Objectives: The purpose of this study is to compare alcohol drinking behaviors between living alone and living together women in Korea. Methods: 6~7th National Heath and Nutrition Examination Survey(2013~2016) data were analyzed using SPSS statistics complex samples. 9,373 Korean Women, aged 19-65 years were included in this study. Among them, 560 participants(5.1%) was living alone women and analyzed between characteristics of drinking behaviors of living alone and living together women. Results: Adjusted confounding variables were analyzed and the risk of light drinking behavior was not significant between the groups. However the group of living alone women showed in higher risk of binge drinking(OR=1.57, 95%CI=1.19-2.07) than those of living together women. Conclusions: Living alone women were associated with binge drinking behaviors compared to living together women. Thus, living alone women are needed to concern on social behaviors including alcohol drinking.

Background: To evaluate the clinical significance of atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASCUS) in PAP test in post-menopausal women and compare with reproductive age women. Materials and Methods: A total of 367 patients who referred to our gynecologic oncology clinic were included to the study between September 2012 and August 2013. Data for 164 post-menopausal (group 1) and 203 pre-menopausal (group 2) women with ASCUS cytology were evaluated retrospectively. Immediate colposcopy and endocervical curettage was performed for both groups and conization for all women with a result suggestive of CIN2-3. Histopathological results and demographic features of patients were compared between the two groups. Results: Mean age of the patients was $54.6{\pm}6.5$ years in group 1 and $38{\pm}6.6$ years in group 2. Some 14 (8.5%) of post-menopausal women and 36 (17.7%) of pre-menopausal women were current smokers (p=011). Totals of 38 (23.2%) post-menopausal and 64 (31.5%) pre-menopausal women were assessed for HPV-DNA. High risk HPV was detected in 7 (4.3%) and 21 (10.3%), respectively (p=0.029). Final histopathological results recorded were normal cervix, low grade cervical intra-epithelial neoplasia (CIN 1), and high grade cervical intra-epithelial neoplasia (CIN2-3). In group 1 results were 84.8%, 12.2% and 1.8%, respectively, and in group 2 were 71.9%, 23.2% and 4.9%. There were no cases of micro invasive or invasive cervical carcinoma in either group. Two cases were detected as endometrial carcinoma in the menopausal group (1.2%). Conclusions: In current study we found that preinvasive lesions were statistically significantly higher in pre-menopausal women than post-menopausal women with ASCUS. Cervicitis was more common in menopausal women. Therefore, we think that in case of ASCUS in a post-menopausal woman there is no need for radical management.
The Gyeongseong Women's Medical Training Center was created as the result of the efforts of our internal visionaries with meaningful foreign missionaries to cultivate female doctors, yet the systematic structure of the institution developed primarily out of Korean efforts. Koreans have tried hard to cultivate their descendants and the skills of the Korean people within this framework, challenging the oppression of the ruling class in a given environment, and the results have continued to this day. First, during the Early period (1890-1909), Korea began to establish women's education and the first female doctors were trained with the help of foreign missionaries. Second, during the Growth period (1910-1919), while it was difficult for women's education to be easily expressed during Japanese colonial era, the need for women's education was growing as part of the patriotic enlightenment movement, and female students who wanted to become doctors began to go abroad. In addition, during this period, the means to train female doctors in Korea was available, but this system was not recognized by the Japanese colonial government. Third, during the Preparatory period (1920-1928), the Gyeongseong Women's Medical Class, which gave practical training to female doctors, was established and centered on Rosetta Hall and female doctors who studied abroad. Fourth, a women's medical school was established during the Establishment period (1929-1938), which created a foundation for stable supply of professional women's medical personnel. In this article, we studied the process of women who were marginalized in education until they were trained as professional intellectuals, and we hope that it will help them understand the current women's education in Korea and draw directions in the future.
Innovation and entrepreneurship education is becoming an important development opportunity for colleges and universities to realize curve overtaking. Affected by the physical and mental development characteristics, female college students in innovative undertaking showed different growth characteristics. In order to further promote female college students' innovative undertaking, we should combine the characteristics of female design with innovation entrepreneurship education path. As one of the three women's colleges, the general innovation and entrepreneurship course system of Shandong Women's University provides a wide education of innovation and entrepreneurship consciousness and thinking for all students. The undergraduate major of business Administration (entrepreneurial management) provides the whole system education of entrepreneurship, and through "system guarantee, professional construction, course system, competition assistance and project cultivation", female students' entrepreneurial consciousness is cultivated and their entrepreneurial ability is improved.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the needs and demands of middle-aged women concerning the educational contents of tea-culture, the managing methods of educational programs, and a plan to invigorate tea culture education as a whole. Here is the summary of the main results. 1) The need for tea-culture education scored an average of 4.14 / 5(maximum score). The actual needs for tea-culture education had varied according to the women's place of living, educational motives, and the desire to become lecturers in the future. That is, the actual needs for tea-culture education scored high among the groups who displayed strong personal motives to cultivate their inner minds and learn tea-culture seriously, groups who lived in Seoul${\cdot}$Taegu${\cdot}$Cheonju, and groups who wanted to become future lecturers. 2) The need for a systematic management of tea-culture educational programs scored an average of 4.10 / 5(maximum score). The need for a management of tea-culture educational programs varied according to the women's educational level and their desire to become future lecturers. That is, the need for a systematic management of tea-culture educational programs scored high among groups whose educational level was high, and groups who wanted to become future lecturers. 3) The need for a plan to invigorate tea-culture education scored an average of 4.05 / 5(maximum score). The need for a plan to invigorate tea-culture education varied according to the women's place of living, educational level, the managing subject of educational organizations, the desire to become future lecturers. That is, the need for a plan to invigorate tea-culture education scored high among the groups who lived in Seoul${\cdot}$Taegu${\cdot}$Cheonju, groups whose educational level was high, groups who were members of life-long educational facilities within universities, and groups who desired to become future lecturers.
This descriptive study aimed to determine the effects of community based health education program for pregnant women on their confidence in labor and breastfeeding. Data were obtained using several questionnaires and administered to 174 pregnant women who have participated (n=49) and have not participated(n=125) in health education program, and 244 mothers of infants who lived in one city in Kyunggi province. Summaries of finding were as follows; First, pregnant women who have participated in health education program showed significantly higher score in confidence in labor than those who have not. Also, confidence in labor was different according to the level of education. Second, pregnant women participated in health education program showed higher score in knowledge and attitude on breastfeeding, but the differences were not significant. Knowledge on breastfeeding was higher in multipara. More positive attitude on breastfeeding was found in working mothers and highly educated mothers. Third, $54.1\%$ of mothers continued breastfeeding over six months. Main reasons for discontinuing breastfeeding were lack of breast milk amount, and health problems in infants and mothers. In this study, we could identify the positive effects of health education program for pregnant women provided by public health center, and find the related factors of confidence in labor and breastfeeding. Community based health education program for pregnant women, especially for vulnerable group should be expanded.
Objectives: The purpose of the study was to develop communication strategies for effective nutrition education targeting pregnant women and to create nutrition education contents. Methods: The format and the contents of online resources on nutrition information for pregnant women provided by reliable institutions were analyzed. Possible solutions to overcome barriers of nutrition education as well as communication strategies for effective nutrition education were identified by a brainstorming process. Based on the communication strategies, contents for nutrition education were created. Understandability, level of interest, applicability to daily life, harmony of text and illustration, and overall satisfaction of the contents were evaluated by dietitians and pregnant women. Results: The four communication strategies were developed; (1) to focus on a few important messages, (2) to provide evidence-based information, (3) to create illustrations or infographics with a minimum amount of text, and (4) to provide tips on how to improve the current diet options. Based on these strategies, the contents were focused on three important nutrients for pregnant women, folate, iron, and calcium. The percentages of the recommended nutrient intakes of the three nutrients on selected menu and its improved version by adding a dish or changing a dish into another dish were calculated and provided. Finally, the contents were delivered as illustrations with a minimum amount of text. Overall, dietitians and pregnant women were satisfied with the contents. Conclusions: The contents developed in this study can be used in a pamphlet or a pregnancy diary, or can be shared in social networking services. Further contents on other nutrients and various menu are expected to be developed using these communication strategies.
The purpose of this study was to analyze career behaviors(job exploration, job hunting) of the need mode in the women's second labor market transition. To obtain this objective 501 women, who quitted their job in 780 women randomly sampling completed questionnaire. To analyze data, $x^2$, ANOVA were executed. Research results were explained, there were no difference career behaviors, experience of career counseling, experience of career education, aspiration of career behaviors by the need mode in the women's second labor market transition. But, there were difference motivation of labor market entry, career barriers, preference of occupations, level of job competence of career behaviors by the need mode in the women's second labor market transition. The implications of the results on women's second labor market transition of developing career education and counseling programs were discussed and finally suggestions for further study were made.
Recently, women's social activities in our society have been greatly increased and legal system and mechanism of social structure to pursue a society where gender equality shall be realized has been discussed lively in a detail manner. Nevertheless, the rate of social advancement of Korean women shows much lower than that of the western industrialized countries. The aim of this study is to examine such problem and to look for a solution thereof. As the subject for this survey, such social welfare facility as women's hall was selected, and then its state of facilities was investigated. The results from this survey revealed that women's hall, which had been started constructing since 1950s, began to spread out nationwide reaching the 1990s, and that women's hall was greatly used as a major public facility that supports women's social activities in each region, and that women's hall, which had been started as a social welfare facility, was a multifunctional facility performing functions such as welfare, education, culture and community, and that educational function among these had been changed a little by little in the aspect of contents and purpose according to the changes of times, however, education for women was treated as a major important function in the women's hall and operated accordingly.
This study has been done for the purpose of testing the effects of education for women's health on the performance of health promoting behavior and self esteem of college women. The study was designed as simulated control group pretest-posttest design, the experimental group was composed 182 college women and the control group was composed 151 college women at D University in Seoul. The instruments used for this study were Health Promoting Behavior Scale developed by Walker et al(1987)were modified by Shin(1997) and Self Esteem Scale developed by Rosenberg(1965). The data were analyzed by chi-square test, t-test and ANCOVA using $SPSSIPC^+$ program. The results were as follows: 1. The result of the homogeneity test in terms of the demographic characteristics of two group showed that there were significant difference in major discipline($x^2=155.854$, p=.000), religion($x^2=6.325$, p=.011), and disease experience($x^2=3.949$, p=.046). 2. Hypotheses 1 that the college women who get women's health education will have a higher score of health promoting behavior than the college women who do not get women's health education was supported. The score of health promoting behavior between two group showed statistically difference(t=7.25, p= .000). Mer control of covariates(major discipline, religion, and disease experience), the score of health promoting behavior between two group showed statistically difference(F=31.817, p= .000). 3. Hypotheses 2 that the college women who get women's health education will have a higher score of self esteem than the college women who do not get women's health education was supported. The score of self esteem between two group showed statistically difference(t=4.91, p= .000). After control of covariates(major discipline, religion, disease experience), the score of self esteem between two group showed statistically difference(F=12.688, p= .000). The following suggestions are made based on the above results : 1) Replication of the research is needed to confirm effects of health education including the college man and various demographic differences. 2) More effective health education programs appropriate to subject need to be developed. 3) Nursing college or departments of nursing should make an effort to develop and carry out various health education program for health for all.
