우리 나라 연안습지의 지속가능한 관광개발 방안에 관한 연구 - 영종도 주변지역을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Plannings for the Sustainable Tourism Development of Korean Coastal Wetlands - Focused on Youngjong Island and its neighboring areas -)

  • This study is aimed to establish the development plannings for the sustainable tourism of Yongyoo Island and Mooeui Island, neighboring areas of Youngjong Island, for the conservation and environmentally friendly use of Korean coastal wetlands. The concepts of sustainable tourism is described. The current development status and its problems of Youngjong Island and its neighboring areas are analysed. The development plannings for sustainable tourism of Yongyoo Island and Mooeui Island are suggested as follows : (1) The small scale tourism development projects, which are able to represent region's own characteristics, instead of large scale ones, should be performed. (2) The participation of community people should be guaranteed at the beginning stage of the decision making processes for tourism development projects. Additionally, the profits of the development should be fairly distributed among community people. (3) The coastal wetlands should be conserved and their sewage disposal capacity should be protected by way of the minimization of reclamation. (4) The coastal wetlands should be developed into the tourist resorts utilizing migratory birds as tourism resources. In addition, the carrying capacity of the coastal wetlands, which is based on the current status of ecosystems and the Environmental Impact Assessment(EIA), should be calculated.

영종도 비고화 퇴적물의 점토광물 조성 및 기원에 관한 연구 (Clay Mineral Assemblage and Their Origin of Unconsolidated Sediments of Youngjong Island, Western Part of Korea)

  • Unconsolidated sediments of Youngjong Island were investigated to consider the vertical distribution of clay minerals and their origin. At least three sedimentation units can be recognized by color, magnetic susceptibility, and pH. X-ray diffraction analysis of clay size fraction reveals that illite is the most abundant phase (52.06%), and chlorite (27.16%), kaolinite (16.92%), smectite (3.86%) occur next to it. Detailed XRD study suggests that illitic materials contain fairly large amount of ordinary muscovite derived from the mica schist in Youngjong Island and adjacent area. The relative amount of kaolinite and chlorite is less than those of samples from estuary mouth of several rivers that flow to Yellow Sea and South Sea. Especially smectite content of the present sample is much higher than those of estuary sediments. These indicate that the unconsolidated sediments of tidal-flat deposit in Youngjong Island are largely affected by marine influence and partly affected by sediment in influx from China. However, some degree of source of this unconsolidated sediments is inland origin from adjacent estuary sediment and in situ or nearby weathered materials.

인천-영종 간 해상수송시스템 구축을 위한 경제적 타당성 분석 (A Feasibility Study on the Economic Aspect of Sea Transportation System between Inchon and Youngjong Island)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the economic aspect of sea transportation system between Inchon and Youngjong island in which Inchon international airport is being constructed. Total demand of sea transportation arising from in the airport and Yongyu Muwi leisure complex was estimated. To select optimum transportation route, environmental conditions in and around Inchon harbour and Youngjong island including the change of water depth by tide current, fog, rain, wind adn typhoon, ets., were investigated. The preliminary consideration on ships (size, velocity, transport capacity, price), routes, operational modes, terminals and berthing facilities were carried out. The transportation cost per passenger by sea transportation system was estimated to compare with that of land transportation system. It was found that sea transportation system proposed is competitive to the transportation system.

영종도 주변해역의 저서동물 군집 (Macrobenthic community on the soft-bottom around the Youngjong Island, Korea)

  • 영종도 주변해역의 저서동물상을 파악하기 위하여 17개 정점에서 van Veen grab을 사용하여 1991년 10월에서 1992년 7원까지 계절별로 저서동물을 조사하였다. 조사기간 중 총 266종의 저서동물이 채집되었으며, 다모류가 111종$(41.7\%)$으로 가장 우점하였고, 갑각류가 75종$(28.2\%)$, 연체동물이 59종$(22.2\%)$ 이었다 조사해역의 평균 서식밀도와 생물량은 각각 498$개체/m^2$$41.06g/m^2$였는데, 이 중 다모류가 332$개체/m^2$로서 개체수에서 우점하였고, 극피동물이 $21.17g/m^2$으로 생물량에서 가장 많았다. 주요 우점종은 다모류인 Mediomastus sp., Heteromastus sp., Nephtys Polybranchia 및 이매패류인 Nipponomysella oblongata oblongata 등이었으며, 계절별로 우점종의 변화가 있었다. 집괴분석 결과 조사해역은 조간대의 사니질 펄지역 (G-I), 조하대 니사질 천해역 (G-II)과 니사질의 수로역 (G-III)으로 나누어졌다 서식밀도는 조간대 사니질의 G-I에서 가장 높았고, 수로역인 G-III에서 가장 낮았으나 종다양성 지수 값은 가장 높았다. 영종도 주변해역에서의 이러한 저서통물 분포양상은 퇴적상과 간조시의 노출기간에 의해 그게 영향을 받는 것으로 사료된다.

Silty Tidal Rhythmites from the Upper Pleistocene Sedimentary Sequence, Western Coast of Korea

  • Silty tidal rhythmites were found from the upper Pleistocene sequence unconformably overlain by the Holocene tidal deposits within the macrotidal coastal zone of Youngjong Island, western coast of Korea. The rhythmites occur as vertically accreted, parallel and planar laminae that are 0.1-2.5 mm in thickness. Each lamina grades from coarse silt (mean grain size: 5-6.5 ${\phi}$) at the lower part into fine silt to mud (mean grain size: 6-7.5 ${\phi}$) at the upper part. The rhythmites can be classified into two types based on the patterns in laminar thickness variation. Type I is a bundle of 12-20 laminae in which laminar thickness varies sinusoidally. Type ll is an alternation of thick and thin laminae as a couplet. Type I is inferred as a product of varying tidal energy during a semimonthly (neap-spring) tidal cycle, in which thicker laminae were deposited during spring tides and thinner laminae were formed during neap tides. Type ll is interpreted to have been formed by asymmetric semidiurnal tidal currents in association with diurnal inequality, whereby thick lamina of each couplet represents dominant tidal current and the thin lamina reflects subordinate tidal current.

인천국제공항의 21세기 동북아 중추공항으로서의 역할 (Inchon International Airport's Role in the 21st Century as Northeast Asia's Hub Airport)

  • Kimpo International Airport, located within the Seoul metropolitan district, experienced a sudden surge of passengers and cargo in recent years. In 1990, MOCT sponsored feasibility studios and Youngjong Island location was selected as the most suitable choice among four proposed sites to build a new airport. The construction work was then commenced in November 1992. Phase I project facilities are scheduled to start its operation in March 2001 with an annual capacity of 27 million passengers and 1.7 million tons of cargo for both enplaning and deplaning from International liners. Kimpo International Airport will remain in operation primarily for domestic passengers and cargo only. Phase II project construction work will add two more runways with its related facilities by 2005. Inchon International Airport will then conveniently serve 100 million passengers for enplaning and deplaning, and 7 million tons of inbound and outbound cargo annually in its full capacity. All the airport facilities In phase I and phase II periods are constructed to meet international standards. A fully integrated transportation network and logistics function systems should be accomplished prior to the full operation of the airport. With these sccomplishments, the state-of-the-art airport is poised to meet the needs of a rapidly growing worldwide air transport industry, and will more than adequately fulfill its role as a hub airport for the Northeast Asia region.

영종도 112블록의 AMI 데이터를 이용한 물 사용 패턴 분석 (Analysis of pattern of water usage using AMI data in 112 block of Youngjong island)

  • 취수원에서 정수장과 배수지를 거쳐 수용가에 이르기까지 공급되는 급수량을 결정하는데 있어 각 수용가별 물 사용 패턴은 수요량을 예측하여 취수량을 결정하는데 있어 매우 중요한 지표이다. 생활용수 추정은 용도별(가정용, 상업용, 공업용 등)로 분류하여 경향성이 나타날 수 있도록 과거 사용실적을 바탕으로 장래 용도별 사용량을 추정한다. 이는 경험을 바탕으로 한 것으로 일반적으로 시계열 모형을 이용하는데 수요예측의 실패 가능성이 높으며 효율적인 방법이라 할 수 없다. 이에 본 연구에서는 최근 통신기술의 발달로 양방향 통신이 가능한 AMI(Advanced Metering Infrastructure, 원격검침인프라)센서를 영종도 112블록의 528개의 수용가에 설치하였다. AMI는 스마트 미터에서 측정한 데이터를 원격 검침기를 통해 물 사용량을 자동으로 계측할 수 있다. AMI 데이터를 이용하여 영종도 112블록의 운북동과 운서동의 각 용도별, 요일별, 그리고 도심지와 농가의 실시간 물 사용 패턴을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 운북동과 운서동의 물 사용 패턴은 비슷한 경향을 보이는 것으로 보이나 도시화된 운서동에 비해 운북동의 물사용량이 상대적으로 적고 첨두사용량의 발생시간 또한 빠른 것으로 나타났다. 또한 가정용과 공공용의 경우 시간별 물 사용량이 요일에 따라 일정한 경향이 있으나 상업용과 공업용은 일정한 사용량을 보였다. 향후 112블록의 관망해석에 실시간 물사용 패턴을 적용하여 효율적으로 급수량 결정을 할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

서해안 염생식물 퉁퉁마디의 발아지속과 복원 (Germination Continuity and Restoration of Salicornia europaea, Halophyte in West-coast of Korea)

  • Salicornia europaea (glasswort) is succulent, annual, halophytic plant mainly distributed throughout reclaimed land or salt marsh. It has strong tolerance to salt so that it plays the part of the pioneer species in the first succession. According to domestic and foreign studies, S. europaea contains plenty of minerals and antioxidant in the body. Since people take note of an availableness of this plant as health diet, the natural growth sites are threatened. In addition to development of salt marsh and sea shore, imprudent harvest has a bad effect to S. europaea population maintenance. To seek ways to preserve the population of this plant, we carried out the continuity of seed germination and restoration test. Seokmo Island, Daebu Island, Youngjong Island and Sudokwon landfill in Korea are selected sites for research. Result of germination continuity shows that most S. europaea seeds germinate on March but no more after July. However the germination was occurred after that time in the greenhouse. So we concluded that no germination after July is a matter of environmental condition not the number of remaining seeds. Also germination was seldom occurred in the spot where seeds production was not happened. In result of continuity test of seed germination by soil depth, germination was occurred vigorously only in top soil. From these results, we note that most S. europaea germinate in the early spring, and germination is finished by July. And this rapid germination speed makes the number of seeds in soil seed bank rare. If a large number of S. europaea in some area are harvested after July, the number of this species will dramatically decrease in that area the following year. In Seokmo Island, we carried out reintroduction experiment by sowing S. europaea seeds. On the first year, a small number of S. europaea settled and they produced seeds successfully. On April 2010, the second year, we observed many S. europaea in seed sowing sites. And we found out that plowing is more efficient than treatment sea water for settlement of S. europaea.

경기만 퇴적물의 중금속 분포 특성 (Characteristics of Metal Distribution in the Sediment in Kyeonggi Bay, Korea)

  • 본 연구는 경기만 표층 퇴적물의 지화학적 특징과 입도분포와의 관계를 조사하기 위해서 수행되었다. 1995년 12월에 채집한 총 90 개 퇴적물 시료를 대상으로 입도분포, 유기탄소와 중금속 함량(Al, Fe, Mn, V, Co, Ni, Cr, Zn, Cu)을 분석하였다. 또한 1981년에 조사된 자료와 비교함으로써 그 동안의 변화를 파악하고자 하였다. 퇴적물 입자의 크기는 몇몇 지역에서 1981년과는 다른 양상을 보였다. 1994년에 완공된 시화방조제 부근의 퇴적물은 이전에 비해서 세립해졌다. 공항건설을 위한 매립공사가 진행되고 있는 영종도 부근의 퇴적물의 경우 세립한 퇴적상에서 혼합 퇴적상으로 변하였다. 유기물과 중금속 함량은 전반적으로 입도에 의존적인 분포를 보이고 있지만, 인천북항의 퇴적물에서는 입도와 무관하게 유기물과 Ni, Cr, Zn 그리고 Cu 등의 중금속이 높은 농도로 농축되어 있었다.
