친환경 인증 오피스 건축물의 공간 이용성 평가 (Evaluation on Usability of Space in Leed-Certified Office Building)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usability and satisfaction of space to which positive elements in Leed-Certified Office Building are applied. The study was conducted using the three-step approach. The first step was to understand the building and identify the issues which included the analysis of floor plans, documentations, and the interview with designers and facility managers. The second step was FGI(Focus Group Interviews), which were conducted with mixed employees of rank and location of workplace. Finally, a web-based questionnaire survey was conducted on the 319 executives and employees. Methods of analysis used were quantitative analysis of questionnaire, qualitative analysis of open ended free-answer, and FGI in the second step. Satisfaction, preference, and comfort level were studied using cross tab, co-relation, ANOVA for quantitative analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, lobby and atrium are representative elements that are functioning positively and it is recognized as sustainable spaces being utilized by users. Second, there are several dead spaces like green shaft, roof garden and sunken space although they can contribute to Leed-certification. Third, there are some problematic spaces such as the O.A. room and the urinals even though they contribute to the Leed-certification.

임상간호사의 가족지지도가 직무 스트레스에 미치는 영향 (Family Support and Job Stress of Clinical Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was done to investigate the level of family support, job stress in clinical nurses end identify the participant's individual characteristics that influenced each of them. Methods: This study was a descriptive correlational study. The participants were 192 clinical nurses working in local middle range hospitals. The data were collected from May to June, 2013 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test and Pearson's correlation by PASW statistics20. Results: The item mean score for family support was 21.01 and job stress was 98.89. There was a statistically significant negative correlation between family support and job stress (r=-.12). The level of job stress differed according to age (p=.014), duration of career (p=.013), department area (p<.001), position (p=.005), work duty form (p<.001), family member (p=.021), burden (p=.031), marital status (p=.001) and satisfaction (p<.001). Conclusion: Family support is needed to reduce job stress. Also, job satisfaction improvement programs and effective working systems should be developed to decrease the nurse's workplace stress.

Occupational Therapists' Professional Quality of Life

  • Occupational therapists (OTs) interface patients much longer than other healthcare workers and, thus, are likely to experience a high level of stress because of work, physical fatigue, lack of professional knowledge and skills, and problematic relationships with patients, etc. This study examined the quality of the lives of OTs and the workplace which is an influential factor. This study recruited 200 OTs and used a professional quality of life scale. We found that, only 27.0% experience high levels of compassion satisfaction (CS) and 80.5% and 74.5% experience high or average levels of burnout (BO) and secondary traumatic stress (STS) of compassion fatigue (CF), respectively. We discovered that CS was higher in temporary employees; and CF was higher in females, subjects in their 30s; and those working at general hospitals. Also, BO was higher in those with one to five years of clinical experience and regular employees. Last, STS was higher in the group without stable income. This study verified that clinical experience is a critical factor that reduces BO, and excessive workload outside of treatment lowers the professional quality of life. This suggests that work environment and regulations related to OTs must be improved to increase CS and reduce CF.

A Study on Influence of Economic Preparation for Later Life after Retirement

  • This study examines how economic preparation for later life directly influences life after retirement. As people's life cycle is gradually getting longer, preparation for the later time with less economic activity after retirement is becoming more important. Thus, this study analyzes the factors influencing life after retirement. Data comes from the Korean Retirement and Income Study (KReIS) surveyed carried out by the National Pension Research Institute in 2015. The analysis includes Cronbach's alpha, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and Sobel Test. This study confirms that voluntary retirement has a positive influence on life satisfaction. Results are in line with previous research about the relationship between voluntary retirement and retired life. When a person retires voluntarily, financial preparation can be made in advance for retirement. In case of involuntary retirement, people may experience a sense of loss in personal standing and financial difficulties due to the unexpected situation. Especially, early retirement from the main workplace leads to unstable later life. The study's policy recommendation, in particular, calls on government and businesses to agree on social responsibility for helping employees to retire in the predictable retirement time and, thus, enabling the retiree to decide all aspects of the path after retirement.

한국어판 코펜하겐 사회심리적 업무환경 측정도구의 타당도와 신뢰도 (Reliability and Validity of the Korean Version of the Copenhagen Psyco-social Questionnaire Scale)

  • Purpose: This study aims to test the validity and criteria-related reliability of the Korean version of the Copenhagen Psyco-social Questionnaire version II (COPSOQ-K) assessing the psychosocial working environment. Methods: The COPSOQ-K was developed through forward-backward translation techniques, and revision based on feedback from focus groups. Survey data were collected from 311 office workers who worked in one workplace. An internal consistency reliability was estimated by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. The impacts of the COPSOQ-K scales on job satisfaction, self-rated health, stress, sleeping troubles, burnout, and sickness absence were analyzed with multiple regression model or multiple logistic regression model, adjusted age and gender using SAS version 9.3. The Pearson correlation coefficients between the COPSOQ-K scales and Korean job stress and its subdomain were identified. Results: Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ of COPSOQ-K scales was adequate or good (0.66~0.87). The major COPSOQ-K scales predict job satisfaction, self-rated health, stress, sleeping troubles burnout, and sickness absence. The major COPSOQ-K scales were correlated with Korean job stress and its subdomain. Conclusion: The COPSOQ-K scales have satisfactory reliability and criteria-related validity. The COPSOQ-K scales will be useful for the future studies and practices associated with psychosocial working environment.

Korean Emotional Laborers' Job Stressors and Relievers: Focus on Work Conditions and Emotional Labor Properties

  • Background: The present study aims to investigate job stressors and stress relievers for Korean emotional laborers, specifically focusing on the effects of work conditions and emotional labor properties. Emotional laborers are asked to hide or distort their real emotions in their interaction with clients. They are exposed to high levels of stress in the emotional labor process, which leads to serious mental health risks including burnout, depression, and even suicide impulse. Exploring job stressors and relieving factors would be the first step in seeking alternatives to protect emotional laborers from those mental health risks. Methods: Using the third wave data of Korean Working Conditions Survey, logistic regression analysis was conducted for two purposes: to examine the relations of emotional labor and stress, and to find out job stressors and relievers for emotional laborers. Results: The chances of stress arousal are 3.5 times higher for emotional laborers; emotional laborers experience double risk-burden for stress arousal. In addition to general job stressors, emotional laborers need to bear burdens related to emotional labor properties. The effect of social support at the workplace is not significant for stress relief, unlike common assumptions, whereas subjective satisfaction (wage satisfaction and work-life balance) is proven to have relieving effects on emotional laborers' job stress. Conclusion: From the results, the importance of a balanced understanding of emotional labor for establishing effective policies for emotional laborer protection is stressed.

Factors Influencing Compassion Fatigue among Hospice and Palliative Care Unit Nurses

  • Purpose: This descriptive study aimed to explore nursing workplace spirituality, end-of-life care stress, and resilience as factors influencing compassion fatigue among nurses working in hospice and palliative care units. Methods: Data were collected using a self-report questionnaire completed by 146 nurses at 14 hospice and palliative care institutions across South Korea who had worked in a hospice and palliative care institution for at least 6 months and had experience providing end-of-life care. Data were collected from February 25, 2019 to April 12, 2019, and analyzed using SPSS for Windows version 18.0. As appropriate, descriptive statistics, the t-test, analysis of variance, the Scheffé test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression were used. Results: The survey results showed that factors influencing compassion fatigue were resilience, subjective health status, current satisfaction with the hospice ward, and end-of-life care stress. Higher levels of resilience, a subjective health status of "healthy", high levels of current satisfaction with the hospice ward, and lower levels of end-of-life care stress were associated with lower levels of compassion fatigue, explaining 42.9% of the total variance. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that resilience is an important factor mitigating compassion fatigue among nurses at hospice and palliative care institutions. Therefore, intervention programs should be developed to reduce compassion fatigue.

직원경험 요인 파악 및 직무 만족도에 끼치는 영향력 분석 (Identification of Employee Experience Factors and Their Influence on Job Satisfaction)

  • 기존에 우수한 인재를 유치하기 위한 기업들의 경쟁이 심화됨에 따라, 직원들의 직무 만족도 관리가 중요해지고 있다. 이에 많은 기업의 관리자들은 직원들의 일상적인 경험과 고충을 파악하여 직무만족도를 개선하기 위해 투자하고 있다. 그러나 직원 경험에 대한 충분한 이해의 부족으로 관리자들의 투자는 효과를 보지 못하고 있다. 본 논문은 전 세계적으로 가장 큰 직장인 커뮤니티인 글래스도어의 직원 리뷰와 기업 평점을 활용하여 직원 경험의 세부 요인들과 직무 만족도 간 관계를 조사한다. 이때 K-평균 군집화, Sentiment LDA Topic Modeling 등 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 활용하여 직급에 따른 주요 경험을 추출하고, DistilBERT 감성 분석을 통해 각 직원경험 요인의 감성점수를 측정한다. 이후 도출된 직원 경험 요인과 감성 점수를 계량적으로 분석하여 각 직원 경험 요인과 직무 만족도 간의 관계를 파악한다. 그 결과, 조직 관리자와 일반 직원의 직장 내 경험에는 상당한 차이가 있는 것으로 발견되었다. 또한 고객관계, 자율성 등은 관리자의 만족도에 영향을 미치지 않는 등, 직무 만족도에 영향을 미치는 직원경험 역시 직급 간 상이했다. 본 연구는 직업적응이론을 기반으로 텍스트 마이닝과 계량 모델링 방법을 이용하여 직원경험의 주요 요인을 확인하고 이를 검증함으로써 관련 연구분야의 문헌을 확장한다. 더불어, 본 연구결과는 직원들의 직무 만족도 개선을 위한 인사관리 전략에 활용될 수 있으며, 궁극적으로는 기업의 생산성을 개선할 것으로 기대한다.

요양보호사의 위험요인과 보호요인이 이직의도에 미치는 영향 연구: 직업적응의 매개효과 중심으로 (A Study on the Effects of Risk Factors and Protection Factors of Care givers on Job Change Intention: Focused on the Mediation Effect of Occupational Adaptation)

  • 본 연구는 요양보호사의 이직의도에 직업적응이 미치는 영향에 대한 이해를 통해 요양보호사의 위기와 역경을 극복할 수 있는 요인을 규명하고 장기적으로는 요양보호사의 다양한 문제 해결에 기여하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 실증적 연구과제로 확인하고자 위험요인과 보호요인, 조사대상자의 일반적 특성요인, 직업적응 및 이직의도를 선정하였으며, 요양보호사의 위험요인과 보호요인이 이직의도에 영향을 미치는데 있어서 직업적응이 매개역할을 하는지를 검증하고자 하였다. 이에 서울 경기지역의 노인의료복지시설에 재직 중인 요양보호사 291명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하여 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 요양보호사의 위험요인 및 보호요인과 직업적응의 관계에서 요양보호사의 관계갈등이 심할수록, 직장문화에 대한 부적응이 높을수록 직무만족과 조직몰입에 악영향을 미치고, 정서적지지, 평가적지지, 정보적 지지가 높을수록 직무에 만족감을 느끼고 직무에 몰입하게 되는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 요양보호사의 위험요인 및 보호요인과 이직의도의 관계에서 요양보호사의 관계갈등이 높을수록, 직장이 불안정하다고 느길수록, 직장문화에 적응하는 것이 어렵게 느껴질수록 이직의도를 더 많이 갖게 되는 것으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로 요양보호사의 위험요인 및 보호요인과 이직의도의 관계에서 직업적응의 매개효과에 대한 검증결과, 직업적응의 하위요인인 직무만족은 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났지만 조직몰입은 위험요인인 직무스트레스와 이직의도의 관계에서만 매개역할을 하고, 보호요인인 자기효능감이나 사회적 지지와 이직의도의 관계에서는 매개변인 역할을 하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 요양보호사가 평소 직무에 대한 만족감을 느끼고 있다면 직무에 대한 스트레스도 덜 받게 되고, 자기효능감이 향상될 것이며, 사회적 지지에 대한 긍정적 사고방식을 갖게 되어 이직률을 낮출 수 있다는 사실을 알 수 있다. 또한 요양보호사가 조직에 몰입하면 할수록 직무스트레스를 덜 받게 되고 이직의도를 감소시킬 수 있으나 자기효능감이나 사회적 지지에 대한 인식에는 큰 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이를 바탕으로 시설장은 요양보호사들이 보다 직업에 적응할 수 있도록 갈등해소를 위한 노력과 직장문화에 대한 적응도를 높일 수 있는 방안을 모색하여 시설운영의 안정을 도모하고 질 높은 서비스 제공을 위한 노력을 해야 하며, 요양보호사들의 직무만족과 조직몰입의 향상을 위한 적극적 경영전략 및 제도적 뒷받침을 위한 개발이 요구되어진다.

수도권 소재 병원의 내 . 외부고객의 의료이용에 대한 인지도와 만족도 차이 분석 (A Comparison of the Recognition and Satisfaction for Health Care Service between Internal Customer and External Customer)

  • To compare the differences in the recognition on hospital utilization and satisfaction, 368 hospital employees and 485 patients were selected in four hospitals in Seoul and Kyung-gi do. The survey was done using a constructed form of checklist from Apr. 30 to May 10, 1999. And the results are as follows: l. Gaining knowledge of hospitals available among hospital employees differed from that of patients. When finding out about sources of information concerning hospitals, direct visit to the hospital was recognized to be the main factor for the hospital employees in contrast to the patients' recognition which were mass media, personal involvement of job related workplace and recommendations from other hospitals. There was no difference between university and general hospitals. 2. The factors that concern which hospital to choose there was a difference between hospital employees and patients. Hospital employees recommended their own hospital solely based on the reason that it was their work place. On the other hand, the patients made a choice based on the type of medical staff, transportation available and whether it was a university hospital or not. There was no difference between university and general hospitals. 3. The recognition of employees concerning hospital image of a hospital between hospital employees and patients was different. In university hospitals, the employees recognized the name value of university hospital and cooperation as most important, whereas the patients thought convenience, kindness were the main factors. Patients considered general hospitals to be more convenient. There was some difference between university and general hospitals. For university hospitals employees' recognition was higher and for the general hospital patients' recognition is higher on hospital image. 4. The recognition of employees was different from that of patients' on hospital satisfaction. The patients' satisfaction was higher than that of employees'. There was no difference between university and general hospitals. Based on the above findings, the employees' recognition on hospital utilization and satisfaction was different from that of the patients, but there was no difference between university and general hospitals. In both groups choice of hospital was associated with satisfaction. Results showing difference between employees' and patients' recognition can be applied to implement customer-oriented attitude and be used as a baseline data for internal-external marketing planning of hospital management. The study may be limited in that the results cannot be generalized due to its small sample size and not being able to reflect demographic variables and life style. Further studies to investigate the difference of hospital utilization and hospital satisfaction will be necessary to define demographic characteristics and recognition of employees which influences patients' hospital satisfaction.
