CONSTRUCTION LOST-TIME INJURIES IN LAOS: AN EXPLORATORY STUDY

  • This paper presents a study on construction safety in the People Democratic Republic of Laos (PDRL). Fifty workers experienced certain injuries in their construction sites and 15 top managers were interviewed in twenty-six construction projects in Vientiane, the capital of PDRL. Research results show that stepping on and/or striking against objects (48%), struck by falling objects (24%), falling of persons (12%) are major types of construction injuries. The paper stresses that the ignorance of top managers about their crucial role in safety improvement, using safety incentive to raise safety performance, lack of thorough understanding about benefit from labor safety performance, and the willingness to cut off safety performance expenditures is considered as obstructions of safety improvement programs. The survey indicates that physical working conditions, relationship among workers, foremen behaviors and the monthly wage were influencing factors to worker's job satisfaction. The study also highlights afternoon as dominant time that led to a large number of injuries.

Factors Affecting Human Capital and Innovative Entrepreneurial Capabilities of Tour Operators: Evidence from Andaman Coast, Thailand

  • This research seeks to explain factors and relationship models of entrepreneurs capable of building service innovations in Andaman coast with the ultimate aim to ignite sufficient development of regional tourism, increase working potentials, and provide a guideline for tour operations. Initially, document examination and discussions with five experts were conducted to build in-depth interview questions. 19 entrepreneurs were interviewed to examine factors involved and we consulted later with the five experts and six successful entrepreneurs in the regions, as well as with the representatives of the Association of Thai Tour Operators and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) of Phuket, Krabi, and Trang. The results were analyzed according to the theory of resource-based and innovative entrepreneurs. The factors obtained were generated from systematic causes: Nature of Entrepreneurships and Organizational capabilities, the mediator variables of Service Innovation Capability; and Organizational Performance (non-finance). Moreover, the external factors needing to be adjusted regarding the environmental changes were described. The tour operators are suggested to build networking to increase tourism potential with sustainability by providing the entrepreneurs opportunities to be involved in tourism development, accessing the knowledge, technology and innovations resulting in sustainable tourism, quality livelihood, and sustainable ecological management of communities.

  • Purpose: The forecasting is the likelihood scientifically proved judgment about the prospects, the possible conditions of this or that phenomenon in the future and (or) about the alternative ways and the means of their realization. To adapt the instruments of budgeting for the analysis cash flow of company. Research design, data and methodology: The creates the budget of cash flow were carried out on the basis of data of the report for the 2017 of corporations POSCO and in the first half of the 2018 Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering of South Korea. Results: The simultaneous use of budgeting techniques and the simple financial analysis allows to systematize the transactions, to identify the main problem areas in the movement cash flows. Therefore, working capital analysis is to determine the limits of their fluctuations in view of the changes in the business processes. Conclusions: In the pedagogical context solved the features of budgeting in the part evaluation current assets, its financing, its elements: the cash, the debtor. In the process of budgeting of cash flow, in credit budget, in financial budget we can see the main indicators: the current assets, the functioning capital, the optimum number of debtors, the optimum amount of cash and another.

소규모자영업분야의 경제적 성과와 직업만족도 (The Economic Outcomes in Small Self-Employed Business and the Job Satisfaction of Self-Employed Workers)

  • The purpose of this study were to analyze the factors that influence the economic outcomes of small self-employed business and the job satisfaction among self-employed workers. A sample of 321 was selected from self-employed workers living in Daegu. For data analysis, multiple regression was used. The major findings were as follows: 1. The self-employed workers' income was affected by their gender, age, perception of present economic status, and working years of business, and amount of capital at the beginning, as well as whether they hired other employees. 2. The factors that influence job satisfaction for self-employed workers were previous experience in self-employed business, level of positive vision with future household economy, level of income, length of working hours per day, and the level of empowerment with their self-employed work.

임상간호사의 긍정심리자본과 셀프리더십이 직무만족에 미치는 융복합적 효과 (Convergence Effects of Positive psychological capital and Self-leadership in Clinical Nurses on Job satisfaction)

  • 본 연구는 임상간호사의 긍정심리자본, 셀프리더십 및 직무만족의 관계를 파악하고 나아가 직무만족에 미치는 요인을 규명하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 본 연구는 2017년 4월 1일부터 4월 15일까지 S와 Y시에 소재하고 있는 6개의 중소병원에 근무하는 임상간호사를 대상으로 하였으며, 120부를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 IBM SPSS Statistics 20.0 프로그램을 사용하여 기술통계, t-test 혹은 one-way ANOVA, Scheffe, Pearson's correlation coefficient, multiple regression을 통해 분석하였다. 연구결과 임상간호사의 직무만족에 영향을 미치는 요인은 긍정심리자본과 셀프리더십이었으며 이들의 설명력은 27.5%(F=23.51, p<.001)였다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 임상간호사의 직무만족을 증진시킬 수 있는 융복합적 프로그램 개발이 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

일개 종합병원 간호사의 감정노동, 긍정심리역량이 소진에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Emotional Labor and Positive Psychological Capital on Burnout among Nurses at a General Hospital)

  • 이 연구는 종합병원 간호사의 감정노동과 긍정심리역량이 소진에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위함이다. 연구대상자는 경상남도 C시에 소재한 F종합병원에서 근무하고 있는 임상 경력 6개월 이상의 간호사와 책임간호사 157명이며 자료 수집은 2019년 2월 8일부터 2월 22일까지 하였다. 자료는 SPSS WIN 23.0 을 이용하여 빈도, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson 상관계수, Multiple regression으로 분석 하였다. 소진은 감정노동과 유의한 정적 상관관계(r=.531, p<.001)이었으나, 긍정심리역량과는 부적 상관관계(r=-.391, p<.001) 이었다. 소진에 영향을 미치는 요인은 감정노동(β=.47, p<.001), 긍정심리역량(β=-.28, p<.001)으로 나타났으며, 이들의 설명력은 34.9% 이었다(F=42.78 p<.001). 이 연구 결과는 종합병원 간호사의 소진을 낮추는 전략개발에 도움이 될 것이다. 추후 종합병원 간호사의 소진 감소를 위하여 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하기 위한 후속연구가 필요하다.

병원 간호사의 그릿과 긍정심리자본이 직무열의에 미치는 영향 (The Influences of Hospital Nurses' Grit and Positive Psychological Capital on Job Engagement)

  • 본 연구는 간호사의 직무열의에 그릿과 긍정심리자본이 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위한 조사연구이다. 연구 대상자는 종합병원의 간호사 159명이며 2020년 4월 9일부터 4월 21까지 설문 조사를 하였다. 자료의 분석은 t-test, 분산분석, Pearson's 상관계수, 위계적 다중회귀분석을 시행하였으며, SPSS version 24.0을 이용하였다. 연구 결과 직무열의는 그릿 중 꾸준한 노력과 긍정심리자본의 모든 하위영역과 정적 상관관계가 있었다. 직무열의에 영향을 미치는 요인은 긍정심리자본의 하위영역인 낙관주의(β=.28, p=.001)와 자기효능감(β=.23, p=.029)으로 모형의 설명력은 41.8%이었다(F=12.34, p<.001). 추후 직무열의를 증진시키기 위하여 긍정심리자본 향상 프로그램을 개발하고 적용하며 그 효과를 파악하는 후속연구가 필요하다고 사료된다.

Career Management and Employees Retention in Professional Service Organizations: An Empirical Study from Indonesia

  • The purpose of this study is to see how career management affects employee retention in professional service businesses (PSOs). The role of knowledge and skills as moderating variables in the relationship between career management and intention to stay is also investigated. A review of the literature on career management, which includes promotion, training, mentorship, starting salary, and the laxity-stringency of organizational entry-exit rules, leads to the hypothesis that career management positively affects employees' intentions to stay. Such a positive impact may differ between knowledgeable and skilled employees and their less knowledgeable and skilled counterparts. Cross-sectional data is obtained from 200 professionals working for various PSOs. Stepwise regression is employed to analyze the data. The research found that career management positively affects the intention to stay. The impact of promotion, training and mentorship on the intention to stay is moderated by knowledge and skills. Conversely, knowledge and skills do not moderate the effect of starting salary and the laxity-stringency of organizational entry-exit on intention to stay. The study's findings imply that by implementing effective career management, talented professionals can be retained. However, the level of knowledge and skills should be carefully considered. These findings offer significant insights into human capital management, particularly in PSOs.

임상간호사의 간호근무환경과 긍정심리자본이 이직의도에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Nursing Practice Environment and Positive Psychological Capital in Clinical Nurses on Turnover Intention)

  • 본 연구는 임상간호사의 간호근무환경, 긍정심리자본, 이직의도와의 관련성을 파악하고, 임상실무현장에서 임상간호사의 이직의도에 미치는 요인을 규명하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 본 연구의 대상자는 Y시에 소재하고 있는 3개 종합 병원에 근무하는 간호사를 대상으로 하였으며, 193부를 최종 분석에 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 기술통계, t-test 혹은 one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, 단계적 다중회귀분석을 통해 분석하였다. 단계적 다중회귀분석결과 이직의도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 간호근무환경, 긍정심리자본과 근무경력이었으며 이들의 설명력은 41.8%였다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 임상간호사의 이직의도를 감소시키기 위한 간호근무환경 개선과 더불어 긍정심리자본을 강화시킬 수 있는 중재 프로그램 개발이 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

  • Farm mechanization has been rapidly progressed in rice farming since the 1980's, in Korea. The mechanization has been achieved up to 95-97% in the year of 1995, except irrigation and drying process. However, rice production cost remains much more expensive than the cost of other rice farming countries. Since labor cost shares a major portion of the production costs, it is essential to save labor cost with automation and more sophisticated mechanization. However, it requires great capital investment which causes farm management worse. Therefore, the computer program was developed which can select machines to minimize the management and maintenance cost by analyzing available working days in different areas, machinery to purchase, farming size, total farming size in a village, number of machines and custom fee.
