The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between distance and factors of javelin in korean male's javelin throwing. To accomplish this purpose, the analyzed trail selected total 29 trails (subjects 9) recorded more than 65 m in the 93rd National Sports Festival. The Kwon3D 3.1 version was used to obtain the three dimensional coordinates about the top, grip, end of javelin. And the kinematic data such as projection factors and direction angle of javelin calculated using Matlab2009a program. The statical analysis on the records (n=29) were used to Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient. There was a statistically positive relationship between the records and horizontal velocity (r=.866, ${\rho}$<.01), height (r=.541, ${\rho}$ <.001), height rate (r=.373, ${\rho}$ <.05) and horizontal displacement of javelin (r=.749, ${\rho}$ <.01), but the medial/lateral velocity showed a negative relationship to r=-.663 (${\rho}$ <.01). The attack and yaw angle showed not a significant relationship between the records, but the medial-lateral tilt (E1:r =-.557 [p<.01)] E2:r=-.629 [${\rho}$<.01], E3:r=-.528 [${\rho}$ <.01]) and attitude angle (E2:r=-.629 [[${\rho}$<.01], E3:r=-.619 [${\rho}$ <.01]) of javelin showed a negative relationship between the records, as well as the projection angle of javelin (r=-.419, ${\rho}$ <.05) showed a negative relationship between the records.
It is important to predict the hydrodynamic maneuvering derivatives, which consist of the forces and moment acting on a hull during a maneuvering motion, when estimating the maneuverability of a ship. The estimation of the maneuverability of a ship with a change in the stern hull form is often performed at the initial design stage. In this situation, a method that can reflect the change in the hull form is necessary in the prediction of the maneuverability of the ship. In particular, the linear hydrodynamics maneuvering derivatives affect the yaw checking motion as the key factors. In the present study, static drift calculations were performed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) based on Reynolds Average Navier-Stokes (RANS) for a 40-segment hull. A prediction method for the linear hydrodynamic maneuvering derivatives was proposed using the slender body theory from the distribution of the lateral force acting on each segment of the hull. Moreover, the results of a comparison study to the model experiment for KVLCC1 performed by KRISO are presented in order to verify the accuracy of the static drift calculation. Finally, the linear hydrodynamic maneuvering derivatives obtained from both the model test and calculation are compared and presented to verity the usefulness of the method proposed in this study.

This paper presents a method to determine the rear steering angle in integrated chassis control with electronic stability control (ESC) and rear wheel steering (RWS). A control yaw moment needed to stabilize a vehicle should be distributed into the tire forces generated by the ESC and RWS. Weighted pseudo-inverse control allocation (WPCA) is adopted to determine the tire forces. Four methods are proposed to calculate the rear wheel steering angle. To validate the proposed methods, a simulation is performed using a vehicle simulation software package, CarSim. The simulation results show that the proposed method for determining the rear wheel steering angle improves the performance of the integrated chassis control.
The sweetpotato, Ipomoea batatas L. (Lam.), is one of the important summer upland crops in Korea and has been used as human food, industrial yaw material and vegetable. Sweetpotato has been consumed for human foods such as boiled, roasted, fried or salad etc. It should be developed for higher quality as a snack or health food, primarily through improving the eating and marketing qualities as well as nutritional value. Its quality after cooking or processing is a complex one combining the aroma, taste, texture and fiber content. The other important qualities for consumers are root shape, size, skin color, flesh color, insect and disease resistance, nutritional components and safety from phytoalexins(toxic stress metabolites) etc. Korean people generally prefer to red skin color, round or elliptic shape and dry texture, yellow flesh color of sweetpotato which is high in starch content including vitamins and nutrients. The almost factors of quality components of sweetpotato are genetically controlled by breeder, but postharvest handlings and marketing management for making high quality goods should be done thoroughly according to the quality evaluation criteria of sweetpotato from the moment of harvest until shipping them to the market by farmers and the other users. This paper describes current status and prospects of the quality evaluations and researches in sweetpotato roots in Korea.

This paper describes an integrated chassis control for a maneuverability, a lateral stability and a rollover prevention of a vehicle by the using of the ESC and AFS. The integrated chassis control system consists of a supervisor, control algorithms and a coordinator. From the measured and estimation signals, the supervisor determines the vehicle driving situation about the lateral stability and rollover prevention. The control algorithms determine a desired yaw moment for lateral stability and a desired longitudinal force for the rollover prevention. In order to apply the control inputs, the coordinator determines a brake and active front steering inputs optimally based on the current status of the subject vehicle. To improve the reliability and to reduce the operating load of the proposed control algorithms, a multi-core ECU platform is used in this system. For the evaluation of this system, a closed loop simulations with driver-vehicle-controller system were conducted to investigate the performance of the proposed control strategy.

This paper presents an optimum tire force distribution method for 6WD/6WS(6-Wheel-Drive and 6-Wheel-Steering) electric vehicles. Using an independent steering and driving system, the performance of 6WD/6WS vehicles can be improved, as, for example, with respect to their maneuverability under low speed and their stability at high speed. Therefore, there should be a control strategy for finding the optimum tire forces that satisfy the driver's command and minimize energy consumption. From the driver's commands (steering angle and accelerator/brake pedal stroke), the desired yaw moment, the desired lateral force, and the desired longitudinal force were obtained. These three values were distributed to each wheel as the torque and the steering angle, based on the optimum tire force distribution method. The optimum tire force distribution method finds the longitudinal/lateral tire forces of each wheel that minimize the cost function, which is the sum of the normalized tire forces. Next, the longitudinal/lateral tire forces of each wheel are converted into the reference torque inputs and the steering wheel angle inputs. The proposed method was tested through a simulation, and its effectiveness was verified.
Crabbing motion is the pure sway motion of a ship without surge velocity. Thus, it can be applied to a berthing operation. Crabbing motion is induced by a peculiar operation method called the push-pull mode. The push-pull mode is induced by using a combination of the main propeller and side thruster. Two propellers generating the same amounts of thrust and rotating in opposite directions produce some yawing moment on a vessel but do not induce longitudinal motion. With the additional operation of side thrusters, the push-pull mode is used to induce a large amount of lateral force. In this paper, three-degree-of-freedom equations of motion such as for the surge, sway, and yaw are constructed for the crabbing motion. Based on these equations of motion, a feedback linearization control method is applied to auto-berthing control for a twin-screw ship with side thrusters. The controller can deal with the nonlinearity of a system, which is present in the berthing maneuver of a twin screw ship. A simulation of the auto-berthing of a ship is performed to validate the performance of the designed controller.

This paper presents an adaptive variable weights tuning system for an integrated chassis control with electronic stability control (ESC) and active front steering (AFS) for lateral stability enhancement. After calculating the control yaw moment needed to stabilize a vehicle with a controller design method, it is distributed into the tire forces generated by ESC and AFS using weighted pseudo-inverse-based control allocation (WPCA). On a low friction road, lateral stability can deteriorate due to high vehicle speed. To cope with the problem, adaptive tuning rules on variable weights of the WPCA are proposed. To check the effectiveness of the proposed method, a simulation was performed on the vehicle simulation package, CarSim.

The wheel slip control systems are able to control the braking force more accurately and can be adapted to different vehicles more easily than conventional braking control systems. In order to achieve the superior braking performance through the wheel slip control, real-time information such as the tire braking force at each wheel is required. In addition, the optimal target slip values need to be determined depending on the braking objectives such as minimum braking distance, stability enhancement, etc. In this paper, a wheel slip control system is developed for maintaining the vehicle stability based on the braking monitor, wheel slip controller and optimal target slip assignment algorithm. The braking monitor estimates the tire braking force, lateral tire force and brake disk-pad friction coefficient utilizing the extended Kalman filter. The wheel slip controller is designed based on the sliding mode control method. The target slip assignment algorithm is proposed to maintain the vehicle stability based on the direct yaw moment controller and fuzzy logic. The performance of the proposed wheel slip control system is verified in simulations and demonstrates the effectiveness of the wheel slip control in various road conditions.
An accurate method of estimating ship maneuverability needs to be developed to evaluate precisely and improve the maneuverability of ships according to the water depth. In order to estimate maneuverability by a mathematical model. The hydrodynamic forces acting on a ship hull and the flow field around the ship in maneuvering motion need to be estimated. The ship speed new the berth is very low and the fluid flow around a ship hull is unsteady. So, the transient fluid motion should be considered to estimate the drag force acting on the ship hull. In the low speed and short time lateral motion, the vorticity is created by the body and grow up in the acceleration stage and the velocity induced by the vorticity affect to the body in deceleration stage. For this kind of problem, CFD is considered as a goof tool to understand the phenomena. In this paper, the 2D CFD code is used for basic consideration of the phenomena to solve the flow in the cross section of the ship considering the ship is slender and the water depth is large enough. The flow fields Added and hydrodynamic forces for the some prescribed motions are computed and compared with the preliminary experiment results. The comparison of the force with measurement is shown a fairly good agreement in tendency. The 3D Potential Calculation based on the Hess & Smith Theory is employed to predict the surge, sway added mass and yaw added moment of inertia of hydrodynamic coefficients for M/V ESSO OSAKA according to the water depth. The results are also compared with experimental data. Finally, the sway added mass of hydrodynamic coefficients for T/S HANNARA is suggested in each water depth.
