An XML document processor should process the XML documents according to their purposes and semantics. It is very hard to automatically generate an XML document processor with DTD, because it does not provide the semantic information. In this paper, we introduce an XML document processor generator and a method for specifying semantics using the object-oriented attribute grammar. The XML document processor generator will reduce costs and efforts in developing XML document processors.

Because XML is a W3C standard and has characteristics like platform independent, it has a critical role in electronic commerce. Many electronic commerce systems are already using XML. Business rules and procedures should be standardized for efficient B2B electronic commerce. But a lot of companies have its own XML documents instead of standard documents. In this paper an XML message processor is designed. Clients may request services in XML and server returns response in XML in this system. This XML message processor can be applied easily and used efficiently in electronic commerce systems.

XML is standard of web document, and is used in language for document data exchange. XML document is used as example that change existing document to XML or makes new document by XML increases and XML search system to search XML document efficiently accordingly is requiring. This paper describes design and implementation of query processing system for translating XML elements and data between XML documents and relational database and consist of XML to DB processor, DB to XML processor and XML document management processor. Through this, described for design and embodiment of efficient XML document search system of JAVA base using XQL that is proposed in language of quality of XML document.

According to the expansion of the E-Commerce based on Internet, the Interoperability between shopping malls and the expansibility of B2B has been needed. Also, Intelligent User Interface has been needed. The XML based Script Processor, the solution of the problem, is good for Interoperability and if a shopping mall is build by it, it is possible to do customer oriented display that an XML document is displayed with different looks by other style sheet according to customer's preference. In the proposed system, the TMP(Template Markup Language), an auto XML generation script, is defined by XML and the script processor is implemented to work on the shopping mall on the Web.

With the rapid development of wired or wireless Internet, various kinds of resource constrained mobile devices, such as cellular phone, PDA, homepad, smart phone, handhold PC, and so on, have been emerging into personal or commercial usages. Most software to be embedded into those devices has been forced to have the characteristic of flexibility rather than the fixedness which was an inherent property of embedded system. It means that recent technologies require the flexible embedding into the variety of resource constrained mobile devices. A document processor for XML which has been positioned as a standard mark-up language for information representation on the Web, is one of the essential software to be embedded into those devices for browsing the information. In this paper, a framework for configurable XML processor called EmXJ is designed and implemented for flexible embedding into various types of resource constrained mobile devices, and its advantages are compared to conventional XML processors.

Conformance testing is to test whether an implementation faithfully meets the requirements of a standard or specification. Above all, it is important to test conformance for XML processors because system errors caused by XML processor without conformance affect badly all related XML based systems. Thus, it is essential to implement XML processors with conformity for the sake of interoperability between XML based systems. In this paper, we survey related works. and describe our method and tool for XML conformance testing. And we show our testing result for Xerces 1.4.4. which is developed as Apache's XML project. as an example.

As XML emerging as the Internet electronic document language standard of the next generation, the number of XML documents which contain vast amount of Information is increasing substantially through the transformation of existing documents to XML documents or the appearance of new XML documents. Consequently, XML document retrieval system becomes extremely essential for searching through a large quantity of XML documents that are storied in and managed by DBMS. In this paper we describe the design and implementation of BADA-IV/XML query processor that supports content-based, structure-based and attribute-based retrieval. We design XML query language based upon XQL (XML Query Language) of W3C and tightly-coupled with OQL (a query language for object-oriented database). XML document is stored and maintained in BADA-IV, which is an object-oriented database management system developed by ETRI (Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) The storage data model is based on DOM (Document Object Model), therefore the retrieval of XML documents is executed basically using DOM tree traversal. We improve the search performance using Node ID which represents node's hierarchy information in an XML document. Assuming that DOW tree is a complete k-ary tree, we show that Node ID technique is superior to DOM tree traversal from the viewpoint of node fetch counts.

XML이 발표되면서 대용량의 XML을 효과적으로 관리하는 여러 가지 방법들이 연구되고 있다. 특히 지금까지 상업적, 기술적으로 성공적이고 안정된 데이터 모델인 관계형 데이터베이스를 활용하는 여러 가지 방법들이 연구되고 있다. 본 논문은 관계형 DBMS를 사용하여 XML 질의어인 XQuery를 SQL로 변환하여 처리하는 효율적인 방법을 제안한다. 우선 본 논문에서 제안하는 방식은 XML문서를 분할하여 관계형 테이블에 저장하는 분할방식을 사용하며, 분할된 관계형 테이블을 이용하여 XPath를 포함한 XQuery의 기능을 실행하는 SQL을 생성하여 관계형 DBMS에서 SQL을 실행하는 방식을 사용한다. 제안한 XQuery 처리방식은 먼저 XQuery의 구문 분석을 통하여 AST(Abstract Syntax Tree)를 생성하고, AST를 순회하면서 SQL문장을 생성한다. 생성된 SQL문장은 XML 문서의 경로를 사용함으로써 XQuery 연산의 조인 횟수를 감소시키며, 각 노드마다 부여된 순서 정보를 효과적으로 사용하여 문서의 원래 순서에 맞는 XML 부분을 생성하는 방법을 제시한다. 그리고 실제 제안된 시스템을 개발하여 그 성능을 평가한다.

XML can effectively express structured or semi-structured data as well as relational databases. XQuery is a query language for retrieving information for such an XML document. In this paper, an XQuery composer is designed and implemented, with an API provided for XQuery processors, and a proper processor is registered. This composer shows query results immediately processed by the processor. As this composer contains a parser for XQuery, it can compose XQuery effectively using a diverse dialog box designed for XQuery grammar. A dialog box is affiliated with a clause region, which is a region that algebra operates from the parsing tree. It can compose path expressions for an XML document easily as it shows an element tree from DTD graphically. Path expressions are composed automatically by marking elements in the structural hierarchy and by specifying the predicate of an element partially.

VoiceXML 문서는 음성 응답 시스템을 위한 표준화된 문서로서 기존의 고비용과 폐쇄된 환경에서만 가능했던 음성 응답 시스템을 개발자와 사용자의 입장에서 손쉽게 구축할 수 있게 하였다. 본 논문에서는 VoiceXML 문서 저장과 생성을 위해 VoiceXML 문서를 관계형 데이터베이스에 저장하기 위한 VoiceXML Document Processor와 클라이언트에게 VoiceXML 문서로 된 음성 정보를 제공하기 위한 VoiceXML Document Generator를 설계하고 구현하여 VoiceXML 문서 관리 시스템 구현하였다.
