Indexing of XML with B+-tree (B+-tree를 이용한 XML 색인기법)

  • Computing paradigm shift to internet-based one has accelerated the use of XML in diverse applications. This phenomena has made the explosive increases of XML data and it triggered many active researches in maintaining very huge amount of XML data in turn. In this paper we present a persistent graph-based XML indexing lot data-centric XML data. In our approach we use 3 graphs to represent XML indexes and XML data itself. They are schema graph, data graph index. And then we have mapped those graphs to B+-trees the persistency. With our approach we can achieve linear query execution time with the increase of XML sizes.

  • XML Schema which enables the second revolution of Internet with XML rapidly emerging as a standard for XML document structure modeling. XML Schema modeling has more complex structures and information than DTD modeling. In this reason, XML Schema modeling tool which has some more specialized functionalities others is needed. In this paper, we have developed the XML application development method called \"Design and develop\" and implemented the prototype system named XSD4j which supports UML based XML Schema modeling and provides a XML application development platform. Using XSD4j, developers can get an easy and conceptual schema modeling method, XML storage schema for XML document, and persistent DOM API which is a standard interface between document and application program.n program.

  • XKMS(XML Key Management Specification), one of XML Security specification, defines the protocol for distributing and registering public keys for verifying digital signatures and enciphering XML documents of web service applications with various and complicate functions. In this paper, we propose XML Key Information protocol service model and implements reference model of protocol component based on standard specification. Also describes the analysis and security method of Key Information Service(XKIS) for Secure XML Web Service,paying attention to the features of XML based security service. This protocol component supported includes public key location by given identifier information, the binding of such keys to edentifier information. This reference model offers the security construction guideline for future domestric e-Business Frameworks.

  • Since XML emerged as a standard for data exchange on the web, it has been widely used for applications like e-Commerce, CRM, and BI. However, it is common that most of business data is stored in relational database systems, and it is expected that business data management would still be centered around the relational database systems. As such, the technique of viewing relational data as XML and processing XML queries against it is required. To meet such a need, in the SQL/XML standard, the functions to publish relational data as XML are provided. In this paper, we propose the techniques of providing an XML view of relational data defined by an SQL/XML statement in DTD(Document Type Definition), and of processing XPath queries against the XML view by translating them into SQL/XML statements, and describe the validation of such techniques through implementation and tests.

  • XML과 관련하여 XML 문서의 구조적인 특징을 고려한 XML 질의에 관한 연구가 활발히 수행되고 있다. 이들 연구들은 하나의 XML 문서 또는 XML 저장소에 저장된 여러 XML 문서들을 대상으로 효과적인 검색을 위한 XML 질의 언어의 개발이나 확장을 중심으로 연구되고 있다. 한편 XML 문서 검색의 성능 향상을 위해서 XML 저장소에는 XML 문서들 외에 그들로부터 도출된 XML 뷰를 실체 뷰로 저장해 둘 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 XQL 질의의 결과로 얻어진 XML 실체 뷰가 있다고 가정하고 이를 이용한 XQL 질의 변환에 대해 연구하였다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 XML 실체 뷰 영역을 포함하는 XML 저장소의 구조를 설명하고, XQL 질의의 결과와 XML 실체 뷰 간의 포함 관계를 분류하며, 그에 따른 XQL 질의 변환 알고리즘을 제안한다.

  • XML 의 중요성이 부각 되면서 XML 데이터의 효율적 관리 기법에 관한 연구가 활발히 수행되고 있다. XML 질의의 표준화 작업도 활발히 이루어져 현재 XQuery가 유력한 표준으로 부각되었다. 그러나 XQuery 등이 완전한 XML 질의어가 되기 위해서는 변경 연산을 제공해야 하는데 XML 변경어의 표준화 작업이나 XML 변경 처리 기법에 대한 연구는 아직 미미한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 e-Business 등 XML 데이터베이스 기반 웹 응용의 효율적 지원을 위한 XML 문서 갱신에 대한 기법을 다룬다. XML 문서의 효율적 갱신을 위한 RN(RmdEid, NextChildEid) 번호 체계, R(RmdEid) 번호 체계 을 제시한다. 어떤 XML 번호 체계를 사용하여 XML 문서를 저장하는 가는 XML 문서의 갱신 연산에 중용한 영향을 미친다. 이들 번호 체계들은 데이터베이스내의 테이블 스키마의 차이점으로 구분한 것이다. 이들 번호체계 각각에 대하여 XML 데이터베이스 시스템을 구현하여 이들 기능의 성능 및 공간 부담을 평가한 결과를 기술한다.

Data Transformation through Mapping between XML and Relation Database (XML과 관계형 데이타베이스 매핑을 통한 자료의 변환)

  • The data transformation between XML and Relation Database is made through the Principle of mapping bewtween them. There are two ways to access SQL Server, one is to assign SQL query to URL and the other is to use template file. MS-SQL server takes advantage of OpenXML function to transform the results of executing SQL query into XML documents. That is, OpenXML first makes node tree and then transforms row set data of XML documents into XML data of relation type. In order to insert XML data into database data. data is extracted from parsing XML documents using sp_xml_preparedocument procedure, and then the document structure is mapped into tree structure and stored in a table of database. Consequently, Data transformation between XML and Relation Database is made through mapping bewtween them. This article proposes the principle of mapping between XML and Relation Database and then shows the implementation of transformation between them so that it introduces the possibilty of bringing the extension and efficiency of data and various effects.

  • B2B e-business is an economic transaction formed between companies through various networks including internet. At present, e-business between companies partly applies information distribution between companies, but many enterprises expect that a corporate basic system will be gradually changed into XML basis if web service is earnestly materialized, so they are competing with each other in developing XML DBMS. Existing XML DBMS studies used XML DTD in order to represent the structure of XML document. Such XML DTD defines the expression of a simple type, so there are many difficulties in defining the structure of XML document. To cope with this, in this paper, the author will develop database schema generator utilizing relational database generally used in storing contents of data, on the basis of XML schema selected as a standard of W3C. Also, to store XML data, the author proposed the automatic conversion method of relational database schema that used XML schema.

  • XML has been proposed as an international standard for organizing and exchanging a great diversity of the Web data. It is important to retrieve components of stored XML documents that are needed by a wide variety of applications. In this paper, we suggest a method to store XML documents and to retrieve an XML data. In other words, we suggest the method of retrieving XML data is using XML -QL. So we need to mapping XML-QL to SQL translator on top of an RDBMS. The contributions of this paper include, besides the detailed design and implementation of the translator, demonstration of feasibility of such a translator, and a comprehensive classification of XML queries and their mappings to SQL relational queries.

  • In a pervasive environment, there are various applications as much as connections of various devices. In this computing environment, XML is the most suitable data representation method. XML is able to transform data for other application areas using XSLT. XML is text-based, the file size of XML document is bigger than binary data file. Therefore, XML has a disadvantage that it is hard to deal with XML in a pervasive environment. In this paper, we survey encoding methods of XML documents, and then we propose a transform method that transforms an encoded EXI format XML document into an EXI format XML document suited for other applications. Among various applications, we present a system that transforms an EXI format XHTML document into an VoiceXML document. This system can improve reusability of EXI format XML documents in a pervasive environment and it is expected to contributes utilization of EXI format XML documents.
