A Hardware Implementation of Moving Object Detection Algorithm using Gaussian Mixture Model (가우시안 혼합 모델을 이용한 이동 객체 검출 알고리듬의 하드웨어 구현)

  • In this paper, a hardware implementation of MOD(Moving Object Detection) algorithm is described, which is based GMM(Gaussian Mixture Model) and background subtraction. The EGML(Effective Gaussian Mixture Learning) is used to model and update background. Some approximations of EGML calculations are applied to reduce hardware complexity, and pipelining technique is used to improve operating speed. Gaussian parameters are adjustable according to various environment conditions to achieve better MOD performance. MOD processor is verified by using FPGA-in-the-loop verification, and it can operate with 109 MHz clock frequency on XC5VSX95T FPGA device.

  • [ $GF(2^m)$ ] for elliptic curve cryptosystem. The proposed multiplier uses Gaussian normal basis representation and produces multiplication results at a rate of one per [m/w] clock cycles, where w is the selected we.4 size. We implement the p.oposed design using Xilinx XC2V1000 FPGA device. Our design has significantly less critical path delay compared with previously proposed hard ware implementations.

  • Dehaze is essential for autonomous driving and intelligent CCTV to operate normally even in foggy weather. The method of airlight estimation is particularly important in dehaze technology. In this paper, we propose a patch-based airlight estimation algorithm and hardware structure that can reduce the amount of unnecessary computation and effectively estimate the airlight in various input images. Proposed algorithm is compared with the popular quad-tree method, and the hardware design is implemented by using XILINX's xc7z045-ffg900 target board as a structure that can satisfy to international standard 4K video in real time.

  • We can see the motion blur phenomenon on theedge of the moving picture when it moves in the LCDs. To reduce this phenomenon, we suggested a new over-deriving method, implemented on the board XUP Virtex-2 Pro Development System by using Virtex-2 Pro XUP XC2VP30 and improved the Motion Blur. In this method, we did not use additional parts except for a SDRAM. Hardware implementation for IP and data interface were handled in software. In this paper, we used the moving bar and the moving video image as a design model. We also showed that the afterimage was reduced and the vivid moving images was displayed. through this method.

  • Nucleophilic addition reactions of benzylamines $(XC_6H_4CH_2NH_2)$ to benzylidene Meldrum's acids (BMA; $YC_6H_4CH=C(COO)_2C(CH_3)_2$) have been investigated in acetonitrile at 20.0 ℃. The rates of addition are greatly enhanced due to the abnormally high acidity of Meldrum's acid. The magnitudes of the Hammett $({\rho}_X\;and\;{\rho}_Y)$ and Bronsted $({\rho}_X$)$ coefficients are rather small suggesting an early transition state. The sign and magnitude of the cross-interaction constant, ${\rho}_{XY}$ (= -0.33), and kinetic isotope effects $(k_H/k_D\;{\stackrel}{~}{=}\;1.5-1.7)$ involving deuterated benzylamine nucleophilies $(XC_6H_4CH_2ND_2)$ are indicative of hydrogen-bonded cyclic transition state. The activation parameters, ${\Delta}H^{\neq}\;{\stackrel}{~}{=}\;4\;kcal\;mol^{-1}\;and\;{\Delta}S^{\neq}\;{\stackrel}{~}{=}\;-37\;e.u.$, are also in line with the proposed mechanism.

  • The nucleophilic substitution reactions of bis(N,N-dimethylamino) phosphinic chloride (3) with substituted anilines ($XC_6H_4NH_2$) and deuterated anilines ($XC_6H_4ND_2$) are investigated kinetically in acetonitrile at $65.0^{\circ}C$. The anilinolysis rate of 3 is rather slow to be rationalized by the conventional stereoelectronic effects. The magnitudes of ${\rho}_X$ (= -6.42) and ${\beta}_X$ (= 2.27) values are exceptionally great. The deuterium kinetic isotope effects (DKIEs; $k_H/k_D$) are secondary inverse ($k_H/k_D$ = 0.69-0.96). A concerted $S_N2$ mechanism involving a backside attack is proposed on the basis of secondary inverse DKIEs and the variation trend of the $k_H/k_D$ values with X. The anilinolyses of six phosphinic chlorides in MeCN are briefly reviewed by means of DKIEs, steric effects of the two ligands, positive charge of the reaction center phosphorus atom, and selectivity parameters to obtain systematic information on phosphoryl transfer reaction mechanism.

  • By automatically generating HDL codes from C/C++ source codes, HLS makes it possible to shorten FPGA system developing period through easy timing control and structure change. We designed LDPC encoder for telemetry standard 106-17 with Xilinx Vivado HLS and showed hardware structure can be easily adapted for different purposes through minor C code modification. Synthesis results targeting Spartan-7 xc7s100 device are presented for throughput and hardware complexity comparison.

  • This paper describes an efficient hardware implementation of Whirlpool hash function as ISO/IEC 10118-3 standard. Optimized timing is achieved by using pipelined small LUTs, and Whirlpool block cipher and key schedule have been implemented in parallel for improving throughput. In key schedule, key addition is area-optimized by using inverters and muxes instead of using rom and xor gates. This hardware has been implemented on Virtex5-XC5VSX50T FPGA device. Its maximum operating frequency is about 151MHz, and throughput is about 950Mbps.

Quantitative Investigation of Grain Growth in Carbide Added(Mo$_2$C, ZrC and WC) to TiC-Ni Matrix Cermets

  • The growth of solid particles in TiC-XC-2vo1.% and TiC-XC-30vo1.% Ni alloys, (where X=Zr, W or Mo) was fitted to the equation of the form $d^3$-${do}^3$=Kt during the liquid phase sintering at 1,673K. Also, the grain growth behavior decreased markedly with the addition of ${MO}_2$C or WC and increased with the addition of zrC. The contiguity was greater in the alloys with a smaller growth rate constant and especially, decreased by increasing the Ni content in the TiC-${MO}_2$C-Ni alloy. In addition, the effect of the addition of carbide on the grain growth of 2 vo1.% Ni alloys was found to be similar to that of 30vo1.% Ni alloys. Consequently, the grain growth mechanism cannot be explained by the usual solution / reprecipitation process, but can be explained in terms of a new growth velocity equation, which includes the effects of contiguous carbide grain boundaries in restricting the overall grain growth, as well as the area of the solid / liquid interface in the alloy.

The Effect of P and Mo for Thermal and Chemical Properties of Fe-PC-B-Al-Mo Amorphous Alloys (Fe-P-C-B-Al-Mo계 비정질합금의 열적.화학적 성질에 미치는 P 및 Mo의 영향)

  • The melt-spun amorphous $Fe_{77-X}P_{13}C_4B_4Al_2Mo_X$(x=4~10) and $Fe_{82-X}P_XC_4B_4Al_2Mo_8$(x=9~15) alloys were found to exhibit a large supercooled liquid region(${\Delta}T_x$) exceeding 40 K before crystallization. The largest ${\Delta}T_x$ for the glassy alloys containing Mo reaches as large as 65 K for the $Fe_{69}P_{13}C_4B_4Al_2Mo_8$ alloy. The corrosion behavior of the amorphous $Fe_{77-X}P_{13}C_4B_4Al_2Mo_X$(x=4~15) and $Fe_(82-X)P_XC_4B_4Al_2Mo_8$ (x=9~17) alloys were examined by electrochemical measurements in 9M $H_2SO_4$ solution at 303 K. The addition of Mo(or P) for replacing some portion of Fe is effective in improving the corrosion resistance of the investigated Fe-based glassy alloys. They are spontaneously passivated and have a wide passive region with low passive current density.
