We present hydrodynamic simulations of gas clouds that inflowing from the disk to a few hundred parsec region of the Milky Way. Realistic Galactic structures are included in our simulations by thousands of multipole expansions that describe 6.4 million stellar particles of a self-consistent Galaxy simulation (Baba, Saitoh & Wada, in prep.). We find that a hybrid multipole expansion model with two different basis sets and a thick disk correction well reproduces the overall structures of the Milky Way. We find that the nuclear ring evolves into 240 pc at T~1500 Myr, regardless of the initial size. For most of simulation runs, gas inflow rate to the nuclear region is equilibrated as ~0.02 Msun/yr, and thus accumulated gas mass and star formation activity is stabilized as $6{\times}10^7Msun$ and ~0.02M/yr, respectively. These stabilized values are in a good agreement with estimations for the CMZ. The nuclear ring is off-centered to the Galactic center by the lopsided central mass distribution of the Galaxy model, and thus an asymmetric mass distribution is arose accordingly. The lopsidedness also leads the nuclear ring to be tilted to the Galactic plane and to precess along the Galaxy rotation. In early evolutionary stage when gas clouds start to inflow and form the nuclear ring, the z-directional oscillations of the gas clouds results in the twisted, infinity-shaped nuclear ring. Since the infinity-shaped feature is transient only for first 100 Myr, the current infinity-shape observed in the CMZ may indicate that the CMZ forms quite recently.

The variable density phantom fabricated with varying the infill values of 3D printer to provide more accurate dose verification of radiation treatments. A total of 20 samples of rectangular shape were fabricated by using the $Finebot^{TM}$ (AnyWorks; Korea) Z420 model ($width{\times}length{\times}height=50mm{\times}50mm{\times}10mm$) varying the infill value from 5% to 100%. The samples were scanned with 1-mm thickness using a Philips Big Bore Brilliance CT Scanner (Philips Medical, Eindhoven, Netherlands). The average Hounsfield Unit (HU) measured by the region of interest (ROI) on the transversal CT images. The average HU and the infill values of the 3D printer measured through the 2D area profile measurement method exhibited a strong linear relationship (adjusted R-square=0.99563) in which the average HU changed from -926.8 to 36.7, while the infill values varied from 5% to 100%. This study showed the feasibility fabricating variable density phantoms using the 3D printer with FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling)-type and PLA (Poly Lactic Acid) materials.

Recently the needs of high reliable substances of high strength and high ductility are gradually increased with the development of aerospace industry. The characteristics of maraging steel has high ductililty, formability, corrosion resistant and high temperature strength and is easy to fabricate, weld and treat with heat, and maintain an invariable size even after heat treatment. e steels are furnished in the solution annealed condition and they achieve full properties through martensitic precipitation aging a relatively simple, low temperature heat treatment. As is true of the heat treating procedures, aging is a time/temperature dependent reaction. Therefore, the objective of this stud)'was consideration of fatigue characteristics according as Nb(niobium) content and time/temperature of heat treatment change. Also the stress analysis, fatigue lift, and stress intensity factor were compared with experiment results and FEA(finite element analysis) result. The maximum ftresses of)( Y, and Z axis direction showed about $2.12\times$10$^{2}$MPa, $4.40\times$10$^{2}$MPa and $1.32\times$10$^{2}$MPa respectively. The fatigue lives showed about $7\%$ lower FEA result than experiment result showing almost invariable error every analyzed cycle. Stress intensity factor of the FEA result was lower about $3.5~ 10\%$ than that of the experiment result showing that the longer fatigue crack ten添 the hi인or error. It considered that the cause for the difference was the modeled crack tip having always the same shape and condition regardless of the crack growth.

It is well known that a single moving camera video is capable of extracting the 3-dimensional position of an object. With this in mind, current research performed image-based monitoring to establish a floating structure model using a camcorder system. Following this, the present study extracted frame images from digital camcorder video clips and matched the interest points to obtain relative 3D coordinates for both regular and irregular wave conditions. Then, the researchers evaluated the transformation accuracy of the modified SURF-based matching and image-based displacement estimation of the floating structure model in regular wave condition. For the regular wave condition, the wave generator's setting value was 3.0 sec and the cycle of the image-based displacement result was 2.993 sec. Taking into account mechanical error, these values can be considered as very similar. In terms of visual inspection, the researchers observed the shape of a regular wave in the 3-dimensional and 1-dimensional figures through the projection on X Y Z axis. In conclusion, it was possible to calculate the displacement of a floating structure module in near real-time using an average digital camcorder with 30fps video.

This paper was studied to investigate and compare the effects of inclined baffle plate on the turbulent flow characteristics of a gun-type gas burner through X-Y plane and Y-Z plane respectively by using X-probe from hot-wire anemometer system. For this purpose, two burner models with a cone-type baffle plate and a flat-type one respectively were used. The fast jet flow spurted from slits plays a role such as an air-curtain because it encircles rotational flow by swirl vanes and drives mixed main flow to axial direction regardless of the inclination of baffle plate. The inclined baffle plate causes axial mean velocity component and turbulent intensities etc. to be greatly concentrated towards the central part of a burner, and its effect especially appears in the range of about X/R=1.0-2.0. Also, it gives much larger size to axial mean velocity component and turbulent intensities etc formed near the slits in the range of X/R=1.4103. Especially the inclined baffle plate shifts more the Reynolds shear stress uw to the central region of a burner(Y/R=${\pm}$0.75) than the flat-type one, moreover it develops more strongly than uv.

This paper describes the Computer Aided Design (CAD) of dies for direct hot extrusion of structural shapes such as Z's and U's from aluminum alloys. A simple analysis of the direct extrusion process is developed and used to formulate a disign procedure for determining the optimal shape of the extrusion dies. A computer software system has been developed to design flat-faced dies for non-lubricated hot extrusion process. This software is a system of computer programs which are written to logical design procedure. Computer programs are based on empirical and analytical relationships, as well as on established knowledge based system. In the interactive mode of operation, the reaults at various tages of the design process are plotted on a screen. At any stage, the designer can interact with the computer to change or modify the design, based on his experience. The output from the program is (a) the design of the flat-faced die, (b) information on extrusion load, reduction ratio, and other process variables, etc. The implementation of this CAD system is expected to (a) provide scientific basis and rationalize the die design procedure, (b) optimize extrusion variables to maximize yield and production rate, (c) improve utilization of existing press capacity, etc.

A feature extraction method for the objects that have a circular cross section is proposed. To implement a robust recognition system which can effectively deal with various types of 2-dimensional image and 3-dimensional image, both 2- dimensional information and 3-dimensional information should be collectively extracted and combined for the optimum. For this, this paper presents a feature extraction method for 3-dimensional objects, particularly for the objects with a circular cross section which most objects in the real world are known to have. Firstly, the Z gradient is proposed to extract the shape information from those objects. Using this information, normal vectors are derived from the surface patches. The intersection points between the vectors are applied to the geometric feature extraction. Also, for more accurate recognition, a feature extraction method for between surface regions is proposed. Finally, the extraction method of function information is investigated for the final recognition process. The usefulness of the proposed method is proved through the experimentation.

Purpose: We wanted to evaluate the relating factors for deformities of the foot after tibial fracture and the outcome of respective surgical treatment. Materials and Methods: We studied thirty-two patients (thirty-five feet) who had foot deformities after tibia fracture. The age, gender, shape, location, concurrent soft tissue injury and operative treatment of tibial fracture were analysed and outcome of the surgical treatment was investigated. Results: Deformities of the foot mostly occurred in open fractures of Gustilo type 3 or closed fracture with severe soft tissue injury. Variable surgical treatments such as simple release, lengthening, Z-plasty and osteotomy were performed. The AOFAS ankle-hind foot scale was improved from average of 37.3 points preoperatively to an average of 77.2 points at the last follow up. The Maryland foot score was from 42.9 to 90.2 and AOFAS Lesser Toe Metatarso-phalangeal interphalangeal scale was from 42.9 to 90.5. Radiological correction was also improved from 21.9 degrees to 7.9 degrees (Meary angle), from 112.2 to 138.5 (Hibb's angle) and from 33.8 to 25.9 (Calcaneal pitch). Conclusion: We proposed that great care should be taken of treatment for the tibial fracture and early detection and proper management of the foot deformities are crucial.
This paper addresses a new triangulation method for constructing surface model from a set of wire-frame contours. The most important problem of contour triangulation is the branching problem, and we provide a new solution for the double branching problem, which occurs frequently in real data. The multiple branching problem is treated as a set of double branchings and an algorithm based on contour merging is developed. Our double branching algorithm is based on partitioning of root contour by Toussiant's polygon triangulation algorithml[14]. Our double branching algorithm produces quite natural surface model even if the branch contours are very complicate in shape. We treat the multiple branching problem as a problem of coarse section sampling in z-direction, and provide a new multiple branching algorithm which iteratively merge a pair of branch contours using imaginary interpolating contours. Our method is a natural and systematic solution for the general branching problem of contour triangulation. The result shows that our method works well even though there are many complicated branches in the object.
Four peroxidase isozymes from horseradish roots (isozymes A, B, C and D) were isolated by chromatography and were thermally inactivated at $70{\sim}97^{\circ}C$ and pH 7.0. The four isozymes had different inactivation rates and the inactivation of each isozymes did not follow first order kinetics. D values of isozymes A, B, C, D and crude enzyme were 594s, 1850s, 2050s, 78s, 130s and z values were $24.0^{\circ}C$, $12.5^{\circ}C$, $18.0^{\circ}C$, $23.7^{\circ}C$ and $24.0^{\circ}C$, respectively. Sephadex gel chromatogram of the thermally treated isozyme C indicated that the shape and molecular weight of the native isozyme changed during inactivation.
