  • The purpose of this study was to compare working mothers' sftisfaction with child day care service between those using child care centers in their workplace and those using child care centers close to their houses. their demand for better child care service was also assessed. The study findings can be used as basic information for establishing alternative solutions and developing child day care programs able to meet the different needs of mothers with preschool children. The results from this study were as follows. Firstly, there was a significant difference in satisfaction levels associated with the quality of child day care centers (programs and safety) between the two groups. There were no significant differences in satisfaction levels associated with demographic factors. Secondly, while working mothers using child care centers in their workplace were most concerned with the quality of the center, the other group of working mothers was most concerned with the distance between their houses and the child care centers. Thirdly, both groups preferred the idea that the government make child care subsidies. Thus study results suggest the need for establishing systematic efforts to increase child care services in workplaces and communities and eventually support working mothers.

  • In the past two years, all sectors of society have been underdeveloped and suffered a significant damage due to COVID-19. In particular, people who were working in many areas of research were unable to do anything due to restrictions on meetings with people and social distancing. The purpose of this study is to develop a social distancing device that allows users to maintain the distance in accordance with the government guidelines through an analysis of people's social distancing methods in the COVID-19 society through UX Design. In order to develop the social distancing device, the distance is expressed by changing the color of LED based on research related to UI design such as ultrasonic distance sensor, battery, charging method, distance display method, etc. The outer form of the social distancing device is designed using 3D, the device is developed by installing ultrasonic distance sensor, neo-pixel module and Arduino after printing a prototype using a 3D printer, and this device is tested to develop a final product that helps the social distancing practice amid COVID-19.

  • In this study, the relations of flow rate, discharging distance and droplet size are measured in accordance with the nozzle shape. The dual type nozzles of LPN142 and LPN148, which have identical core diameter (6.0 mm) and the different radial injection angles (${\theta}_2=142^{\circ}$ and $148^{\circ}$), are manufactured. The distribution diameters with discharging distance are quantified by UL2167 test standard. The relations between discharging angle and droplet sizes, which are measured by the method of Helium-Neon laser equipment, are obtained by the empirical correlation as working pressure increase. Moreover, the extinction coefficient, which is major parameter of the radiative transport equation (RTE) is analyzed with variable droplet sizes. Thus, it is possible to opt the nozzle's shape by analyzing the relations of working pressure, spray distance, droplet size and fire characteristics at minimum allowable flow rate.

  • The various alternatives to reduce the construction period and cost in the wide and long tunnel have been attempted recently. However, the concrete lining forming process after finishing tunnel excavation may delay construction period considering the specific conditions of the wide and long tunnel. The concrete lining is indispensible for the road tunnel. For this reason, the blasting-lining synchronizing study had been carried out to reduce construction period in the Gyea-Ryong Tunnel. Lining models were installed at four different distance conditions the floor of the tunnel. After model installation, hundreds of blasting vibration measurements and concrete material tests were performed to calculate the safe distance between blasting point and concrete lining form. The study also introduces a method which can obtain the better ability of construction by improving working environment with the ventilation and the relocation of tunnel equipments in the working places.

But there has been quite deficient information to evaluate working space and technical standards of medical laboratory for accreditation. This study goals to figure out accreditation standard and design guideline for clinical laboratory, and to give safe and efficient design information. Methods: This study has been searched by literature for accreditation standards and design guidelines of clinical pathology in USA, UK, and Germany. Results: Three countries have accredited based on working lab space, staff space, storage space, patient space and health and safety equipment. Design guidelines of three countries commonly have focused on worktable layout, worktable distance and module, and specific laboratory biosafety level. And USA guidelines stress on the architectural design such as design process and passage distance for escape, UK stress on the efficiency as functional work flow and construction cost, lastly Germany design guidelines stress on the operator's safety distance and workstation. Three countries have not only accreditation standards but also design guidelines for more specific quality management, separating from accrediting institute. Implications: In korea, it has been needed to make clinical laboratory design guideline for the safe and efficient environment and reliable and competitive medical service.

  • We fabricated AIN thin film by using RF magnetron sputtering and studied the structural characteristic of AIN thin film with the change of the deposition conditions such as Ar/$N_2$ flow ratio, working pressure, and the distance between substrate and target. The orientation and surface roughness of AIN thin film were studied by using XRD and AFM. We can not identify the orientation of the thin film deposited in Ar, while we obtained the (l00) orientation of the thin film with the addition of $N_2$. Especially, the thin film deposited at 18/2 (seem) of Ar/$N_2$ flow ratio exhibited to be the most (100) oriented. The (100) orientation of thin film becomes weaker as the working pressure becomes higher. The further distance between substrate and target is stronger the (100) orientation of the thin film, but the (100) orientation becomes weaker and (002) orientation started to appear as the distance is shorter. The surface roughness of the thin film deposited at 50$0^{\circ}C$ in Ar only is 1.1 nm, while very smooth thin film of 0.4~0.6 nm is obtained with the addition of $N_2$.

  • The fatalities of pedestrian account for about 40.0% of all fatalities in Korea 2005. Vehicle-Pedestrian accident generates trajectory of pedestrian. In pedestrian involved accident, the most important data to inspect accident is throw distance of pedestrian. The throw distance of pedestrian can be influenced by many variables. But existing studies have been done for simple factors. The variables that influence trajectory of pedestrian can be classified into vehicular factors, pedestrian factors, and road factors. The trajectory of pedestrian, dynamic characteristics of multi-body were analyzed by PC-CRASH, a kinetic analysis program for a traffic accident. PC-CRASH enables an analyst to investigate the effect of many variables. The influence of the offset of impact point was analyzed by Working Model. Based on the results, the variables that influence trajectory of pedestrian were vehicular frontal shape, vehicular impact speed, the offset of impact point, the height of pedestrian, friction coefficients of pedestrian. However the weight of pedestrian did not affect trajectory of pedestrian considerably.

  • This paper presents the vergence control of a parallel stereo camera and its application to underwater stereo camera to enhance the working efficiency of underwater vehicles that equips with manipulators in seabed operation. The stereo camera consists of two parallel lenses mounted on a lateral moving base and two CCD cameras mounted on a longitudinal moving base, which is embedded in a small pressure canister for underwater application. Because the lateral shift is related to the backward shift with a nonlinear relation, only one control input is needed to control the vergence and focus of the camera with a special driving device. We can get a clear stereo vision with the camera for all the range of objects in air and in water, especially in short range objects. The control system of the camera is so simple that we are able to realize a small stereo camera system and to apply it to a stereo vision system for underwater vehicles. This paper also shows how to acquire the distance information of an underwater object with this stereo camera. Whenever we focus on an underwater object with the camera, we can obtain the three-dimensional images and the distance information in real-time.

  • Purpose -The purpose of this paper is to advance the understanding of affective commitment in employees of Korean companies' subsidiaries in Mexico. Specifically, we study the moderating effects of cultural orientation on the relationship between perceived corporate social responsibility (CSR) and affective commitment among these Mexican employees. Research design and methodology - This study was designed to explore the impact of perceived CSR on affective commitment and the moderating roles of collectivism and power distance on the employer-employee relationship. We applied hierarchical regression to survey data collected from 296 employees working for Korean company subsidiaries in Mexico to examine the proposed hypotheses. Results - The results show a significant positive effect from perceived CSR on affective commitment. In addition, this study confirms a positive moderating effect from collectivism and a negative moderating impact from power distance on the relationship between perceived CSR and affective commitment. Conclusions - Drawing upon social identity theory, this study found that Mexican employees' perceptions of their company's CSR and their own cultural value orientations influence affective commitment to the organization. This study extends the understanding of perceived CSR and affective commitment, and particularly demonstrates that the relationship between perceived CSR and affective commitment is influenced by employee collectivistic and power distance orientation.
