For the efficient co-authoring of multimedia documents in a distributed systems environment, the cooperative-work management systems that can not only allow the sharing of distributed resources but also facilitate the authors' interaction, are needed. In this paper, we present a cooperative-work management system with hybrid architecture, called CW-MAN, in which the information on shared objects and co-authoring management is stored in a dedicated computer system but the shared objects distributed all over the local computer systems. The main management functions provided by the CW-MAN are those for shared objects, session, and telepointing. The shared-object use them exclusively. The session managements allows authors to dynamically create, update, and destroy sessions. Lastly, the telepointing management allows local pointing events to be synchronously presented to remote systems.

인터넷 기반의 과학 연구 협업 환경은, 구현 경험에 의하면, 사용자가 확장할 수 있어야 하고 작업 공간에 도구 및 객체들을 동적으로 추가할 수 있어야 하고, 작업을 개인 작업 공간과 공유 작업 공간사이에서 이동할 수 있어야 하며, 인터넷 상에서 쉽게 접근이 가능해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 그러한 요구사항을 만족시키기 위한, Collaboratory Builder's Environment(CBE) 라고 불리는, 협업 환경을 구축하기 위한 개발 환경의 소프트웨어적 구조를 제시한다. CBE는 협업 환경을 협력적인 애플릿(collaborative applet)들로 구성함으로써, 사용자 확장성을 제공한다. 공유 작업 공간의 동적인 재구성의 지원을 위해, CBE는 애플릿, 사용자 및 임의의 데이터 객체를 포함할 수 있는 룸(room)이라는 은유적인 개념을 사용한다. 룸은 지속성을 지원함으로써, 동기적인 협업뿐만 아니라 비동기적인 협업도 지원할 수 있다. 인터넷 상에서의 접근을 위해, 룸의 구성원들은 적절한 권한의 역할(role)을 가진다. 제시된 모델의 프로토타입은 Java로 구현되었으며 Java를 지원하는 웹 브라우저를 이용하여 실행할 수 있다. 구현된 시스템은 4일간 진행된 과학적 협업 활동에서 전 세계의 79명의 우주과학자들을 포함한 95명의 사용자들에 의해 사용되었다. 그 협업 활동의 사용 분석도 제시한다.

약 4차 산업 혁명 시대의 기술 발전에 따라 다양한 분야에서 HMD를 활용하는 기술이 응용되고 있다. HMD는 AR/VR 등의 가상현실 분야에서 특히 유용하게 활용되고 있으며 원격지에 위치한 사용자가 현장의 생생한 감동을 전달받는 데 매우 효과적이다. 이러한 특성에 따라 협업과 관련한 분야에서도 HMD를 활용하는 빈도가 커지고 있다. 그러나 HMD를 협업에 적용 시 원격지에 위치한 전문가와 현장에 위치한 작업자 사이의 의사소통이 원활하지 못하여 사용성 측면의 다양한 문제점을 야기하기도 한다. 본 논문에서는 원격지 전문가와 현장의 작업자가 HMD를 활용하여 협업 시 발생하는 다양한 문제점을 해결하고, 보다 효율적인 협업의 진행이 가능한 새로운 형태의 HMD 구조 및 기능을 설계/제안하며 SUS 평가 기법을 활용하여 사용성을 검증한다. SUS 평가 결과 본 논문에서 제안한 새로운 형태의 HMD 구조 및 기능은 86.75점을 나타내었으며, 이는 기존 HMD 구조가 가지는 협업 시 제약사항, 사용성의 불편함 등을 크게 해소한 것으로 판단된다. 향후 본 논문에서 제안하는 HMD 구조 및 설계가 실질적으로 적용될 시 HMD를 활용한 응용 기술은 급격하게 확장될 것으로 기대된다.

To enhance the university-industry collaboration, a novel program named as Internship & Capstone Design Integrated program (ICIP) is developed by Dongguk University. Senior students must take one Capstone design class for graduation. By participating in summer Internship and one-year Capstone Design work, practical problems given by businesses are solved. The ICIP is a Project and Internship-based course. By participating in summer internship and one-year Capstone Design work, practical problems given by businesses are solved. The internship course requires students to work in teams under mentors who work in the partner company proposed project themes. Students apply their academic experiences in constructing real projects at work under the supervision of their site mentors and academic advisor. In this regard, this study attempts to present a case study on the assessment of program outcomes using the Internship.

Many leading companies provide family-friendly policies for a good work-family balance and to increase the productivity of their workers. The workers receive such benefits as family leaves or financial support for caring for their dependents. But the employees need much more support than these benefits to properly care for their families. This study examines the role of the companies in the expansion of family-friendly policies to the community. A few companies see community relations-such as investing in community programs-as linked to work-family policies. Accordingly, this study suggests the best practices and alternatives of many companies. This study also examines the role and perspectives of the Family-Friendly Support Center as an organization that can lead the community involvement of the business. This center can promote the company's collaboration and network of stakeholders.

Health care has become a rapidly growing industry where the role of nurses as a group of emotional labor employees is central and prone to burnout. The purpose of this study was to examine the role of supervision in moderating burnout caused by the effect of work intensity, customer contact, and self-efficacy, where the moderating role of supervision on burnout with its various predictors is still unstable. This quantitative study was based on research samples collected through questionnaires from 131 hospital nurses spread over two different locations. The questionnaire asked about supervision, work intensity, customer contact, self-efficacy and burnout used a Likert scale, which was then analyzed using SEM-PLS. The results indicated that work intensity and self-efficacy had a significant effect on burnout, while customer contact had no significant effect on burnout. Supervision as a moderator only significantly moderates the effect of work intensity on burnout, while supervision is not significant as a moderating variable on the effect of customer contact and self-efficacy on burnout. This study can contribute to the development of theories about burnout and practically can be used as a reference by policy makers in enhancing the role of supervision for nurses in hospitals.

Steward Observatory has a rich and diverse program of investigations, with significant groups working on star and planet formation and astrobiology, galaxy and quasar formation and evolution, technology for adaptive optics and interferometry, computational astrophysics, and effectiveness of educational practice. To support this work, Steward operates and offers a range of observational and other facilities, including the Large Binocular Telescope, the MMT, the Magellan Telescopes, the Arizona Radio Observatory, and a suite of 1- and 2-m class telescopes. A special opportunity for IR astronomy exists with Arizona now running UKIRT. Steward Observatory astronomers would welcome the opportunity to form genuine scientific collaborations that are mutually beneficial for high-impact projects and improving the observing facilities.

The IPTV Standardization work being done by the ITU-T in collaboration with other SDOs and telecommunication companies. Currently IPTV services are provided with no global standards and interoperability. ITU-T leads the process of IPTV standardization. We used the ITU-Ts working documents which were publically available to investigate the direction of IPTV standardization process. Many things including architecture, services, service requirements, codec and error correction mechanisms etc already defined through recommendations. But still there is effort going on to standardize the complete IPTV system.

본 연구에서는 웹 기반 멀티미디어 협력 작업 환경에서의 오류 관리기에 대해서 기술한다. 웹 기반 멀티미디어 협력 작업 환경은 멀티미디어 협력 작업에 웹의 동기화 기술을 확장한 웹노트, 즉 복제형 구조에 기반한 응용 공유의 동작 원리를 이용하여 동기화를 수행할 수 있는 환경을 의미한다. 오류 관리기의 기능에는 오류 검출과 복구가 있다. 웹 상에서의 세션 유지와 복원을 위하여 웹 세션과 직접 연관된 프로세서만을 주기적으로 폴링(polling)하여 오류 감지를 수행하고 복구를 위하여 복원이 가능한 경우에는 단순 재실행 방법을 사용한다.

본 연구에서는 웹 기반 멀티미디어 공동 작업 환경에서의 다중 세션을 잘 유지하기 위하여 웹 노트 오류 제어를 위한 관리기에 대해서 기술한다. 웹 기반 멀티미디어 공동 작업 환경은 멀티미디어 협력 작업에 웹의 동기화 기술을 확장한 웹 노트, 즉 복제형 구조에 기반을 둔 응용 공유의 동작 원리를 이용하여 동기화를 수행할 수 있는 환경을 의미한다. 각 세션의 생성에 따라 서비스 제공자는 생성된 서비스 제공자 인스턴스를 생성하게 되고 이 인스턴스는 부모인 서비스 제공자의 자원을 이용하여 다수 세션을 지원한다. 이러한 환경에서의 웹 노트 오류 제어 시스템을 기술한다.
