Objective: This case study describes the use of traditional Korean medicine to relieve chest pain and headaches in a patient with ischemic heart disease. Methods: The patient was treated with a range of traditional Korean medicine, including acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicines (Gamiondam-tang and Cheonmabanhwa-tang-gagambang). The Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) was used to measure the patient's status and improvements in the frequency of symptoms. Results: After the treatment, the NRS score for chest pain and headaches decreased from 6 to 0. In addition, chest discomfort and palpitations almost subsided. Conclusion: This clinical case study suggested that Gamiondam-tang and Cheonmabanhwa-tang-gagambang could be effective in relieving chest discomfort and headaches.

The present study purposed to examine differences between 20s and 40s in visuospatial performance, the number of activated yokels and cerebral lateralization using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). For this study, eight college students in their twenties (21.5 years on the average) and six adults in their forties (45.7 years on the average) participated in the experiment. Functional brain images were taken from 37 MRI using the single-shot EPI method. Compared to the twenties the forties showed lower visuospatial performance and longer reaction time. In addition, compared to the twenties the forties had a smaller number of activated yokels and less cerebral lateralization. The results of this study show that people's visuospatial performance and number of activated yokels decrease with aging. In addition, they also suggest that cerebral lateralization decreases in order to supplement the lowering of visuospatial performance, which in turn symmetrizes the activation of the left and right hemisphere.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the local government's regulation on facilities and the operation method of the small library provided for in 'the Ordinance on the Support for Installation and Operation of Small Libraries', and investigate and analyze the satisfaction with the services and needs on the part of users of small libraries, thus suggesting an effective management plan for them. In this study, literature reviews and questionnaire surveys were conducted simultaneously using monographic publications, theses, legal materials and Internet sites. As for study results, an effective management plan for small libraries was suggested as follow with its division into five realms; that is, facilities, materials, manpower, programs and network.

In this paper, a metamorphosed genetic algorithm based on the meiosis for human's chromosome is presented. In the algorithm, chromosomes in an individual are divided in half and in the other are divided into other rate. By our definition, they are composed of gametes with X-type chromosomes or Y-type chromosomes or especially M(mutation)-type chromosomes. When tow gametes among them are randomly selected and recombined, the new individual is correspondingly generated. Without reducing the searching space significantly, the global solution can be readily searched by new generated individual. The performance of he presented algorithm is examined and evaluated through proper simulation using test functions.

The determination of a regression model is important in using statistical designs of experiments. Generally, the exact regression model is not known, and experimenters suppose that a certain model form will be fit. Then an experimental design suitable for that predetermined model form is selected and the experiment is conducted. However, the initially chosen regression model may not be correct, and this can result in undesirable statistical properties. We develop model-robust experimental designs that have stable prediction variance for a family of candidate regression models over a cuboidal region by using genetic algorithms and the desirability function method. We then compare the stability of prediction variance of model-robust experimental designs with those of the 3-level face centered cube. These model-robust experimental designs have moderately high G-efficiencies for all candidate models that the experimenter may potentially wish to fit, and outperform the cuboidal design for the second-order model. The G-efficiencies are provided for the model-robust experimental designs and the face centered cube.

Mankind has had various medical treatments and theories as the result of steady researches about many diseases. Medical science has something to do with religions closely. That is, he tries to solve the problem connected with his life through medicine, while he tries to overcome the fear of death through the religion. Also I have tried to establish the relations between Oriental medicine. This research shows that the relation between Taoism and medical morals(醫德). The results of this research are following. The moral consciousness in medicine is the one of great traditions in Oriental medicine which comes to the front by Sun-Si-Miao(孫思邈). That is influenced by the ethical view that a moral act influences the long and the short of life. ${\ulcorner}$Tai-Ping-Jing(太平經)${\lrcorner}$ says that man enjoys longevity if he tends his parents with filial piety and then is aware of the principle of heaven and earth. Sun-Si-Miao teaches in Da-Yi-Jing-Cheng(大醫精誠) that 'Treat the patient impartially', 'Don't weigh the merits when treating the patient', 'Avoid the use of animal medicines as you can.', 'As a man sows, so he shall reap.', Don't be jealous and don't be proud.', which are closely related to main principles about act and taboo suggested in ${\ulcorner}$Bao-Piao-Zi(抱朴子)${\lrcorner}$

It is generally recommended to use EVM as an efficient means for measuring project performance and progress so that the EVMS user could manage his project successfully. In spite of it's favorable intention, most project participants think it as a heavy load or a sub practiced job with low responsibility. Especially in a weapon system R&D project, the manager should consider a possibility to change plans in the middle of the project because of uncertainty coming from properties of the R&D project. Even though there are lots of variables triggering unpredictable troubles in EVM application, EVM still could be a valuable project health indicator. In this paper we introduce a case study of EVM application for weapon system development project. Furthermore, we suggest several solutions for the issues occurring in utilizing EVM.

This study investigated the inhibitory effect of ginsenoside-Rp1 (G-Rp1) on the ionizing radiation (IR)-induced response in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated macrophages and its effects on the malignancy of tumor cells. G-Rp1 inhibited the activation of IR-induced DNA damage-related signaling molecules and thereby interfered with the IR-increased production of nitric oxide (NO) and interleukin (IL)-1β. The inhibitory effect of G-Rp1 increased the survival rate of mice inoculated with CT26 colon cancer cells by suppressing the phenotypic variation of tumor cells induced by conditioned medium obtained from IR- and LPS-treated J774A.1 macrophages.

Pentacene based TFT showed a degraded mobility and saturation current (Ion) after exposure to the high energy ultraviolet (UV). In this article, we optimize the thickness of UV resisted layer on OTFT to restrain the degradation from protect layer deposition and study the UV aging effect of pentacene based TFT. The OTFT deivce with UV resisted layer could keep over 50% mobility after suffered UV $10^3J$.

Balance control deficits have been indicated to be a primary problem among cerebral palsy (CP) patients. Fabric ankle foot orthosis (AFO) can allow more efficient balance control by facilitating proprioception. The purpose of this study was to investigate the immediate effect of fabric AFO on balance, compared to a barefoot condition in children with unilateral CP. Twelve children with unilateral CP participated in this study. Their balance ability was evaluated using pediatric balance scale and bubble test. Both pediatric balance scale and bubble test showed significant improvement with the use of the fabirc AFO (p<.05). The fabric AFO could improve functional balance ability, and promote better balance among children with unilateral CP. We demonstrated that fabric AFO contributed to improving balance among children with unilateral CP, classified as Gross Motor Function Classification System level I and II. Consequently, fabric AFO might be an assistive device leading to the improvement of balance instead of the typical AFOs.
