ZnS powder was synthesized using a relatively facile and convenient glycothermal method at various reaction temperatures. ZnS was successfully synthesized at temperatures as low as $125^{\circ}C$ using zinc acetate and thiourea as raw materials, and diethylene glycol as the solvent. No mineralizers or precipitation processes were used in the fabrication, which suggests that the spherical ZnS powders were directly prepared in the glycothermal method. The phase composition, morphology, and optical properties of the prepared ZnS powders were characterized using XRD, FE-SEM, and UV-vis measurements. The prepared ZnS powders had a zinc blende structure and showed average primary particles with diameters of approximately 20~30 nm, calculated from the XRD peak width. All of the powders consisted of aggregated secondary powders with spherical morphology and a size of approximately $0.1{\sim}0.5{\mu}m$; these powders contained many small primary nanopowders. The as-prepared ZnS exhibited strong photo absorption in the UV region, and a red-shift in the optical absorption spectra due to the improvement in powder size and crystallinity with increasing reaction temperature. The effects of the reaction temperature on the photocatalytic properties of the ZnS powders were investigated. The photocatalytic properties of the as-synthesized ZnS powders were evaluated according to the removal degree of methyl orange (MO) under UV irradiation (${\lambda}=365nm$). It was found that the ZnS powder prepared at above $175^{\circ}C$ exhibited the highest photocatalytic degradation, with nearly 95 % of MO decomposed through the mediation of photo-generated hydroxyl radicals after irradiation for 60 min. These results suggest that the ZnS powders could potentially be applicable as photocatalysts for the efficient degradation of organic pollutants.

Fundamental studies for the synthesis of Mn-Zn ferrite powder were investigated using a series of leaching and coprecipitation processes from spent alkaline manganese batteries. Zinc and Manganese dissolution rates obtained at the reaction conditions of 100g/L pulp density, 3.0M $H_2SO_4$, $60^{\circ}C$ and 200 rpm with 30 ml $H_2O_2$ as a reducing agent were more than 97.9% and 93.9% and coprecipitation of Mn-Zn ferrite powder was performed according to various reaction conditions such as temperature, time and amount of $O_2$ gas injection using the leaching solution. As a result of coprecipitation, Mn-Zn ferrite could be synthesized directly at low temperature in the reaction condition pH 12, $80^{\circ}C$, $O_2$ 1.3 L/min. and 400 rpm. The synthesized Mn-Zn ferrite powder was spherical powder of $0.143{\mu}m$ particle size and had a saturation magnetization about 80 emu/g.
Zinc gallate $(ZnGa_2O_4)$ thin film phosphors have been formed on ITO glass substrates by a sol-gel spinning coating method. For the formation of the film phosphors, the starting materials of zinc acetate dihydrate, gallium nitrate hydrate and 2-methoxyethanol as a solution were used. The thin films deposited were firstly dried at $100^{\circ}C$ and fired at $500^{\circ}C\;or\;600^{\circ}C$ for 30 min and then, annealed $500^{\circ}C\;or\;600^{\circ}C$ at for 30 min under an annealing atmosphere of 3% $H_2/Ar$. The thin films deposited on ITO glass plates showed the (220), (222), (400), (422), (511), and (440) peaks of spinel structure as well as the (311) peak indicating a standard powder diffraction pattern. The surface morphologies of the thin film phosphors were observed with a firing and an annealing condition. The $ZnGa_2O_4$ film phosphors showed the blue emission spectra around 410 nm as well as the emission spectra in the UV region (360-380 nm).
To compare the effects of various pulp capping agents that are usually applied to human pulp tissue, adult dogs were bred for a certain period and each capping agent was applied experimentally to pulp tissue after vital pulpotomy. Histological observations are as follows. 1) In comparison between methods of vital pulpotomy, one and two appointment method, different courses of healing were observed. In one appointment method, the granulation tissue formation at the amputation sur face of pulp tissue had a tendency to be transformed to scar tissue formation. In two appointment method, more transformation than that of one appointment method from scar tissue to dentin matrix formation were observed. 2) Histologic changes that have appeared in pulp tissue are a) fixation at outer layer b) degeneration at middle layer c) hyperemia and round cell infiltration at inner layer 3) With use of formocresol mixed zinc oxide powder in two appointment method complete formation of dentin matrix were observed. 4) Among the methods and aagents described above formocresol mixed zinc oxide powder in two appointment method appeared to be relatively effective.

In this study, partially dry transfer is investigated to solve the problem of fully dry transfer. Partially dry transfer is a method in which multiple layers of graphene are dry-transferred over a wet-transferred graphene layer. At a wavelength of 550 nm, the transmittance of the partially dry-transferred graphene is seen to be about 3% higher for each layer than that of the fully dry-transferred graphene. Furthermore, the sheet resistance of the partially dry-transferred graphene is relatively lower than that of the fully dry-transferred graphene, with the minimum sheet resistance being 179 Ω/sq. In addition, the fully dry-transferred graphene is easily damaged during the solution process, so that the performance of the organic photovoltaics (OPV) does not occur. In contrast, the best efficiency achievable for OPV using the partially dry-transferred graphene is 2.37% for 4 layers.

We modified the optical properties of the $CuInS_2$ nanocrystal (NC) by alloying. Nanocrystals (NCs) with alloyed cores were synthesized by refluxing the as-synthesized $CuInS_2$ NCs with a mixture of cadmium acetate, zinc acetate and palmitic acid. The shift in emission wavelength of the NCs after shell layer formation was minimized by alloying. The photoluminescence (PL) spectra showed significant reduction of emission intensity. A detailed study on the emission process of NCs implies that the formation of shell layers with small lattice mismatch minimized the mismatch strain generated from the shell layers in contrast to core alloyed NCs. In particular, time-resolved PL spectra of the NCs showed a significant increase in the lifetime of excited carriers by modifying the band alignment of the NCs by modifying the shell composition.
Mulberry leaves Julpyun(a traditional Korean rice cake) was prepared by adding Mulberry leaves powder in the ratio of 0%, 3%, 6% and 9% of rice flour, and tested for inorganic nature, physical function, chromaticity, and rheological properties. As the ratio of mulberry leaves powder increased, both the amounts of major inorganic ingredients, calcium, magnesium, and sodium, and the amounts of minor inorganic ingredients, iron, copper, and zinc, were increased proportionally. Thus, one way to increase the amounts of inorganic ingredients appeared to add mulberry leaves powder. In physical function test, control cake(0% mulberry leaves) showed the highest value in appearance and the value decreased as the amounts of mulberry leaves increased. In color, 3%-mulberry leaves-Julpyun gave the highest value followed by 0%, 6%, and 9%-Julpyun in order. The values of texture and moisture were decreased as the ratio of mulberry leaves powder increased. In rheometer test, 9%-mulberry leaves Julpyun showed the high values in hardness, cohesiveness, and brittleness. Therefore, as the amounts of mulberry leaves powder increased, the amounts of inorganic ingredients increased, but the value of physical function test decreased. 9% mulberry leaves Julpyun has the highest value of rheometer test.
This study sought to investigate the reaction of Co-binder containing tungsten with molten zinc. Four kinds of Co-W alloys (pure, 10%W, 20%W, 30%W) were prepared using the powder metallurgy method. The specimens were immersion-tested in molten pure zinc baths at $460^{\circ}C$. To evaluate the corrosion property in molten zinc, the weight loss of the specimen was measured after the immersion tests at different immersion times (10~300 min.). Co-10%W alloys, compared with pure cobalt, showed no effect of tungsten addition on the reaction rate in molten zinc. The relationship between the weight loss and the square root of immersion period represents a straight line in both pure cobalt and Co-10%W alloy. The Co-Zn reaction layer in Co- 1O%W alloy consists of $\gamma2$, $\gamma1$, $\gamma$ and ($\beta1$ phases. The rate of weight loss significantly increases and the weight loss behavior is not well accord with the linear relationship as the tungsten content in the Co-W alloy increases. The $\beta1$ layer was not formed on the Co-20%W alloy and neither was a stable Co-Zn intermetallic compound layer found on the Co-30%W alloy. The main cause of increase in reaction rate with increasing tungsten content is related with the instability of the Co-Zn reaction phases as seen on micro-structural analysis.

Zinc Air batteries obtain their energy density by utilizing ambient oxygen as the cathode materials. And specific capacity of zinc powder is as high as 820 mAh/g. When Zinc Air battery discharged at low current, then discharge voltage profile has very flat pattern until reach to end of voltage. But, when Zinc Air battery discharged at high current, then discharge voltage and energy becomes very low. So we focused on resistance and porosity of cathode with contents of PTFE. Wf studied on the effects of PTFE on performance of Zinc Air batteries. So we have got optimum contents of PTFE binder.

Aluminum doped zinc oxide (AZO) films have been prepared on Coming 7059 glass substrates by r.f. magnetron sputtering method. A powder target instead of a conventional sintered ceramic target was used in order to improve the utilization efficiency of the target and reduce the cost of the film deposition process. The influence of sputter pressure on the structural, electrical, and optical properties of AZO films were studied. The AZO films had hexagonal wurtzite structure with a preferred c-axis orientation, regardless of sputter pressure and target types. The crystallinity and degree of orientation was increased by increasing the sputter pressure. For higher sputtering pressures, a reduction of the resistivity was observed due to a increase on the mobility and the carrier concentration. The lowest resistivity of $6.5{\times}10^{-3}\;{\Omega}-cm$ and the average transmittance of 80% can be obtained for films deposited at 15 mTorr.
