This research was conducted to identify factors that affect work-life balance and happiness among married working couples with a double income. To this end, a survey was administered to 260 married working couples in the Seoul metropolitan region. The analysis of the survey responses using the SPSS (Ver. 21) program yielded several important results. First, the variables that significantly affected work-family balance included the number of family dinners eaten together, meaning of life, efforts to strike a work-life balance, and the availability of social institutions and policies that promote work-life balance. Variables that significantly affected work-leisure balance included meaning of life, number of family dinners eaten together, gender, and the availability of social institutions and policies that promote work-leisure balance. As for work-growth balance, significant variables included meaning of life, communication with colleagues, income, and meaning of work. Finally, variables that significantly affected happiness included meaning of life, income, communication with colleagues, and work-growth balance. Based on these results, follow-up research needs to be conducted on various groups to help determine the factors that will ensure their work-life balance and happiness.
It is important for the Startup team to enhance their employee's work & life balance in recent ages. this study is to research the effect of work & life balance on organizational pride, job satisfaction and performance. Also, we explore how the organizational climate which compose with autonomy, leader's support and trust affects work & life balance. This study analyzed the path effect with PLS method using data from 151 Startup teams. The results of analysis are as follows. First, it was confirmed that supervisor's support, trust of team climate positively influence work & life balance but autonomy is not confirmed to have the relationship with work & life balance. Second, work & life balance have a positive effect on organizational pride and job satisfaction. In addition, this study shows that organizational pride and job satisfaction have the relationship between work & life balance and team performance. Also, Startup team managing the work & life balance will get better performance and retain the competition.
Purpose: This study aimed to confirm the mediating effect of work-life balance organizational culture in the relationship between work-life balance and quality of nursing service for clinical nurses. Methods: Participants included 224 nurses from four hospitals located in D city. Data was collected from 3 to 21 August 2020 using a self-report questionnaires. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient were used for analysis. The mediating effect was assessed by Baron and Kenny's three-step hierarchical regression analysis and bootstrapping methods. Results: There were significant relationships between work-life balance and work-life balance organizational culture (r=.45, p<.001), work-life balance and quality of nursing service (r=.18, p=.005), and work-life balance organizational culture and quality of nursing service (r=.34, p<.001). Also, work-life balance organizational culture (β=.32, p<.001) showed a total mediating effect on the relationship between work-life balance and quality of nursing service. Conclusion: The development and provision of programs that can improve the work-life balance and establish an organizational culture that supports it will help improve the quality of nursing services.

This study aimed to identify differences in the level of work-life balance as well as the effect of independent variables, including family (sharing family work, support for working), organization (culture, support services and systems), and community variables (accessibility to and amount of work-life balance programs), on work-life balance in South Korea, Japan, and the U.K. For these purposes, data were collected from 311, 324, and 322 married, working women (from 30 to 50 years of age) from Korea, Japan, and the U.K., respectively. It was consistently shown that U.K. employees scored higher in work-life balance than Korean and Japanese employees. Compared with Japan and the U.K., Korean participants were significantly lower in terms of work-leisure balance and work-self-development balance. The regression analysis revealed that 'sharing family work with partner' was commonly important and a major factor in all three countries. A 'supportive organizational culture' predicted work-life balance for Korean and Japanese participants, while work-life balance programs had a powerful effect on work-life balance only for U.K. participants. In the case of community variables, there were no significant effects for U.K. participants with regard to work-life balance. In contrast, 'the amount of work-life balance programs offered' was shown to affect the work-life balance of Korean working women, while 'accessibility to the programs' was significantly influential in Japan. We interpret these results according to social, economic, political, and psychological factors.

Purpose - This paper is to review recent literature, by conducting a thorough investigation of the limitations and implications for future research on work-life balance with the focus and linkages between work-life balance practices, machine learning and emotional intelligence, work-life conflict, the correlations between work-life enrichment and work-life balance practices, the relationships between employee job satisfaction and work-life balance, the links between work-life balance and the managerial support. Research design, data, and methodology - The paper will further detail linkages between work-life balance and organizational performance outcomes productivity and innovation. Previous literatures have paid attentions to the link of HR practices and organizational outcomes such as productivity, flexibility, and financial performance, but the understanding needs to be extended to involve innovation performance. Dealing with employees' emotions using different machine learning techniques is one of the phenomenal researches in today's world. Here, we examine how far the employees are conscious of their own self and found the ideas and views of an individual about themselves and others. Without proper knowledge about their personality it will be very difficult for an individual to manage their own emotions. This study also aims at finding out the individual abilities to manage their emotions in order to perform well. Conclusions - A theoretical conceptual framework has been built by integrating the existing literature to explain a number of factors which are closely associated with work-life balance. The conceptual model illustrates how the work-life balance interplays with performance and interrelates with the aforementioned factors.
We investigated the work-life balance of clinical professors in charge of patient care, research, and education at medical schools and the demand for work-life balance support according to position (professor, associate professor, or assistant professor). In total, 163 clinical professors completed the consent form and participated in the study. They filled out an online survey consisting of questions about essential characteristics, a work-life balance test, stress, burnout, work-life satisfaction, and work-life balance support needs. We analyzed the results by analysis of variance and cross-tabulation using IBM SPSS ver. 23.0. Differences were found in work-life balance, stress, burnout, and satisfaction with life and work by position. The requirements for support for work-life balance also varied by professional status. Professors had a higher balance between life and work than associate professors or assistant professors. The specific requirements for work-life balance support were also slightly different for each position. Overall, there was a high demand for work process simplification and efficiency for work support, flexible working hours and sabbatical years for family and leisure, and career management consulting and training support for growth. Assistant professors and associate professors had a lower level of work-life balance than professors, as well as higher levels of stress and burnout. Professors' job satisfaction was also higher than that of the other groups. Based on the results of this study, we hope that a healthy work environment can be established through work-life balance support suitable for clinical professors' positions.

The purpose of this study was to find out the actor effect and the partner effect in relation to spousal support, job support, work-family spillover, and work-life balance in dual-earner couples. The subjects of this study were 176 dual-earner couple, whose youngest children are under the age of 16 and who work over 15 hours each week. The research tool was a questionnaires. Factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, correlation analysis, and APIM were performed for the data analysis. The main results of this study as follows. First, for both wives and husbands, perceived spousal support had a positive actor effect on work-life balance. However, perceived husband's spouse support for wife's support had positive partner effect on the wife's work-life balance, the wife's perceived spousal support for her husband' did not have a partner actor effect on the husband's work-life balance. Second, for both wives and husbands, job support had a positive actor effect on work-life balance. In addition, the wife's job support had a positive partner effect on the husband's work-life balance, however, the husband's job support did not have a partner actor effect on the wife's work-life balance. Third, for both wives and husbands, work-family conflict had a negative actor effect on work-life balance. In addition, the wife's work-family conflict had a negative partner effect on the husband's work-life balance, however, the husband's work-family conflict did not have a partner actor effect on the wife's work-life balance. Fourth, for both wives and husbands, work-family enrichment had a positive actor effect on work-life balance. In addition, the husband's work-family enrichment had a positive partner effect on the wife's work-life balance, however, the wife's work-family enrichment did not have a partner actor effect on the husband's work-life balance.

This study examines the level of work-life balance for Nonprofit organization(NPO) workers and their turnover intentions, to identify how work-life balance affects workers' turnover intention. From October 10 to November 10, 2013, a survey was conducted among workers at NPOs located in Busan, South Korea, through interviews, emails, and mail, and 286 responses were used for this analysis. The results showed that the NPO workers' level of work-life balance was 3.12 for work-family life, 3.07 for work-leisure life, and 3.02 for work-personal life on a five-point scale; the median value was 3.0. Turnover intention was 2.71, which was slightly lower than the median value of 3.0, again on a five-point scale, but it was relatively higher for younger workers, single workers, workers who indicated a lower level of work-personal life balance, and workers whose education included two-years or less of college. These findings suggest that it is important to determine factors that lower turnover intention among these workers and develop programs and support that enhances work-life balance, particularly work-personal life balance.
The purpose of this study is to construct the family support system and suggest various policies for work-life balance to create the family-friendly society. For this purpose, this study showed the theoretical background for constitution of integrated family support system-community, government and business. Especially, this study emphasized that family-centered viewpoint to the policy is needed and that support for worklife balance not work-family balance should be enlarged. Various policies were suggested in three parts and the role of community was emphasized. Finally, this study presented the necessity of laws and committee for work-life balance and role of healthy family-support center for work-life balance.
Recently, workers are interested in work-life balance. However, most dual- income couples do not make the effort to achieve work-life balance in their everyday life compared with many workplaces that make various family-friendly policies available to them. Therefore, this study aims to suggest the necessity and process of work-life balance through career management over one's lifespan. The needs and resources of families are not the same during every stage of the family life cycle. Thus, dual-income couples should aim to invest in career management which includes balancing their work and their family when considering their future career and life. Additionally, they should try to match the needs and resources of both their work and their family by using family resources, workplace policies, and community networks.
