Mg-Zn Ferrites의 저온소결화 (Low Temperature Sintering Mg-Zn Ferrites)

  • 본 논문에서는 최근 고품위 TV 및 고정세도 디스플레이용으로 화상의 정세도를 향상시키기 위해 수평주파수를 높이려는 움직임이 있어, 편향 요크용 페라이트 코아에는 고주파수 영역에 있어서도 코아로스가 낮은 재료가 요구되고 있는 실정이다. Mg-Zn 페라이트에 있어서 화학조성 및 프로세스가 미세구조에 미치는 영향에 착안하여 저온 소결화를 하였다. 저손실인 Mg-Zn계 Ferrite에 Cu를 첨가하였다. MgO, ZnO, $Fe_2$$O_3$, CuO를 선택한 후 조성비의 변화를 두며 CuO를 MgO로 치환하였다. 이 시료를 $980∼1350^{\circ}C$까지 3시간 소결하였다. 측정은 투자율, 전력손실, 수축율, 코아로스를 측정하였다. 시료의 수축율을 개시하는 온도는 $900^{\circ}C$부근이며 Cu치환에 따라 수축율이 증가하였으며, Cu 치환에 따라 소성온도가 약 $-50∼-75^{\circ}C$ 낮아졌다.

Physical and nuclear shielding properties of newly synthesized magnesium oxide and zinc oxide nanoparticles

  • Magnesium oxide (MgO) and Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles (NPs) have been successfully synthesized by solid-solid reaction method. The structural properties of ZnO and MgO NPs were studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). XRD results indicated a formation of pure MgO and ZnO NPs. The mean diameter values of the agglomerated particles were around to be 70 and 50 nm for MgO and ZnO NPs, respectively using SEM analysis. Further, a wide-range of nuclear radiation shielding investigation for gamma-ray and fast neutrons have been studied for Magnesium oxide (MgO) and Zinc oxide (ZnO) samples. FLUKA and Microshield codes have been employed for the determination of mass attenuation coefficients (μm) and transmission factors (TF) of Magnesium oxide (MgO) and Zinc oxide (ZnO) samples. The calculated values for mass attenuation coefficients (μm) were utilized to determine other vital shielding properties against gamma-ray radiation. Moreover, the results showed that Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles with the lowest diameter value as 50 nm had a satisfactory capacity in nuclear radiation shielding.

  • Variations of reaction sequence of $Pb(Zn_{0.6}Mg_{0.4})_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}O_3$[PZMN] with precusor mixing methods were ex-amined using X-ray diffraction and dielectric characteristics. In the present study three different types of precursor mixing methods (oxide mixing PbO+$ZnNb_2O_6+MgNb_2O_6$[Zn+MN] and PbO+(Zn,Mg)$Nb_2O_6$[ZMN] precursor mixing) were adopted. When the oxide mixing method was used for the PZMN synthesis a Zn-rich perovskite phase and pyrochlore phase were formed. Compared with PbO+ZN+MN precursor mixing method the PbO-ZMN precursor led to a lowering of the formation temperature for perovskite sin-gle phase. These variation of composition and formation temperature of the perovskite phase were dis-cussed in terms of the difference in the solid-reaction requence between these three different types of pre-cursor mixing.

Structural and Magnetic Properties of LiZnO Added MgFe2O4 Composite

  • $Li_{0.1}Zn_{0.9}O$ and $MgFe_2O_4$ powders were synthesized using chemical methods and mixed in different proportions to prepare a mixture of $Li_{0.1}Zn_{0.9}O$ and $MgFe_2O_4$ that was thermally treated between 900 to $1100^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. Structural characterization was done using X-ray powder diffraction measurements. Grain sizes and morphologies of $Li_{0.1}Zn_{0.9}O$, $MgFe_2O_4$, and $Li_{0.1}Zn_{0.9}O+MgFe_2O_4$ samples were observed using a scanning electron microscope. Variation of magnetic properties of the $Li_{0.1}Zn_{0.9}O+MgFe_2O_4$ samples due to the addition of $Li_{0.1}Zn_{0.9}O$ was studied in relation to the structural changes occurring due to the thermal treatment. In particular, changes in the cationic distribution between the tetrahedral and octahedral positions were studied with respect to the increase of the annealing temperature. Magnetization was found to be dependent on the cations distributed in the tetrahedral and octahedral sites of the $MgFe_2O_4$.

Optical Properties of a ZnO-MgZnO Quantum-Well

  • The optical gain and the luminescence of a ZnO quantum well with MgZnO barriers is studied theoretically. We calculated the non-Markovian optical gain and the luminescence for the strained-layer wurtzite quantum well taking into account of the excitonic effects. It is predicted that both optical gain and luminescence are enhanced for the ZnO quantum well when compared with those of InGaN-AlGaN quantum well structure due to the significant reduction of the piezoelectric effects in the ZnO-MgZnO systems.

  • The perovskite phase in PZN-PMN-PT (Pb(Zn, Mg)1/3Nb2/3O3-PbTiO3) pseudoternary ceramics was stabilized by the addition of excess constituent divalent oxides (PbO, MgO and ZnO). The excess addition of 5mol% MgO or 7.5mol% PbO fully stabilized the perovskite phase. The enhanced diffuse phase transition (DPT) and the decrease in the electrical resistivity observed in the presence of excess ZnO or MgO were interpreted in terms of the additional formation of negatively charged, short-range ordered 1:1 domains with a concomitant generation of charge carriers, holes.

  • Floating zone(FZ)법으로 육성하고 annealing한 undoped $LiNbO_3$ 단결정 및 MgO 또는 ZnO를 첨가한 $LiNbO_3$ 단결정의 전기적,광학적 특성을 조사하였다. 전기전도도, 유전율 및 전이온도, 전기.기계결합계수등의 전기적 특성과 광투과율, 굴절율 등의 광학적 특성을 측정하였으며, 비선형 광학특성의 척도라 할 수 있는 비선형 굴절율을 이론적으로 계산하였다. Undoped $LiNbO_3$ 단결정과 MgO 또는 ZnO를 첨가한 $LiNbO_3$ 단결정의 전기적, 광학적 특성을 비교함으로서 MgO 또는 ZnO의 첨가가 $LiNbO_3$ 단결정의 전기적 및 광학적 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다.

  • 원자층 증착법을 이용하여 서로 다른 양자우물 폭을 갖는 ZnO-ZnMgO 양자우물들을 제작하였다. 제작된 시료들은 양자우물 폭에 따라 서로 다른 광전이 특성을 나타내는데 우물 폭이 1.5 nm인 시료의 경우 후 열처리에 따른 Mg의 확산에 따라 양자화된 에너지 준위가 형성되지 않았고 이보다 더 넓은 폭을 갖는 시료들의 경우 양자화된 준위의 광전이를 보임을 확인하였다.

  • The initiation and growth of $\alpha$-Al2O3/metal composites by the directed oxidation of molten commercial AlZnMg-alloy at 1223-1423K were investigated. Spontaneous bulk growth did not occur on the alloy alone. but the uniform initiation and growth of the composite were obtained by putting a thin layer of SiO2 particles on the surface of the alloy. Without SiO2 the external surface of the oxide layer was convered by MgO and MgAl2O4. But with the SiO2 reaction initiate the porous ZnO layers were found on the growth surface. The higher process temperature yielded a lower metal content. The oxidation product of $\alpha$-Al2O3 was found to be oriented with c-axis parallel to th growth direction. The growth rates increased with temperature and the apparent activation energy was 111.8 kJ/mol.

  • [ $Li_2CO_3-V_2O_5$ ], flux를 사용한 liquid phase epitaxy(LPE) 법을 사용하여 $LiNbO_3$ (001) 기판위에 5 mol% ZnO가 첨가된 $LiNbO_3$, 박막과 2 mol% MgO가 첨가된 $LiNbO_3$, 박막을 성장시켰다. $Zn:LiNbO_3$, 막과 $Mg:LiNbO_3$, 막과의 결정성과 격자 부정합은 x-ray rocking curve(XRC)로 분석되었다. 그리고 다층 박막의 단면에서의 ZnO와 MgO의 분포가 electron probe micro analyzer(EPMA)를 사용하여 관측되었다.
