Template matching을 위한 새로운 알고리즘 및 ASIC 칩 구현 (A new template matching algorithm and its ASIC chip implementation)

  • This paper proposes a new template matching algorithm and its chip design. The CC and SAD algorithms require the massive amount of computation. Hence, several algorithms using quantization schemes have been proposed to reduce the amount of computation and its hardware cost. the proposed algorithm called the EMPPM improves at least 22% of the noise margin compared with the MPPM algorithm. In addition, the proposed architecture can reduce the gate count by more than 60% of that used in the SAD algorithm without usig quantization schemes and 28% of the MPPM algorithm. The VHDL models have been simulated by using the CADANCETEX>$^{TM}$ and logic synthesis has been performed by using the SYNOPSYSTEX>$^{TM}$ with $0.6\mu\textrm{m}$ SOG(sea-of-gate) cell library. The implemented chip consists of 35,829 gates, operates at 100 MHz (worst case 53 MHz) and performs the template maching with the speed of 200 Mpixels/sec.

  • A robot manipulator is usually operated in two modes: free and constrained motion modes, depending on whether the robot is in contact with an environment or not. At the moment of contact, an impact occurs and can exert harmful effects to the robot or the object. In case of teleoperation, since a user may give an inadequately excessive velocity command to the slave due to insufficient visual information, the robot nay collide the object with an excessive speed and it possibly deteriorates the robot's performance causing vibrations and at worst, shortens its lifetime by its fracture. In this article, a new algorithm is proposed by introducing a command signal modification method on the basis of impedance control and validity of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by performing simulations and experiments.

  • In this paper, performance of a hybrid direct-sequency/slow-frequency-hopped (DS/SFH) spread-spectrum (SS) system with coherent BPSK modulation is analyzed. The bit error probability is derived over a frequency=-selective rician fading channel in the presence of multiple tone jamming. The fading channel is modeled as the wide-sense stationary uncorrelated scattering (WSSUS) model. Numerical evaluations are presented for some combinations of system parameters. The performance of a hybrid DS/SFH SS system is shown to be inferior to that of a ure DS SS system at low jamming-to-signal power ratio (JSR). At high JSR, the performance of a pure DS SS system is shown to be the smae as the worst case performance of a hybrid DS/SFH SS system.

  • 본 논문에서는 부분 대역 전파 방해와 열잡음하에서 바이내리 FSK 변조와 noncoherent 수신을 이용한 주파수 급도약 스프레드 스펙트럼 통신 시스템을 쌨을 때의 오율 도출에 대한 해석을 보였다. 가장 효과적인 전파방해의 경우 오율성능을 수치 해법으로 구하였으며 고 결과를 비트급 도약수(L)을 파라미터로 하여 신호 비트에너지 대 전파 방해 밀도의 비(E /N )의 함수로 도시하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 몬테카를로 기법 및 최소결합손실(MCL : Minimum Coupling Loss)기법을 기반으로 하여 무선통신 서비스간 보호비를 만족시키도록 최적의 보호대역을 자동으로 설정할 수 있는 알고리즘을 개발하고 그 견과를 기술하였다. 여기서 개발된 보호대역 자동 설정 알고리즘은 통계적인 몬테카를로 기법 및 간섭원과 대상 수신기 사이에 간섭이 존재하지 않도록 요구되는 이격도 계산을 위한 최소결합손실기법을 적용하여, 주어진 간섭보호비를 만족할 수 있는 최악의 상황에 대한 보호대역을 먼저 설정한 후 보호대역값을 변화시키면서 희망 수신기에서의 간섭확률을 계산을 통해 최적의 보호대역을 설정할 수 있다. 이 기법은 어떠한 형태의 무선통신 서비스에 대해서도 동시에 두가지의 간섭원이 영향이 미칠 경우에도 적용할 수 있도록 설계되었다. 또한 본 연구에서는 TDD시스템간의 간섭 시나리오를 설정하고, 개발된 보호대역 자동 선정 알고리즘을 사용한 시뮬레이터와 ITU-R에서 개발된 SEAMCAT에 의해 얻어진 보호대역 도출 결과를 비교, 분석함으로써 개발된 알고리즘의 신뢰성을 검증하였다.

지역특성을 고려한 환경보전계획수립을 위한 시민환경의식 분석 (Analysis for Environmental Consciousness on Conservation Planning Considering the Regional Characteristic -The Case of Daegu City-)

  • In this study, the environmental consciousness of Daegu citizen on conservation planning considering the regional characteristics was investigated. Data were collected throughout a survey and 1400 people were selected using a stratified sampling method based on populations of Daegu administration district. Results wee followings; First, the levels of environmental consciousness were different dependent on districts' characteristics. Second, poor awareness on Daegu Agenda 21 (Clear and Green Daegu 21) were shown. Daegu Agenda 21 is the action plan for the sustainable environmental conservation activities of the City of Daegu. Third, waste was the most serious environmental problems of Daegu, air quality was second worst, and third was river water quality from the survey, but differentiated awareness was shown dependent on regional spatial factors and pollution emission factors. Last, a public environmental education was the most important issue to make invigorations and progress for future environmental policy.

  • This paper presents the worst-case time-delay in CAN(Controller Area Network) system through the mathematical model. Time-delay in the CAN system is devided into a generation delay, a transmission delay and a delivery delay. This paper also measures the performance represented in terms of the number of station, transmission speed, data size etc. by using the computer simulation.

  • The distance in load parameter space to the closest voltage collapse point (CSNB) provides the worst case power margin and the left eigenvector identifies the most effective direction to steer the system to maximize voltage stability under contingency. This paper proposes a new generation redispatch algorithm, which uses left eigenvector at CSNB to enhance the voltage stability. A Newton method is used to detect CSNB point. Proposed method is applicable to the selection of appropriate reactive power compensation and load shedding point detection. But this paper make a point of voltage stability enhancement only with generation redispatch. The proposed method has been tested for Klos Kerner 11-bus system.

  • 본 논문은 CAN(Controller Area Network) 통신의 WCRT(Worst Case Response Time) 분석을 통해 IEEE1212 기반 RTU(Remote Terminal Unit)의 통신 신뢰성을 검증한다. RTU는 원격지에서 네트워크를 구성하여 각 모듈들로부터 획득한 정보를 서버로 전송하거나 원격지를 제어하는 역할을 한다. 본 논문에서 대상으로 하는 RTU의 네트워크는 물리계층과 데이터링크 계층은 CAN을 사용하고 응용계층은 IEEE1212 기반으로 통신한다. 즉, RTU를 구성하는 모듈은 각각메모리 영역을 가지고 있고, CAN ID에 메모리 주소를 포함하여 해당 영역을 쓰는 구조로 통신을 한다. 첫 번째로 이러한 응용계층을 고려하여 WCRT를 계산하는 방법을 제시하고, 두 번째로 CAN 메시지의 우선 순위를 최적화하는 방법을 고찰한다. 마지막으로 시험 환경을 구축하고 시뮬레이션을 통해 앞에서 선정한 우선순위에 따라 통신 신뢰성을 검증한다.

Distributed estimation over complex adaptive networks with noisy links

  • In this paper, we investigate the impacts of network topology on the performance of a distributed estimation algorithm, namely combine-then-adaptive (CTA) diffusion LMS, based on the data with or without the assumptions of temporal and spatial independence with noisy links. The study covers different network models, including the regular, small-world, random and scale-free whose the performance is analyzed according to the mean stability, mean-square errors, communication cost (link density) and robustness. Simulation results show that the noisy links do not cause divergence in the networks. Also, among the networks, the scale free network (heterogeneous) has the best performance in the steady state of the mean square deviation (MSD) while the regular is the worst case. The robustness of the networks against the issues like node failure and noisier node conditions is discussed as well as providing some guidelines on the design of a network in real condition such that the qualities of estimations are optimized.
