We classified quality management practices of manufacturing companies into 'Infra' factor and 'Process' factor which were introduced based on existing literatures and previous studies related to quality management. It was our first objective to confirm its conformance in Korean manufacturing industry, and to examine the two factors effect positively on production performance. Moreover, we tried to examine whether JIT and workforce management have an moderate effect on 'Infra and Process factors-performance' relationship, using moderate regression. As the result of empirical study on nationwide manufacturing companies, we had the results that the classification between Infra factor and Process factor in quality management practices was valid in Korean manufacturing companies, and that the two factors gave performances positive effect. Moreover, our secondary analysis showed that JIT had an positive moderate effect on the Infra factor while workforce management on the Process factor. With these results, we have an interpretation that manufacturing companies which aim to enhance short term performances have to concentrate their effort and investment on Process factor and, on the other hand, ones which aims to improve long term performances on Infra factor.

While the recovery of local construction industry is picking up steam, and the number of the employed in the construction industry is on the increase, workforce supply is out of balance in its quality as well as quantity, and with economic crisis facing the country, construction and recruitment methods are in transition. In addition, rising demand in skilled workforce and a workforce in short supply have expedited wage rises and have brought broad effects on construction including productivity and construction time. Such imbalance in construction workforce supply also causes various structural changes by category. This research compares and analyzes data on annual wages of construction workforce, analyzes the state of construction workforce supply, understands recruitment structure in accordance with workforce supply conditions, and looks over characteristic changes in recruitment structure. With reflections drawn from these, this paper suggests responsive measures to future construction circumstances - changes to wages of construction workforce - as well as prospects of future construction workforce supply and measures designed for stable medium and long-term workforce supply.
The issue of increasing the number of physicians is emerging. Because the physician workforce is a critical component of the health care system, and substantial costs are involved in training personnel, a cautious approach is required. The demand to increase the number of physicians is based on the contention that there are difficulties in accessing essential health services and the need to prepare for future demands such as fostering physician-scientists. However, simply increasing the number of physicians is not an appropriate approach to address these demands, especially considering that the effects of such an increase will appear 10 years later. Moreover, it is concerned that the current argument for increasing the physician workforce is intertwined with political interests. When considering the impact on the health care system, decisions regarding the expansion of the physician workforce should be based on evidence. Additionally, rather than temporarily responding to social issues, it is expected that a governance system will be established to continuously discuss and decide on fostering medical personnel.

The supporting system for agricultural workforce and education strategy has been changing both domestically and worldwide range term. To change the fundamental directions, much more needs to be learned about the process of structural adjustment regarding the dynamics of the agricultural and rural sectors. A rural development doctrine must pay more attention to the ongoing problems of population imbalance and the dissolution of the countryside. The focus should be young people prefer to live in cities because there are more opportunities, services, and great personal fulfillment. This paper was described the effective fostering directions of young agricultural workforce and educational program to prepare future and young farmer for teaching careers in agriculture, food, farm management, and marketing. To achieve these goals, the specific approaches are 1) establish the strong partnership between related organizations of agricultural business, 2) strengthen the management and marketing education of products, 3) create the various in-farming or out-fanning incomes including green tourism, 4) enhance the aggressive marketing strategies by Internet, Telephone, and TV etc, 5) make the association among the same items for the effective research and risk management.

With the types and targets of cyber attacks expanding and with personal information leaks increasing, the quantitative demand for information security specialists has increased. The base for training the workforce has expanded accordingly, but joblessness and job-seeking still coexist. To resolve the gap between labor demand and supply, education and training systems that can supply demand quickly are needed. It takes a considerable amount of time for information security education and new manpower supply through universities and graduate schools to be reflected in the market. However, if information security retraining is carried out in terms of career development of information security and related workforce, the problem of lack of experts could be solved in a relatively short period. This paper investigates and analyzes the information security work of the information security workforce, the degree of skill level, the need for retraining, and the workplace migration experience; it also discusses the direction of career development retraining.
Background: In Korea, the problem of physician workforce imbalances has been a debated issue for a long time. This study aimed to draw key lessons and policy implications to Korea by analyzing projection models of physician demand/supply among five countries. Methods: We adopted theoretical framework and analyzed detail indicators used in projection models of demand/supply comparatively among countries. A systematic literature search was conducted using PubMed and Google Scholar with key search terms and it was complimented with hand searching of grey literature in Korean or English. Results: As a results, Korea has been used a supply-based traditional approach without taking various variables or environmental factors influencing on demand/supply into consideration. The projection models of USA and Netherlands which considered the diversity of variables and political issues is the most closest integrated approach. Based on the consensus of stakeholder, the evolved integrated forecasting approach which best suits our nation is needed to minimize a wasteful debate related to physician demand/supply. Also it is necessary to establish the national level statistics indices and database about physician workforce. In addition, physician workforce planning will be discussed periodically. Conclusion: We expect that this study will pave the way to seek reasonable and developmental strategies of physician workforce planning.
In order to increase the productivity of the logistics center and transportation, we try to articulate the priority ranking factors of the productivity influenced by the personality of the field workers (logistics center workers) and functional workers (drivers) via the AHP technique Individual personality was studied by applying the Big 5 model of psychological factors (openness, Conscientiousness, extroversion, Agreeableness, neuroticism). In this paper, extraversion was critically analyzed as a priority factor. A trait of extroversion is a strongly active and individual personality. In this study, the field workers are logistics center workers and the functional workers are drivers. They are interactively influenced in the In & Out operation. For example, when it comes to 'up and down work' and 'inspection work', the functional workers perform 'up and down work' and 'delivery work' and the field workers perform 'inspection work'. Stressing on the respective work has an affect on work productivity. Inspection workforce has something to do with inventory management. Functional workforce affects the delivery workforce. Delivery work is positively correlated with customer satisfaction. Nevertheless, as a result of research, extrovert personality that has something to do with an energetic activity would not affect on the implementation of their operation. In addition, personal extraversion of workers and drivers in the warehouse can have a significant impact on job commitment and productivity improvement.
Background: The industrial revolution that took place in the United Kingdom (UK) between 1760 and 1830 led to profound social change. Occupational medicine was concerned with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of occupational diseases, that is, diseases directly caused by exposure to workplace hazards. A similar pattern of development has occurred globally. Methods: A review of relevant literature. Results: The international conceptualization and development of occupational health occurred during the 20th century. A new paradigm for occupational health has emerged that extends the classical focus on what might be termed "health risk management" that is, the focus on workplace hazards and risk to health to include the medical aspects of sickness absence and rehabilitation, the support and management of chronic noncommunicable diseases, and workplace health promotion. Conclusion: The future strategic direction for occupational health will be informed by a needs analysis and a consideration of where it should be positioned within future healthcare provision. What are the occupational health workforce implications of the vision for occupational health provision? New challenges and new ways of working will necessitate a review of the competence and capacity of the occupational health workforce, with implications for future workforce planning.
A significant proportion of information subjects experience information security breaches, and the number of reports and counseling cases of personal information infringements is increasing. Increased awareness of the importance of information security has raised interest in the personnel in charge of such tasks. However, hiring excellent new workers and preventing turnovers in information security remain unresolved. In this paper, by modeling the job career path of information security workforce as a Markov chain, we analyze the workforce turnover process and long-term turnover trends by information security jobs, and further analyze the number and duration of turnovers required to engage in specific jobs. The results of this study are expected to be a reference to balancing the supply and demand of information security workers for the government and to ensuring efficient management of the workforce for businesses.
At this time, it is very urgent and important that the new high value-added industries with convergence and embedded software technologies are promoted to make the driving force for new growth. Moreover, software is used as an essential part or material of nearly all products. However, the economic and social treatment over the software workforce, which is the core of software development, is very weak. In addition, the discussion or study on the treatment improvement and value awareness of software practitioners is almost non-existent. Therefore, this study suggests some measures for software workforce's improved treatment to meet their increasing role. We examine the present state of software workforce, discuss their status and role, and suggest some measures for the improvement of their working conditions and social treatment.
