Y123와 Y211분말의 동시 합성과 YBCO 초전도 단결정 제조 (Method of simultaneous synthesize for Y123 and Y211 and fabrication of YBCO single crystal)

  • A common YBCO powder has been made from a mixture of Y123 and Y211 that heated at different temperatures, respectively. The synthesis temperature of Y211 is lower than Y123. If Y211 has been heated as a synthesis temperature of Y123, a particle size of it may be very coarse. It exist as one of main defects for superconductor. But We simultaneously synthesize a YBCO(its composition is (Y123+0.4Y211)+$lwt%CeO_2$) using polymeric complex method. In the YBCO, the Y123 is synthesized lower temperature than other methodes, and its crystal structure is orthorombic. For measurement of these superconducting properties, we fabricated a YBCO single crystal. The manufactured YBCO single crystal is measured a magnetic distribution device using 0.5Tesla magnet and trapped magnet fields in it are 0.2Tesla.

Bi-2223 선재와 YBCO Coated Conductor 선재의 전송전류 손실 비교 (Transport current loss of YBCO Coated Conductor and Bi-2223 tape)

  • AC loss is an important factor in the development of superconducting tapes and superconducting power applications. In this paper we measured and compared characteristics of BSCCO tape and YBCO Coated Conductor(YBCO CC). BSCCO tape was fabricated by PIT method. We measured critical current density and transport current loss of it. Also, YBCO CC tape consist of substrate. buffer, YBCO and metal layers. We measured critical current density on variations of external magnetic field and transport current loss of these cases. The results of measurement show that normalized critical current of YBCO CC is smaller then that of BSCCO tape in the external magnet field. According to the results. measured loss and calculated of the YBCO CC show the same tendency.

  • Magnetization loss of high temperature superconductoring BSCCO tape and YBCO coated conductor(YBCO CC) is most important issue in the development of superconducting power devices. In this paper, the measured results of magnetization losses in BSCCO tape and YBCO CC are presented and compared with each other. Measurements of magnetization losses are performed under various angles of external magnetic field to consider the anisotropic characteristics of YBCO CC. Also, we present the compared results of magnetization losses measured at arbitrary directional magnetic fields and analyzed with perpendicular magnetic field components of those. The results show that magnetization loss of YBCO CC agree well with the analyzed value by it's perpendicular magnetic field component, but BSCCO tape is not.

PEG 첨가에 의한 YBCO 후막 표면 변화 (Influence of PEG addition on the surface properties of YBCO Thick Films)

  • The properties of YBCO thick film coated on Ag wire with YBCO powder is deeply affected by cracking on its surface which was deposited in organic solution by electrophoretic method. YBCO superconducting thick films were prepared on Ag wire$({\Psi}0.8mm)$ by electrophoresis in acetone with added PEG (Poly-Ethylene Glycol, 3% in Acetone), 1ml for being crack-free. The surface properties of YBCO superconducting wire was evidently improved with adding PEG. Added PEG which molecular weight is 600, 1000, 3400 was affected with variation of deposition voltages to the surface properties of samples. As a result, with adding PEG (its molecular weight is 3400), YBCO superconducting wire was better on its surface properties.

YBCO CC테이프 임계전류의 인장변형률 특성 (Tensile Strain Characteristics of Critical Current in YBCO Coated Conductors)

  • The tensile strain dependency of critical current in YBCO coated conductors was examined at 77K and in the self magnetic field. A commercially available YBCO sample with Cu stabilizer layer was supplied. There existed a peak in the relation between the Ie and tensile strain, and the reversible variation of $I_c$ with applied tensile strain was found. In the neutral axis Ni alloy RABiTS-$Y_2O_3$/YSZ/$CeO_2$ buffered YBCO tape, the $I_c$ recovered reversibly until the applied strain reached to about 0.5%, representing that a significant residual compressive strain induced during cooling to 77 K influenced the axial strain tolerance of YBCO conductors. To investigate the strain and stress influence on the $I_c$, the stress-strain characteristics of YBCO conductors measured at 77 K were discussed.

  • The high-temperature superconductor YBa2Cu3O7-x (YBCO) have attached attentions because of a high superconducting transition temperature, low surface resistance, high superconducting critical current density (Jc), and superior superconducting capability under magnetic field. Moreover, the Jc of YBCO superconductors can be enhanced by adding impurities to the YBCO films for vortex-pinning. Understanding and controlling pinning centers are key factors to realize high Jc superconductors. We synthesized vertically-aligned ZnO nanorods on SrTiO3 (STO) substrates by catalyst-free metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD), and subsequently, deposited YBCO films on the ZnO nanorods/STO templates using pulsed laser deposition (PLD). The various techniques were used to analyze the structural and interfacial properties of the YBCO/ZnO nanorods/STO hybrid structures. SEM, TEM, and XRD measurements demonstrated that YBCO films on ZnO nanorods/STO were well crystallized with the (001) orientation. EXAFS measurements from YBCO/ZnO nanorods/STO at Cu K edge demonstrated that the local structural properties around Cu atoms in YBCO were quite similar to those of YBCO/STO.

  • YBCO Coated Conductor is named by Second generation Superconductor Tapes. It is different with First generation Superconductor Tapes. YBCO Coated Tape's Specific difference with BSCCO Tape is more strong mechanical Durability. This is important role to apply to Superconducting Machines. For mechanical transforming of YBCO Coated Tapes, We are using the well designed former. The Merit of Transformation is several. First, We vary the Superconducting Characteristics according to mechanical stress. Second, We reduce the Volume of Superconductor, So We achieve reducing the volume of Superconducting Machines. On this Study, We experiment the transporting Current Characteristics of two types YBCO Coated Conductor. The one is Stainless Stabilized YBCO Conductor, and the other one is Copper Stabilized YBCO Conductor.

  • We have designed and developed narrow bandpass multipole filters for satellite communication using $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$(YBCO) thin films on MgO substrates. The superconducting film used in this study was prepared by laser ablation on one side polished MgO (100) substrates. A Nd:YAG laser was used to fabricate YBCO thin films. The wave length of the laser was 355 nm. The laser beam was focused onto a YBCO target rotating linearly to avoid deep craters that may eject macroscopic YBCO particles. The YBCO films were grown at $750^{\circ}C$ in the oxygen partial pressure of 200 mTorr. The deposited YBCO thin films were patterned by conventional wet-etching method. The transition temperatures of YBCO thin films were 85 - 88 K and the film thicknesses were about 5,000 $\AA$. By comparing the performances of normal-metal filters and YBCO filters, we observed that superconducting YBCO multipole filters have been showed superior performances at 77 K.

  • 초전도 전력 기기를 안정적으로 운용하기 위해서는 고자장하에서 높은 임계 전류 밀도($J_c$)를 지닌 초전도체 개발이 필수적이다. 최근 고자기장에서 전기적 특성을 향상시키는 방법으로는 YBCO 박막선재에 인위적 피닝센터로 고자장하에서도 $J_c$가 크게 증가 되었다고 보고되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 STO(100) 기판 위에 SAM 방법을 이용하여 금 나노분말을 분산시킨 후 PLD로 YBCO 박막을 증착하여 미세구조와 전기적인 특성을 분석하였다. 분산된 금 나노분말은 열처리전 나노입자의 높이는 29~32 nm, 지름은 41~49 nm툴 나타내었고 $800^{\circ}C$에서 진공 열처리 후에는 높이는 25~30 nm, 지름은 52~60 nm로 변형되었다. 임계온도는 순수 YBCO에서 85 K을 나타냈지만 금 나노입자를 적용한 YBCO의 경우는 80K으로 낮아진 것을 확인하였다. 임계전류밀도는 4T에서 측정된 경우 65 K에서는 순수한 YBCO는 141 KA/$cm^2$에서 금 나노입자가 형성된 기판에 증착한 YBCO는 42 KA/$cm^2$로 낮아졌다.

  • We fabricated rapid single-flux-quantum RS flip-flop circuits with and without Y$_1$Ba$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{7-{\delta}}$(YBCO) ground plane. The circuit consists of SNS-type ramp-edge Josephson junctions that have cobalt-doped YBCO and Sr$_2$AITaO$_6$(SAT) for barrier layer and insulator layer, respectively. The fabricated Josephson junction showed a typical RSJ-like current-voltage(I-V) characteristics above 50K. We sucessfuly demonstrated RS flip-flop at temperatures around 50K. The RS flip-flop fabricated on ground plane showed more definite set and reset state in voltage-flux(V-${\phi}$) modulation curve for read SQUID, which may be attributed to a shielding effect of the YBCO ground plane.
