According to the Fourth Assessment Report of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC) Working Group III, climate change is already in progress around the world, and it is necessary to execute mitigation in order to minimize adverse impacts. This paper suggests future climate change needs, employing IPCC Special Report on Emissions Scenarios(SRES) to predict temperature rises over the next 100 years. This information can be used to develop sustainable architecture applications for energy efficient buildings and renewable energy. Such climate changes could also affected the present supplies of renewable energy sources. This paper discusses one recent Fourth Assessment Report of IPCC (Mitigation of Climate Change) and the Hadley Centre climate simulation of relevant data series for South Korea. Result of this research may improve consistency and reliability of simulation weather data or climate change in order to take advantage of SRES and PRECIS QUMP. It is expected that these calculated test reference years will be useful to the designers of solar energy systems, as well as those who need daily solar radiation data for South Korea. Also, those results may contribute zero carbon and design of sustainable architecture establishing future typical weather data that should be gone ahead to energy efficient building design using renewable energy systems.
The continuous development of science and technology since the Industrial Revolution and the development of human civilization are based on the use of fossil fuels. However, the use of fossil fuels is increasing the greenhouse gas, the main cause of global warming, and global warming is an extreme climate anomaly that is rapidly increasing human and material damage. Therefore, efforts are being made worldwide to return greenhouse gases to pre-industrial levels. In Korea, 2050 carbon neutrality has been set as a major policy and efforts are being made to curb carbon emissions in the overall industry. Carbon emission suppression is based on the minimization of fossil fuel use, and research and development are underway on building a zero-emission house that minimizes the energy used in buildings in the construction field. Therefore, in this study, as part of the zero-emissions water system construction, waste resources generated at industrial sites were utilized and an integrated lightweight concrete solar panel grafted with a concrete lightweight panel and solar panel was manufactured and the possibility of its use was evaluated.
As energy related problems continue to arise, Korea's thermal insulation market for the zero energy homes is also demanding major changes, but there are no realistic countermeasures. Also, interest in inorganic insulation is growing as damage from multifamily housing fire using flammable insulation materials is increasing. On the other hand, many studies have been conducted on lightweight foam concrete, which implies a sufficient possibility as an insulation material by generating a large amount of air bubbles. However, studies of existion bubble concrete are not quantified by the experimental difficulty of using bubbles when compared. Therefore, in this study, the change in strength due to air pressure using a bubble foam, one of the types of air bubbles for the development of light foam concrete.
The advanced counties effort to the supplement of the zero energy buildings for the global building energy saving. In the middle of the development of passive technology, the government has to effort to the energy saving of buildings by enhanced performance of the window thermal insulation. By the method of enhanced performance of window thermal insulation, the use of vacuum double glazing saves the energy consumption in building. This glazing has low U-value(heat transmission coefficient) than normal double glazing. The vacuum glazing enhanced thermal insulation performance by vacuum space of between the glass and glass. For this vacuum glazing, pillar maintain the space between glass and glass. But this structure cause the raising the heat transmission coefficient in pillar approaching glass. This study confirmed the U-value by the test method of thermal resistance for windows and doors. Also this study confirmed the variation of heat transmission coefficient by the structure of vacuum glazing. And this study measured the surface temperature of the vacuum glazing about pillar approaching glass and vacuum space in cool chamber and hot box. That result, this study confirmed U-value of $0.422W/m^2{\cdot}K$ of vacuum glazing. Also this study confirmed U-value of $0.300{\sim}0.422W/m^2{\cdot}K$ by various the structure of vacuum glazing. And this study confirmed the heat flow in pillar approaching glass.
Expanding the supply of BIPV is crucial to strengthening the competitiveness of the photovoltaic industry and achieving Nationally Determined Contributions through the zero-energy building mandatory policy. BIPV is a technology that integrates into the building envelope to generate electricity and provide functions as a building material. It is suitable for domestic environments with many high-rise buildings due to the narrow land area and urbanization. To expand the supply of BIPV, economics, safety, and aesthetics must be ensured. In this study, a color BIPV module with a color PET film applied as a front material was manufactured for aesthetic and economic feasibility. The relationship between power output and transmittance according to color was analyzed. By analyzing the power output of the module and the transmittance of the film, the wavelength band (transmittance reduction band) that has the greatest effect on efficiency was analyzed regarding the color of the film. The red film showed the narrowest transmittance reduction band and the lowest degree of decrease in transmittance, making it ideal for minimizing the efficiency decrease rate compared to existing ones.

Humanity is facing a number of serious issues associated with increased energy consumption and environmental pollution. Various studies/guidelines concerning sustainable building construction have suggested solutions to these disastrous problems, including: net-zero energy buildings, the green building certification system, and others. Sustainability pursues three expected effects: environmental, social, and economic merits. Korean Green Building Council (K-GBC) has also announced the Korean Green Building Certification System (K-GBCS) since 2003 based on sustainability. Some positive social and environmental aspects of the K-GBCS have already been reported. However, it is somewhat difficult to verify its economic merits, which are crucial to ensuring the validity of the K-GBCS. This research aims to verify the economic merits of the eco-friendly Korean-style condominiums accredited by K-GBCS. Following this, the expected economic effectiveness of K-GBCS will be examined in terms of sustainability. The underlying assumption is that the potential economic effect should reflect the actual economic merits, and should reflect the value of the housing in particular. According to the analysis of the variance, it can be concluded the value of green certified buildings is statistically higher than the value of non-certified buildings. Furthermore, it was also observed that this tendency was more dominant in Gyeonggi Province than in the City of Seoul. This may be caused by one of the variables: the proximity to downtown. In future studies, this variable should be studied in greater detail.
The forecasted energy shortage tends to encourage to develop the next generation energy to countermove the energy problems and the climatic change all over the world. Korean government is pushing ahead with the policy for 'Low Carbon Green Growth' to deal with climate changes and to overcome energy problems. And many studies for low carbon green city or zero carbon city have been progressed. In this study, energy plants and energy scenarios are selected by energy supply suited features of city at city plan. The method to evaluate energy scenario can be proposed to apply various energy plants for energy demand on city planning step and evaluation method can be systematized to be used by users. Also the calculated values are changed into index for comparison according to each energy scenario.

The U.S. Department of Energy conducts the Solar Decathlon competition as a student-based achievement that encourages sustainable design with energy efficiency and solar energy technologies. In the 2020 competition, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) team designed, fabricated, and constructed a net-zero modular house that applies innovative and highly efficient building technologies. This paper focused on the lessons learned during the early phases of this ongoing modular project. The research methodology included obtaining feedback from key project participants using a well-structured questionnaire. The results showed that the major items/challenges in the project's planning phase included selecting the modular size, planning the construction system, planning the materials and procurement, estimating costs and duration, selecting a fabricator, collaboration and communication, safety, and planning module transportation. These findings will help modular practitioners and future Solar Decathlon competition participants better understand how and what factors they should consider most during the early phases through the lessons learned.
To implement the planning of zero-energy buildings, their energy performance must be improved, and renewable energy applications must also be included. To accelerate the use of renewable energies in such buildings, BIPVs should be actively used in windows and on roofs. Window-type BIPVs are being developed in various forms depending on the size, composition, area ratio of the window, specification of glass, and so on. To analyze the applicability of various solar cells as window-type BIPVs, in this study, we evaluated their applicability, at the current development level, by analyzing the indoor illuminance, heat gain and heat loss; the cooling, heating, and lighting energy levels; and the generation performance of the various solar cells. To enhance the future applicability of window type BIPV, we analyze the overall energy performance of the building, according to changes in visible light transmittance and generation efficiency. The main research results are as follows. The area ratios above the standard illuminance, based on the window type and according to the VLT, were in order of low-e glazing, a-Si window, DSSC window, and c-Si window. The heat gain of the semi-transparent solar cell winodw was remarkably low. The energy consumption of buildings was highest in the order of c-Si window, DSSC window, a-Si window, and clear low-e window. However, in the case of including the power generation performance of the solar cell, the energy consumption was found to be high in order of DSSC window, c-Si window, a-Si window, and clear low-e window. In the future, if a window-type BIPV is developed, we believe that improvement in power generation performance and improvement in visible light transmittance will be needed.
