Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore violence experienced by workers in the distribution industry. Methods: The research subjects were 236 workers from 2 department stores and 1 large scale discount store located in Daejeon City, Korea. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, $x^2$-test, and logistic regression analysis. Results: 72.9% of the research subjects experienced verbal violence, and 9.3% of the respondents experienced physical violence during last year. 17.8% of the respondents reported that they had experience of sexual harassment at their workplaces. The variables which affected verbal violence included working departments and stress level, whereas the variable that affected physical violence was educational level of workers. The variables that affected experience of sexual harassment turned out to be gender as well as the duration of work at the current workplaces. Conclusion: The findings from this research revealed that many of the workers engaged in the distribution industry were exposed to workplace violence. For the reduction of risk of workplace violence for these workers, it is required to develop and execute programs including violence related policies and education about workplace violence.

This study tried to analyze influencing factors on self-perceived health status(SPHS) of labors in workplace. and suggested the preventive oriental medicine approaches in occupational health care. 914 data for research were collected through the process of oriental health examination with questionnaire in workplace and collected data were analyzed with frequency, homogeneity and correlation statistically. The results were as follows : 1) The distributions of SPHS was 58.4% of healthy group. 41.6% of unhealthy group. 2) For the difference of SPHS by stress, the high level stress group was more included in healthy group(p<0.05). 3. For the difference of SPHS by health behavior. the higher score of health behavior group was more included in healthy group. There was statistically significant difference of SPHS in physical exercise, but not in smoking, drinking, sleeping and body mass index. 4. For the difference of SPHS by the latest health examination results, non-disease group was more included in healthy group, while disease group was more included in unhealthy group. From the above results, SPHS was influenced by stress, health behavior, the latest health examination results. Therefore oriental medical service for occupational health must be interested in the these influencing factors and make an effort to change their perception of health as well as physical improvement.

This study investigated the current status of violence and job stress among hospital employees working at administration and discharging department. Methods: The study subjects were 213 administrative employees working at 20 general hospitals. Data were collected by self-administered questionnaire that included information such as demographics, job-related characteristics, experience of violence, and job stress. The violence was classified as verbal violence, physical threat, and physical violence occurred by patients and caregivers. Analysis of variance, t-tests, correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis were performed to examine the associated factors with job stress. Results: The levels of verbal violence, physical threat, and physical violence were $1.64{\pm}1.08$, $0.54{\pm}0.67$, and $0.04{\pm}0.17$, respectively. The score of job stress was $2.74{\pm}0.50$ and it was associated with age, existence of spouse, drinking frequency, subjective health status, disease history, night-time treatment, and public health administration career in simple analysis. In multiple linear regression analysis, the level of verbal violence experience was significantly associated with job stress (B=0.09, p=0.001). Also physical threats (B=0.18, p<0.001) and physical violence (B=0.48, p=0.008) showed positive association with job stress. Conclusion: This study attempted to examine the association between experience of violence and job stress in administrative employees at medical institutions. Levels of violence showed positive correlation with the job stress. Environment improvement to protect employee from violence and management of employees who experienced workplace violence are needed to reduce the job stress.
The Ergonomic Workload Stress Index (EWSI) was developed to predict the existence and level of the ergonomic workload stress in the workplace. To determine the validity of model, the values of the EWSI and two other similar techniques, Job Severity Index (JSI) and Physical Work Stress Index (PWSI) were evaluated in two actual industrial environments. The results from the validation study provide further substantial evidence that two techniques, JSI and PWSI, which have similar objective considerations, are significantly associated with the value of the EWSI among the employees participating in the experimentation.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the job stress factors that were related to the general characteristics, work characteristics, and health characteristics of the workers at distribution industry. The survey of job stress measurement scale for Korean employee which was developed by KOSHA and OSHRI in 2003 was used for this study. Three hundred and fifty workers at distribution industry participated in this study, and among them 326 responses were analyzed for this study due to the unreliability and insincerity of responses. Eight job stress factors like physical environment, self-control for the job, job unsecure, organization system, workplace culture, compensation for the job, relationship to the superior, and job requirement were analyzed. The results showed that the stress because of self control for the job was relatively higher than that of other industry workers. However, the stress because of physical environment, job requirement, job unsecure, organization system and compensation for the job was relatively lower than that of other industry workers. The female workers felt more stress than male workers in compensation for the job and workplace culture factors at distribution industry. The delivery and carrying job workers were more stressful than those of other jobs at distribution industry because of physical environments and self-control for the job. The non-regular job workers were more stressful than regular job workers in many stress factors like self-control for the job, job unsecure, organization system and compensation for the job.

The mean job satisfaction level was 3.32 out of 5 and. as for the sub-factors of job satisfaction, job control was 3.58, efficiency of organization 3.27, job burden and responsibility 2.92 and role ambiguity 2.25. When the nurses' job stress was compared according to their general and work characteristics. stress level was significantly high in nurses who had a short experience. were working at the department of senior welfare center. or were the only staff at their workplace (p <0.05). In addition. satisfaction level was significantly high in nurses who were working at the department of senior welfare center and medical welfare team. were the only staff at their workplace or had a heavy work load (p<0.05). According to the results of multiple regression analysis. job stress level was influenced by age ($R^2$=0.212. p<0.01). and job satisfaction level by the number of staffs and work' load ($R^2$=0.272. p<0.1). Conclusions: The results of the study suggest that good atmosphere should be made up to communicate between the departments at the workplace in order to lessen job stress and enhance job satisfaction of nurses working at welfare centers. This study focused on the development of a conceptual model of the turnover intention of part-time sales associates in apparel retailing. A convenience sample of 294 college students who were part-time apparel workers was used to test the model. In this proposed model, organizational support and growth opportunity indirectly influenced turnover intention through work engagement, which in turn positively affected work effort, job performance, and job satisfaction. The results also revealed a direct relationship between work/role stress and burnout, which influenced turnover intention. These findings make a unique contribution to the extant literature and enable development of relevant strategies by apparel retailers.
