  • Purpose: This study was performed to measure nurses' perception of job stress and job satisfaction, and to clarify the factors influential to their job satisfaction. Methods: Participants were 169 nurses working at a general hospital. Data were collected with self-administrated questionnaires and analyzed by SPSS/PC WIN 15.0. Results: Subjects perceived that job stress was higher than 'middle (3)', job satisfaction was lower than 'middle (3)', and job-related stress detrimental to job satisfaction. Influential factors for job satisfaction in a 2008 survey were duty-related stress, working conditions, and knowledge/skill-related stress. Duty-related stress and working conditions were cited as influential in a 2009 survey. The explained power for job satisfaction job was 32.5% in 2008 and 21.1% in 2009. Conclusions: Higher job-related stress detracts from job satisfaction. Hospital/nursing managers need to develop strategies that could improve the personal relationship between nurses and doctors, and provide administrative support to nurses. Provision of a financial personnel management plan could alleviate future nursing shortage triggered by job dissatisfaction.

  • The International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities(IALA) model course recommends specific aspects of basic curriculums for Vessel Traffic Services(VTS) operator education such as modules, course hours, contents, etc. Most domestic training programs for newly appointed VTS operators comply with such recommendations. The objective of this study is to determine whether such modules for VTS operator training recommended by the current IALA model course correspond to the actual opinions of VTS operators who are currently working in the field. To this end, the relative importance of basic modules for vessel traffic services operator training was analyzed using the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) method. A questionnaire was designed to include 8 modules recommended by the IALA model course, and the survey results of 52 individuals working at 5 VTS centers were analyzed. The result showed that, unlike the assumption by the IALA, domestic VTS operators viewed Nautical Knowledge as the most important modules, followed by Emergency Situations, Traffic Management, Language, Equipment, VHF Radio, Communication Co-ordination, and Personal Attributes, in that order.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how children perceive their mothers' employment. The subjects were 471 elementary school children(4th. 5th. and 6th graders) of working mothers. The instrument used in the present study was a questionnaire consisting of sociodemographic variables and 5 indices. The data were analyzed with multiple regression and stepwise multiple regression. It was found that the child's knowledge about mothers employment, the child's perception of how he/she is affected by having a working mother, the child s perception of mothers feelings about her employment. and the child's perception of mother's interest in him/her predicted the child's attitude toward his/her mother's employment.

  • AZO:H films were prepared by RF magnetron sputtering system with a AZO (2wt% $Al_2O_3$) ceramic target at a temperature of $150^{\circ}C$. The annealing treatments were carried out in hydrogen ambient for 1hr at a temperature of $400^{\circ}C$. The AZO:H films were etched with 1 % HCl. The influence of the properties of AZO:H films deposited in various working pressures is investigated. As a result, the AZO:H film deposited in 4mTorr showed excellent electrical property of $\rho=5.036{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}cm$ and strongly oriented (002) peak. The transmittance in the wavelength of 450nm was above 80%. It can be used as front electrode for increasing efficiency of GaN LED.

  • The main objective of this study is to explore the relationship between psychological factors (i.e. math anxiety, attention, attitude, Working Memory Capacity (WMC), and Field dependency) and students' mathematics problem solving based on Revised Bloom Taxonomy. A sample of 169 K11 school girls were tested on (1) The Witkin's cognitive style (Group Embedded Figure Test). (2) Digit Span Backwards Test. (3) Mathematics Anxiety Rating Scale (MARS). (4) Modified Fennema-Sherman Attitude Scales. (5) Mathematics Attention Test (MAT), and (6) Mathematics questions based on Revised Bloom Taxonomy (RBT). Results obtained indicate that the effect of these items on students mathematical problem solving is different in each cognitive process and level of knowledge dimension.

  • This paper describes some research works of computer-aided design of blanking and piercing for stator and rotor parts and irregularly shaped sheet metal by press. An approach to the system is based on knowledge based rules. The process planning system by considering a blank layout for nesting of irregularly shaped sheet metal and an improved strip layout for stator and rotor parts and irregularly shaped sheet metal is implemented. Using this system, design parameters(utilization ratio, slitting width, pitch, working order, die blank shapes) are determined and output is generated in graphic forms. Knowledges for blank layout and strip layout are extracted from the plasticity theories, handbooks, relevant references and empirical know-hows of experts in blanking companies. The implemented system provides powerful capabilities for process planning of stator and rotor parts and irregularly shaped sheet metal.

  • Spoken dialog system development includes many laborious and inefficient tasks. Since there are many components such as speech recognizer, language understanding, dialog management and knowledge management in a spoken dialog system, a developer should take an effort to edit corpus and train each model separately. To reduce a cost for editting corpus and training each models, we need more systematic and efficent working environment. For the working environment, we propose DialogStudio as an spoken dialog system workbench.

  • In the recent society of knowledge industry, a changed phenomenon of domestic corporate culture, Work Smart working in creative and various ways beyond time and space is emerged from Work Hard working just hard. Thus, many corporations are trying to configure the emotional space beside the work space to make effective and creative achievements in free work environment out of rigid organizational culture in the past. This space is called Amenity space which enables to implement physical and psychological healings simultaneously and this is not a place for rest like in the past industry society. This research suggests distinctive characteristics of other amenity furniture unlike general furniture by analyzing the variously suggested change of forms of amenity furniture for Work Smart and the changes of configuring key factors such as forms, structures and functions of amenity furniture.

  • The Diagnostic Unit of CLINAID can infer working diagnoses for general diseases from the information provided by a user. This user-provided information in the form of signs and symptoms, however, is usually not sufficient to make a final decision on a working diagnosis. In order for the Diagnostic Unit to reach a diagnostic conclusion, it needs to select suitable clinical investigations for the patients. Because different investigations can be selected for the same patient, we need a process that can optimize the selection procedure employed by the Diagnostic Unit. This process, called a selection algorithm, must work with the fuzzy relational method because CLINAID uses fuzzy relational structures extensively for its knowledge bases and inference mechanism. In this paper we present steps of the selection algorithm along with simulation results on this algorithm using fuzzy relational products, both harsh product and mean product. The computation results of applying several different fuzzy implication operators are compared and analyzed.
