The aim of this study was to assess the people's need for visiting health services in a rural area. In recent years, the great concern for the visiting health services has aroused in Korea. Stratified cluster sample for a household survey was used to select 1,255(8.4%) Households from Yonchon county. This study was undertaken from July 26 to August 7 in 1993. Medically defined need, usually expressed by the prevalencies or rates of specific disease, was evaluated with the use of criteria established by medical and nursing professors and expressed by the percent of specific objects for the visiting health services. Perceived need represented by the acceptability for the visiting services and willingness to paying for it, also, evaluated. The major results were as follows : 1. Of the 348 patients with hypertension, 201 were the non-compliant patients, the rate of the non-compliant hypertension patients in 4,577 study population was 7.4%. 2. Of the 141 diabetic patients, 73 were the non-compliant patients, the rate of the non-compliant hypertension patients in 4,577 sample population was 2.7%. 3. The number of patients with severe musculo-skeletal disease was 24, the rate was 0.9% above the age 30. 4. Of the 514 elderly, 33 were the elderly without any family member, the rate was 8.4%. Those with severely decreased activity of daily living were 13. 5. Infants with high risks were 12, pregnant women and neonates were 5, patients discharged within 1 week and with special equipments such as peritoneal dialysis, stoma, TPN etc. were 17, and patients with cancer were 5. Total number of the objects needed visiting health services was 752(18.43%) of the 4,577 study population. Perceived need evaluated were as follows; The acceptance rate of visiting health services was 74.9%, The kinds of visiting health services such as family health protection and promotion, early detection of hypertension, physiotherapy, health education and counseling were needed in the order of high rate The price willing to pay for visiting health services per visit was about 3,000-5,000Won. In conclusion, Visiting health services programme to be developed should have priority to the prevention of complications of chronic disease such as hypertension, diabetes milletus, elderly disease and health promotion.

In an effort to expand working opportunities for women and encourage childbirth, the government of Korea introduced the free infant care policy in 2013. This policy, however, was controversial with regard to issues, such as budget shortages and dissatisfaction based on socioeconomic status. In addition, the lack of evidence-based data regarding adequate age criteria for the entry of children into childcare facilities was noted as a challenge. As child development professionals who are concerned with mental health issues, we investigated the influence and challenges of the free infant care policy with regard to infant mental health. In this review, we examined the policies enacted by developed countries, such as the United Kingdom (UK), and compared them with those in Korea. The childcare systems in Korea and the UK differ historically and socially, but show some similarities, such as maternal responsibility for parenting and household issues. Like Korea, the need for UK childcare facilities increased in the 1990's in response to market recovery and associated increase in female employment. Among the new policies in the UK, the Sure Start program has begun to provide integrated services for infants, particularly to those 0-4 years of age, who are vulnerable to social exclusion. Similar to the Dream Start program in Korea, it has been successful in providing family-related services, resulting in improvements in problematic behaviors of children, enhanced parenting skills, and decreased rates of severely injured children.
This study conducted surveys on perception and utilization of Korean soybean paste targeting 493 women from their 20s to 60s residing in Daegu. Most subjects married (75.3%), were part of a nuclear family (84.8%), had more than a high school diploma (95.8%), had a career (47.9%), lived in an apartment (68.4%), had a total household income of 5 million won or more (38.1%), and had monthly food expenses more than 0.5 million won and less than 1 million won (42.2%). Regarding perception, 'rich nutrition' was the most commonly held perception in subjects in their 60s (4.4), followed by 'good taste' in subjects in their 40s (4.3). Regarding reasons for consumption 'healthy' was highest in subjects in their 60s (47.3%) and 40s (45.6%) and 'delicious' in subjects in their 20s (56.1%). Regarding how to make it, subjects in their 60s responded 'know for sure' (57.1%), while only 2% of 20s responded the same. Subjects in their 50s and 60s had a higher ratio of answering 'know' while 20s and 30s 'don't know', For preparation methods, subjects in their 20s (53.1%) and 30s (41.4%) answered 'buy at the market', subjects in their 40s (68.9%) 'get from family or relatives' and subjects in their 60s (47.3%) 'make by one's own'. For preservation method, subjects in their 20s and 30s answered 'preserve in refrigerator', the 60s tend to answer 'preserve in jangdokdae'. Buying at the market was most common in subjects in their 20s (36.1%) and 30s (28.5%) and the reason was 'convenient' (39.6%). The place of purchase was 'in large supermarket or department store' (78.5%). For the future consumption pattern, 'increase in consumption of commercialized product (44.0%)', subjects in their 60s answered 'keep making at home' while subjects in their 30s and 40s answered 'keep making at home or buying product half and half'. According to the above study results, women living in Daegu region were aware of excellence of traditional soybean paste. However, due to changes in residential circumstance and lack of knowledge about the recipe, they did not make. They receive soybean paste t from family, relatives or bought in the market, which indicates the continuous decrease in home-made soybean paste. Therefore, due to the expanding social participation of women, the product market is expected to increase. I think it is important to develop traditional commercial soybean paste in the traditional way to improve the traditional flavors.
Objectives: To identify the factors associated with the intention to undergo mammography among Korean women without a prior screening experience. Methods: Among 1,039 women of the general population, we selected 145 women (mean age: 54.2 years, age range : 40-78 years) without any prior experience with mammography. They were recruited for the 'Cancer Information Needs Assessment Survey' by using the method of random multi-stage cluster sampling. Data on the socio-demographic characteristics, intention to undergo mammography based on the Precaution Adoption Process Model, level of self belief and self efficacy for breast cancer screening, motivation for decision to undergo breast cancer screening were obtained by conducting a household survey. Results: Of the study subjects, 49.7% were classified as "unengaged" and "decided not to act" regarding breast cancer screening. Women with the intention to undergo mammography were more likely to be younger (OR 0.11, 95%CI 0.04-0.36), to have been recommended to undergo screening by others (OR 3.27, 95%CI 1.36-7.87), to have a high level of perceived sensitivity (OR 3.15, 95%CI 1.27-7.82), and to have a high level of self efficacy (OR 1.09, 95%CI 0.97-1.23). Exposure to campaigns and information regarding breast cancer screening, whether cancer patients are or not in around, perceived severity, perceived benefit, and perceived cost were factors that were not significantly associated with the intention to undergo mammography. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop tailored intervention strategies for women who have never undergone breast cancer screening on the basis of their demographic characteristics and factors that positively influence the intention to undergo mammography.
Solar and wind energy among the renewable energy produce irregular power because resource is difficult to control. When connected to grid have unstable. However, when the fuel cell system is connected to grid more stable because regular frequency and output power based on controllable hydrogen energy. To using fuel cell system in the household, it is important that the safety performance of power conditioning system(PCS) and it is important that evaluation method of electromagnetic compatibility(EMC). In this study, we consider that introduce power-frequency magnetic field immunity test before analyzed that compare with the EMC of the international standards and KGS AB 934 PC53. Also, we conduct that actual assessment and study on available the quantitative analysis as using complementary indicator.
Family has emerged as a key concept for health, and it has been identified as one of the most important conditions. The relationship between health habit and its management is different depending on family. The odd pair family, mostly rural lower income class, worry to have poor health because of no spouse and small family size. One thousand eight hundred and seventy(1870) subjects were collected in 9 provinces through the sampling of Probability Proportional to Size (PPS). Questionnaire method was conducted on health checking, bath states, alcohol consumption, cigarette smoking, and the prevalence of farmer's health related problems. The main results were as follows: 1) The characteristics of odd pair families are that the head of household is female(77% ), the size of family is small(1.76 persons), the education level is low(7.5 years for male, 3.1 years for female) and the age group is old (male: 89.78 year old, female: 73.69 year old). 2) For the odd pair family, the frequency of health checking is quite low with one or two times per year(l0.2%) and the rate of no-health checking is much higher(35.8%) .3) Bathing utility is not available 29.6% of the odd pair family and only cold water is supplied at home for the 11.5 % of them. However, for the paired family, 9.8 % of them has no bathing utility and the rate of the family supplied with only cold water is just 7.9%. 4) The bathing frequency score of odd pair family is l.74points for male and 1.25 points for female. 5) The rate of smoking habits for odd pair family is 68.5 % and specially it is 7.6% for female, which is higher comparing with that of pair family. 6) The smoking frequency score of odd pair family is 1.57 points. 7) Alcohol drinking frequency score of odd pair family is 1.79 points for male, and 3.24points for female. 8) Farmers' syndrome(FS) revealed 38.7% of odd pair family and it is lower than that of pair family(57.3%). Special pain of FS was huckle bone and muscle(28.4%) and articular pain(24.l %). The pain rate of huckle bone and muscle(43.l %) and articular pain(33.5%) were higher in a year in odd pair family were lower than those of pair family: farming machine caused accidents(6.5%) and pesticide poisoning(5.7%). l0) The odd pair family use more frequently medical clinic or public health center for the treatment of FS(74.7%) and pesticide poisoning(62.5%) than the pair family for FS(69.0%) and for pesticide poisoning(.53.6%). The score of FS treatment is 5.70 points for odd pair family and it is not significantly different from 5.62 points of the paired family. The result of pesticide poisoning treatment score is as same as that of FS.

The Korean government is considering implementation of the marine ecosystem restoration technology program (MERTP) to analyze the current status of the marine ecosystems and causes for the ecosystem deterioration as well as to eventually establish a master strategic plan for restoring ecosystem functions and preventing ecosystem functional loss. In order to determine likelihood of successful implementation, it is essential to perform an analysis of the economic feasibility of the program. The present study assessed economic feasibility of the MERTP. To this end, the dichotomous choice contingent valuation (CV) method is used. In particular, dichotomous choice (DC) format is employed as a method of eliciting willingness-to-pay (WTP) response to incentive-compatible mechanisms. The study also employed the spike model to deal with zero WTP responses from the DC CV survey. This survey of 1,000 randomly selected households in accordance with the guidelines provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (USA) was carried out nationwide in 2013. And, the respondents were asked in person-to-person interviews about their WTP for implementing the MERTP. The results showed that the annual mean WTP was estimated to be 5,414 won per household. Consequently, the annual benefit from the MERTP would be about 98.6 billion won for the next five years. Economic feasibility assessment utilizing the MERTP investment cost and expansion cost of the value provided that net present value, benefit/cost ratio, and internal rate of return are 337.8 billion won, 5.20, and 65.9 %, respectively, which are bigger than 0, 1.0, and 5.5 %, and that the MERTP passes the cost-benefit analysis.

The current study attempted to assess the environmental value of Geum-river estuary for rational management decision-making. To investigate the comprehensive properties of the Geum-river estuary, we applied the contingent valuation method based on multi-attribute utility theory. We surveyed a randomly selected sample of 400 and 600 households of the Geum-river estuary-neighboring area (Jeollabuk-do, Chungcheongnam-do), and other nation-wide large districts (except Jeollabuk-do, Chungcheongnam-do, and Jeju-do), respectively, and carried out person-to-person interviews with subjects on their willingness-to-pay for the estuary conservation and management program. Respondents, overall, accepted the contingent market system and were willing to contribute a significant amount, that is 1,497 won for the residents from the Geum-river estuary-neighboring area and 4,343 won for the residents from other nation-wide large districts on average, per household per year. These results implied that there were large difference between the two groups. The aggregate values of the Geum-river estuary for the estuary-neighboring area and other nation-wide large districts amount to 2.13 and 70.15 billion won, respectively, per year. This quantitative value deduced from the current study, could be a useful baseline fact for any decision-making process particularly in the establishment of management policies for the Geum-river estuary.
