Optical Configurations for an Achromatic Transflective Liquid Crystal Cell

  • We propose optical configurations of a double-cellgap liquid crystal cell for transflective displays with wide viewing angle and high contrast ratio. The reflective part is designed in the wide-band quarter wave structure to achieve good dark state. For the transmissive part, the compensation method is applied to achieve the super-achromatic dark state, and three switching methods are used : which are vertical switching, horizontal switching to $30^{\circ}$and horizontal switching to $120^{\circ}$, to achieve the bright state.

  • In this paper, pseudomeasurements have decided using real-time measurements and forecasting data in order to reduce the difference between accuracy of real-time measurements and pseudomeasurements. A decided pseudomeasurement by means of the presented method can look for estimated solution as compared to conventional pseudomeasurement because there is no difference between accuracy of measurements. The simulations are carried out for test systems and corresponding results are presented.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the STEAM educational program based on the computer programming. STEAM education has been recently attracted to a lot of people. We had a focus of computer science in STEM fields. We used the programming language f or learning KODU. We selected appropriate topics for STEAM education and learning programming. We developed the educational program of 30 hours about selected topics and had classes for 4th and 5th grade elementary students. In order to verify the effectiveness of the educational program, we analyzed the results of pre- and posttest about GALT(Group Assessment of Logical Thinking), TTCT(Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking), science-related affective domain, and mathematical interests and attitudes tests. In the analysis results, the education program we developed had positive impacts on creativity, logical thinking, and science-related affective domain of elementary school students.
