for the design of the controller and verify the controller. A mobile robots using the designed adaptive direct tracking controller is well-behaved and is easily implemented.

  • An adaptive filter for noise cancellation of ECG Is proposed. An adaptive noise canceller using the least mean squares algorithm Is used to reduce unwanted noise. An adaptive filter for nolse cancella lion minimizes the mean-square error between a primary input and a reference input. A primary input is the noisy ECG, and a reference input is a noise that Is correlated in some way with the noise in the primary input or a signal that is correlated only with ECG in the primary input.
