The Development of An Efficient Zigbee Bridge for Legacy Device Control (레거시 기기 통합 제어를 위한 효율적 Zigbee Bridge 개발)

  • IR remote control is the most common way to control home appliances nowadays. Each legacy device is controlled with their own remote controller, and it is not standardized yet. Although it is possible to handle multiple devices with a integrated remote controller, not all the devices and command sets are supported. There are also limitations in expandability especially when new or special command sets are required. In this paper, a efficient zigbee bridge which transforms a command set sent via zigbee to IR comment set is developed. The bridge also has a learning function based on a header comparison method. When a new command is sent, the bridge learn the new code. When a existing code is sent, the bridge dispatches applicable IR command to the appliance. With this approach, it is possible to obtain expandability and flexibility for new commands, and increase the communication efficiency up to 56.8 times.

  • This paper presents a bridge road surface frost prediction and monitoring system. The node sensing hardware comprises microprocessor, temperature sensors, humidity sensors and Zigbee wireless communication. A software interface is implemented the control center to monitor and acquire the temperature and humidity data of bridge road surface. A bridge road surface frost occurs when the bridge deck temperature drops below the dew point and the freezing point. Measurement data was used for prediction of road surface frost occurrences. The actual alert is performed at least 30 minutes in advance the road surface frost. The road surface frost occurrences data are sent to nearby drivers for traffic accidents prevention purposes.

  • This paper is to automate the intelligent and equipment to recycle the volatile organic compounds in various a gas stations and a laundry, in real life. In addition, based the ZigBee module and TCP/IP communications on ICT technologies, it's propose an integrated management system to monitor and manage an liquid at a remote location.Furthermore, it's propose a service model that can be freely managed from a remote location based on the app on android. In this paper, we present a communication protocol of the bridge modules and a liquefier of intelligent control system based ZigBee and MCU(Micro Controller Unit). Through the development of smart app based android mobile services in an integrated management system, it's represent for liquefier to a DB server for remote management(MS SQL 2012) and a web server (OS: Windows 2008).

  • Recently, To provide various service for user, there are some trends to construct health care system using bio-sensors and wireless network technologies. Accordingly, An effective middleware is needed to manage and control the various bio-sensors. Also, it is important to extend network and interoperate the various application system in healthcare service. In this paper, we propose to be connected with network based on UPnP by design and implementation of UPnP-ZigBee bridge. The proposed UPnP-ZigBee bridge manage and control ZigBee sensor module effectively. we implemented and tested ECG, PPG, and environment sensor module based on ZigBee wireless network to apply in health care service.

  • 본 논문에서는 메탈핼라이드 램프(MHL)의 원격 조도제어 및 감시 시스템을 구성하기 위하여 2.4GHz Zigbee 무선모듈로 구성된 무선모뎀을 구현하였다. MHL은 주로 가로등이나 보안등의 용도로 쓰이며, 대부분 설치되어 있는 시스템은 Group 제어 기반의 단방향 제어방식이다. 이러한 방식들은 각 등에 대한 개별적인 제어 및 감시가 이루어지지 못한다는 단점이 있으며, 이를 극복하기 위해서는 양방향 통신을 할 수 있는 통신 시스템이 필요하다. MHL은 다른 방전등들과 비교하여 비교적 방전시간이 긴 특징이 있으며, 이러한 특징은 조도제어 시스템 구성 시 고려되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 시스템 구성을 위하여 IEEE 802.15.4 기반의 ZigBee 모듈을 이용하고, 조도제어를 위하여 Half-Bridge 방식의 전자식 안정기를 설계하여, 이를 제어하기 위한 제어회로를 구성하였으며, 램프의 특성에 맞는 프로토콜을 제안하였다.
