The aim of this study is to research on the recognitions and preferences of Puffer fish consumers with the recently increasing well-being trend. To carry out this research, the main analysis was focused on two specific points: how much consumers perceive swellfish and which kinds of Puffer fish foods are preferred by consumers. Although the consumption of Puffer fish is gradually expending, at the same time, there are also numerous obstructive elements in consuming swellfish. In this regard, this test on Puffer fish food will be able to contribute to show an outlook for the Puffer fish food market in the future and to promote consumption of Puffer fish as well. Methodologically, a statistical research was adopted to find out how people understand Puffer fish and the patterns of their choices and intensive examinations were conducted throughout the collected questionnaire. For a more effective outcome, it was necessary to divide into two groups, the Nation's capital area with Seoul as a center, the most densely populated area and Busan, the biggest marine products consumption area, examining the inclination to consume with regions. In the concrete, the detailed research survey on the Puffer fish were performed with the opinions of the five hundred people from capital area and the five hundred people from Busan area. The difference and common features of consumer's recognition about Puffer fish food were founded through cross analysis according to age, gender, regions, and income. In conclusion, this research showed the difference tastes and recognition standards toward Puffer fish among consumers from Seoul and Busan areas. If it is possible to apply this result to the efforts of improving supplier's understanding about Puffer fish consumers' features and cultivating new Puffer fish items, it could contribute to the further consumption of Puffer fish food in the long term point of view.

A comparison of the growth, hematological values, fatty acids, and gonadal and growth hormonal changes of river puffer, Takifugu obscurus, tiger puffer, T. rubripes, their hybrids (river puffer ${\times}$ tiger puffer) and hybrid triploids was performed during 3 months of their early growth period. Several features were observed during these 3 months: hybrids showed the highest levels of specific growth rate, 1.48%; hybrid triploids showed the smallest change in viscera fat (P<0.05), but GSI was not significantly different among groups (P>0.05). Considering hematological parameters, hybrid triploids had increased mean corpuscular volume and mean corpuscular hemoglobin (P<0.05), but other parameters were not significantly different between groups (P>0.05). With respect to fatty acids, puffer fish, hybrids and hybrid triploids contained fatty acids such as SFAs, MUFAs, n-3 PUFAs and n-6 PUFAs. There were significantly different amounts of total fatty acids between groups (P<0.05), however, rates of changes in fatty acids did not differ significantly between groups (P>0.05). Gonadal hormone (estradiol and testosterone) changes in the river puffer and tiger puffer were significantly higher than that observed in hybrids and hybrid triploids. The hybrids and tiger puffers had higher amounts of growth hormone (thyroid stimulating hormone and thyroxine) than the hybrid triploids and river puffers (P<0.05).

In fish, light (photoperiod, intensity and spectra) is main regulator in many physiological actions including growth. We investigate the effect of light spectra on the somatic growth and growth-related gene expression in the rearing tiger puffer. Fish was reared under different light spectra (blue, green and red) for 8 weeks. Fish body weight and total length were promoted when reared under green light condition than red light condition. Expression of somatostatins (ss1 and ss2) in brain were showed higher expression under red light condition than green light condition. The ss3 mRNA was observed only higher expression in blue light condition. Expression of growth hormone (gh) in pituitary was detected no different levels between experimental groups. However, the fish of green light condition group was showed more high weight gain and feed efficiency than other light condition groups. Our present results suggest that somatic growth of tiger puffer is induced under green light condition because of inhibiting ss mRNA expression in brain by effect of green wavelength.

A computational approach was developed to understand about the arc quenching process in a gas circuit breaker(GCB). This approach is a program to analyze the gas flow in the breaker. The arc is processed at the same time. The program was used the so-called FLIC method for gas analysis techniques. It was referenced that the arc is interpreted the 'a Simplified Enthalpy Flow Arc Model'. In order to validate about the results of the program, a Auto Puffer GCB was chosen as the test subject. Because, the breaker is the one that arc current is interrupted by using the arc heating. And also, the current interrupting capability can be obtained only owing to the positive utilization(auto puffer) of the clogging phenomenon, without other puffer actions. In this paper, it has been realized that the entire arc quenching process is computerized, which is based on the self-flow current interruption by the auto puffer action. This program, which was verified through experiments, produced good results.
Experiments were performed to find out the physico-chemical properties of milt, and morphological changes of cryopreserved spermatozoa in tiger puffer, Takifugu rubripes. The average number of sperm and spermatocrit in milt stripped were $9.81{\pm}0.34{\times}10^{10}/m{\ell}$ and $97.8{\pm}0.8$, respectively. While total lipid concentration from seminal fluid was higher than that from sperm, total protein concentration from sperm was higher than that from seminal fluid, Na and K concentrations in sperm and those in seminal fluid were similar each other, However, glucose from sperm and seminal fluid were not detectable. Spermatozoon of tiger puffer was consisted of head, middle Piece and tail. Size of head showing horseshoe shape was $0.65{\pm}0.10{\mu}m$ in diameter and $1.35{\pm}0.30{\mu}m$ in length. The head fully containing chromatin did not have acrosome. Mitochondrion in middle piece was $0.2{\mu}m$ in average diameter and flagellum showed 9+2 structure. A few of cryopreserved spermatozoa showed morphologically loose or swollen plasma membranes.
The objective of this study was to investigate the essential fatty acids requirement and its optimal level in dietary for young of tiger puffer. The young puffer fish used in feeding trial were average body weight 3.45g. Fish were randomly divided into 11 groups containing 30 fish each in 200 ${\ell}$ tank and reared for 8 weeks at ambient temperature. In basal diets, defatted squid meal, casein-Na and activated gluten were used as the dietary protein source, dextrin and ${\alpha}$-starch (gelatinized starch) as the digestible carbohydrate source and beef tallow as the lipid source. Five fatty acids added to diet were linoleic acid (LNA), linolenic acid (LNA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) ,docos-ahexaenoic acid (DHA) and n-3 HUFA. Among that, the supplement of LA and LNA were $1\%$ of total composition of diet, respectively, and EPA, DHA and n-3 HUFA ranged from $0.3\~1\%$ level. Growth and feed efficiency were measured to the interval of 2 weeks, and analyzed fatty acids composition of diet and liver by GCL. As a result of 8 weeks experiment, predominant growth were shown in $0.5\~1\%$ n-3 HUFA and $0.5\%$ DHA than others (P<0.05). In comparison of efficiency among EPA, DHA and n-3 HUFA groups, the most results were revealed in n-3 HUFA and the least in EPA. The adding effect was shown in EPA by increasing the fatty acids content from 0.5 to $1\%$ in diet. However, sudden decline and steady state in growth were observed in $1\%$ DHA and $1\%$ n-3 HUFA, respectively. The feeding efficiency and protein efficiency ratio were high in n-3 HUFA groups and $0.5\%$ DHA. Consequently, it is assumed that young puffer requires n-3 HUEA both EPA and DHA as essential fatty acids. The optimal content in diets are about $0.5\%$ of HUFA or DHA.

To obtain the basic data for the preservation of river puffer (Takifugu obscurus) sperm, experiments were carried out on the physico-chemical properties and cold storage of milt. The average number of sperm and spermatocrit in milt stripped were $1.13\pm0.34\times10^{10}/ml$ and 64.8$\pm$1.4, respectively. Osmolality of seminal fluid was 266$\pm$2 mOsm/kg, Total protein and total lipid from sperm were higer than that from seminal fluid. $Ca^{2+}$ and $Na^{+}$ concentrations were higher in the seminal fluid than in the sperm, while $Mg^{2+}$ and $K^{+}$ concentrations were lower in the seminal fluid. When sperm of river puffer were preserved in $0\pm0.5^{\circ}C$ with various diluents for 16 days, fertilization rate was $0\~0.7\%$. It suggested that cold storage of river puffer sperm was detrimental to sperm fertility.
In order to examine the effects of four different light spectra (white, red, green, and blue) on the oocyte maturation, the change of reproductive parameters, via brain-pituitary-gonad (BPG) axis in grass puffer, were investigated. After exposure four different light spectra for 7 weeks, the abundance of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) mRNA which is a type of seabream (sbGnRH) and two different subunit of gonadotropin hormones mRNAs, follicle-stimulating hormone ($fsh{\beta}$) mRNA and luteinizing hormone ($lh{\beta}$) mRNA, were analyzed in the brain and pituitary. Histological analysis showed that the mature oocyte ratio in the green spectrum was higher than other light spectra-exposed groups. Gonadosomatic index (GSI) and oocyte developmental stage were also investigated in the gonad based on histological observations. GSI value with the presence of yolk stage oocytes was significantly increased in the green spectrum-exposed group when compared to that of the other light-exposed groups (white, red, and blue) (p<0.05). The abundances of sbGnRH mRNA and $fsh{\beta}$ mRNA in the green spectrum-exposed group were also significant higher than those of the other light spectra-exposed groups (p<0.05). These results indicate that the maturation of oocyte in grass puffer can be accelerated by exposure to the spectrum of green. To better understand the molecular mechanism for the maturation of oocyte in grass puffer, further study examining the relationship between oocyte development and its related genes is required.
The early development, growth, and morphological changes of Tiger puffer Takifugu rubripes are described on the basis of a seres of a series of reared specimens. Detailed o수 the early developmental stages are illusrtated withe special reference to morphological transformation. Egg and sperm of puffer fish Takifugu rubripes were obtained from mature adults under natural conditions, ferilized artificially and incubated in the laboratory. The incubation period of fertilizd eggs was 160 to 180 hours at a temperature of $15.1~ 18.0^{\circ}C$. Larvae were fed successively with rotifer, Artemia nauplii and artificial food for 90 days. The mean total length of newly-hatched larvae was about 2.8mm. Mouth opening occurred on the 1- day yolk-sac larvae and initial feeding was observed on th 4-5 days after hatching . The morphological transitions from the larvae to juvenile and juvenile and juvenile to young stages occurred when fish reached about 10mm in total length(about 30 days after hatching) and about 32mm in total length(about 60days after hatching) , respectively. The coefficient of variation in total length distribution increased with growth. Following the appearance of its peak at the size of about 18mm in total length, the coefficient value declined. Many changes in proportion of the body parts to total length were observed at about 9~10mm and 30~33mm in total length, corresponding to the transformations from larvae to juvenile and from juvenile to young, respectively. Also one big morphological change was observed at about 18mm in total length that divide the juvenile stage into two sub-stages.
