  • 이번 회 및 다음 회 두 회에 걸쳐서 파라메트릭 툴이 건축 설계 및 시공 과정에서 디자인 툴로써 뿐 만이 아니라 설계를 진행하기 위해 주어진 설계 초기 조건을 분석하는 과정 및 시공과정에서의 시행착오와 오차를 줄이기 위한 pre-construction 등에 다양하게 사용되는 경우를 살펴보도록 하겠습니다. 본 프로젝트는 SHoP Architects에 재직 당시 작업하였던 Barclays Center의 Green Roof 프로젝트이며 경기장 안 이벤트나 경기가 벌어질 경우 주변에 들어서는 고층 주거 빌딩 및 기존 주거지역의 소음을 저감하기 위한 일차적 목적과 기존의 방수층이 노출된 지붕의 미관상(fig.01)의 이차적인 목적으로 다른 한 겹의 지붕 층을 추가하는 프로젝트였습니다.

Significance and Limitations of the Public Participatory National R&D Project: A Case Study on X-Project (국민참여형 국가연구개발사업의 의미와 한계: X-프로젝트 사례를 중심으로)

  • The paper investigates X-project, in which the public was invited to participate in a national R&D project, examines how X-project attracted the public's attention and involved them in a national R&D project, and discusses the significance and limitations of X-project. X-project was executed by a 12 citizen-led committee, financially supported by the Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning, and backed by the Science and Technology Policy Institute. People raised 6,212 questions that reflected the severe needs they experienced in their daily lives through the online and offline platforms of X-project. In addition, the committee members, scholars, experts, government officials, and citizens gathered together to select the fifty most provocative and novel of the questions raised by the public, and invited public participation to answer the questions in innovative ways. 310 research teams including professional researchers from universities and institutes, high-school students, lay persons, and corporate workers applied for X-project, and 54 of these teams were finally selected to receive funding from the government. Through planning and conducting X-project, as well as interviewing and surveying the participants in X-project and non-participants, we found that there was an enormous social consensus on the necessity of public participatory national R&D projects. People asserted that science and technology should put a greater focus on solving social problems and satisfying public needs. We also confirmed that the public could take part in national R&D projects. Most of all, we found that the questions raised by the public were very challenging, novel, and complex, and thus researchers need break-through approaches to address them. It can be also argued that through experiencing the X-project citizens can regard themselves as ones who are not only recipients of the benefits of the development of science and technology, but also contributors of the development of them. We finally argue that there are some limitations to X-project in terms of how to provide diverse incentives that attract more participation, how to develop the process in which people got involved in the project in more easy ways, and how to create new ways for lay persons and professional researchers to cooperate in solving social problems.

감마선 폭발의 초기관측을 위한 Ultra-Fast Flash Observatory (UFFO) 프로젝트의 현황

  • 감마선폭발 (Gamma Ray Burst) 사건에서 아직 관측이 안되고 있는 초기 방출 광자에 대한 연구를 위하여 Ultra Fast Flash Observatory (UFFO) 인공위성 프로젝트가 제안되었다. 이 탑재체의 주요 기기로써, 감마선 폭발의 위치를 측정하기 위하여 coded mask 기반의 X-ray 광시야각 망원경인 UFFO Burst Alert X-ray Trigger Telescope (UBAT)와 감마선 폭발의 자외선 및 가시광 초기 후광관측을 위한 Slewing Mirror Telescope(SMT)가 있다. UFFO 프로젝트는 한국이 주도하고 미국, 대만, 러시아, 덴마크, 스페인, 프랑스, 노르웨이, 폴란드가 참여하는 9개국 국제공동연구이며, 2011년 11월 UFFO pathfinder가 러시아 인공위성인 Lomonosov에 실려 발사될 예정이다. 차세대 UFFO-100는 2015년 발사 목표로 연구가 시작되고 있다. UFFO pathfinder의 현재 진행상황과 가능한 연구에 대하여 논의한다.

  • WEBGL 등 실시간 3차원 웹 서비스를 S-10X 데이터 서비스 구현에 활용함으로써 보다 폭넓은 항해정보의 공유방안을 생각하고 실제 플랫폼에 데이터를 시각화함으로써 S-10X 데이터에 활용서비스 모델을 구축하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 CESUIM 같은 오픈소스 프로젝트를 이용함으로써 데이터 시각화 및 구축 이용에 도움을 주고자 한다.

  • Three kinds of typical practices to reflect the values of Agile Development Methodology were selected from a previous study. Those were Communicate using Web 2.0 collaboration tools, test-driven development (TDD, Test-Driven Development) method is adopted, and refactoring. In this study, we set up a hypothesis that the adoption of TDD project will make user satisfaction is higher. Select 100 sample projects from SourceForge(sourceforge.net), the most popular open source hosting site, the criteria is we can be determined whether operate in the project (developer least 7 people, bugs can occur more than 100, created the project since 2000). To determine whether the use of automated development tools xUnit of TDD through the CVS and SVN log analysis. Using data from the FLOSSmole and to evaluate the user experience of the project. User satisfaction of each project Rating, bug fix cycle, downloads and pageviews. Through this study, correlates of whether TDD adoption and user satisfaction, we will suggest a reflected the Agile practices new open source development methodology. As a result, it contributes to increase the maturity of the open source community.

  • The windows games and the console games that use DirectX occupied 20% or more of world game market and that are developed by C++ Language occupied 75% or more of the market. This study proposed that commonality and variability for code of the 20 projects based on DirectX and C++ is analysed and patternized, that common modules are created, and that modules are modeled. As a result of applying a case study, it is verified that the proposed model reduces effort in game development.

  • X-ray Free Electron Laser (XFEL) has been known to be a dream X-ray source opening an epoch in X-ray science with the characteristics of femtosecond pulse, perfect transverse coherence, and ultra-high brightness. Here we introduce the XFEL source shortly and report the status of the worldwide XFEL facilities, and then the experimental instrumentations for XFEL are reviewed in their conceptual classification scheme. Scientific examples and applications proposed in the research area of magnetism for XFEL are briefly mentioned. Finally are summarized the facility overview and the scientific proposals for PAL-XFEL project.
