Empirical study comparing the leadership styles of women an men is a popular on management in organization. Consistent with study comparing women and men on many organizational behavior, I have identified that leadership style from survey. The this study examined follower's perception of the women and men the leadership in organization. More specifically, I examined how male and female follower evaluated the leadership style and effectiveness of women and man, how these evaluations were affected by the degree of stereotypes of the followers toward gender roles, finally the variables affecting the evaluation of the leadership effectiveness. Total 158 follower's participated in this survey to explore these research questions. The results that female evaluator were evaluated higher in the transformational leadership than male evaluator, while the evaluation for man leader was higher than the woman leader in terms of the transactional and task-oriented leadership style. Also, another analysis the gender difference of the organizational member revealed that woman leader better than man was higher leader relational and transformational leadership. However, both male and female followers who were no gender-difference in decision making work, interpersonal work, relation coordination work, consulting work.
This paper intends to examine the relationship between the consumer's enduring involvement toward clothing product, fashion innovativeness, and fashion opinion leadership. Specific purposes of the study are: 1) to identify dimensions of the enduring involvement toward clothing based on the theoretical framework; 2) to find out the effects of clothing involvement on fashion innovativeness and fashion innovativeness,m fashion opinion leadership, and demographic variables. The Likert Type questionnaires were used to measure clothing involvement, fashion innovativeness, and fashion opinion leadership. Samples of 389 women(college students, career women, housewives) living in Taegu area were analyzed by factor analysis, Pearson's correlations, t-test, and multiple regression analysis. Main results of the study are as follows: 1) Concept of the enduring involvement toward clothing is composed of five dimensions: fashion, importance, pleasure, self-expression, and perceived buying risk. 2) The clothing involvement is found to have significant influences on fashion innovativeness and fashion opinion leadership. 3) The relationships between the clothing involvement, age, educational level, and marital status are found to be statistically significant.

The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of fashion leaders in relation to attitude toward change and socioeconomic level among Dae Gu woman as well as among rural women living on the suburbs of Dae Gu: and to compare the characteristics of these urban women in a mass society with the rural women living in a traditional society. Measures selected for this study consisted of the Schrank Fashion Opinion Leadership Inventory(1973), the Schrank ana Sugawara Attitudes Toward Change Inventory(1977), and socioeconomic level. The fashion Innovation Inventory was developed by author which consisted of a list of clothing and accessory items selected after surveys to local stores, campus, and main streets, and study of fashion magazines for the current seasons. The data from 280 respondents were analyzed by Pearson corrleation coefficients, analysis of variance, and t-test. The results were as followers : 1) A significant relationship was found between fashion leadership and socioeconomic level for both urban and rural women. High attitude toward change was significantly related to high fashion innovativeness and high fashion opinion leadership among the urban groups. re significant relationship was found between fashion opinion leadership and attitude toward change among the rural sample. 2) A significant difference was found in attitude toward change scores of four urban sub-sample groups : fashion innovators, fashion opinion leaders, fashion innovative communicators(who exhibit high scores on both fashion innovativeness and fashion opinion leader-ship), and non-fashion innovative communicators. No significant difference was found in attitude toward change scores of four rural sub-sample groups. No significant differences were found in socioeconomic level of four sub-sample groups for both urban and rural women.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the changes of self-esteem and leadership scores in nursing students during two years. Method: The subjects were 233 nursing students in their first year in 2007, and 257 in their third year in 2009. Data were collected 2 times for the same subjects, in 2007 and 2009 respectively, with the same structured questionnaires. Result: Satisfaction for major and interpersonal relationships of nursing students was significantly increased in the third year over the first year. Self-esteem and leadership scores were significantly increased in the third year over the first year (t=5.48, p<.001, t=5.63, p<.001). Self-esteem and leadership scores increased significantly according to satisfaction degree, interpersonal relationship and year. Self-esteem was positively related to leadership (r=.50, p<.001). Conclusion: The result of this study may show the increase in self-esteem and leadership of nursing students relevant with their year of nursing. This finding suggests the importance of satisfaction and interpersonal relationships to increase self-esteem and leadership.
This study on the (employment) women's leadership competencies was tested with career paths development and job and organizational life satisfaction. The hypotheses and research model were set based on previous studies. To the total 250 samples(;employed and married women) were on survey about leadership competencies, career paths development, and job and organizational life satisfaction. And then, Frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, and structural equation modeling were carried out of the validity verification. Amos7.0 and Spss15.0 were used for statistical processing of results on surveys. One of the major results in this study, the (employment) women's leadership competencies in both job and organizational life satisfaction and career paths development had positive influence. In particular, it was found that job and organizational life satisfaction was operated as a parameter into career paths development.
Purpose - Since the early 1990s, it has been observed that the number and substance of studies on female leadership have been increasing. One of the reasons for this development may be concerned with the increasing number of female labor market participants as well as the greater opportunities for them to take higher positions in various organizations. In addition to this, the transition from mechanistic organizational structures that emphasize authority, control, and efficiency toward organic ones that focus on environmental adaptability, equality, and trust has also encouraged research on female leadership. The research tendency is based on the assumption that male and female leaders tend to exhibit different leadership styles according to their gender differences. Recent research has cast doubt on this assumption, by showing that the sociological gender roles of men and women are independent such that some female leaders show authoritative and control-oriented leadership, which were once considered to be male leadership styles. Research design, data, and methodology - This research attempts to carry out an empirical study on the gender-related leadership styles of female leaders and to examine their effect on group performance in the K business organization. This study also focuses on leader attributes such as trust, and it aims to discover whether these attributes should be regarded as independent or as moderating variables between leadership styles and performance. For these purposes, this study generated four hypotheses based on a review of the literature and it tested them using a survey. Female workers in the sales departments of the K Company, all of whom are women, were asked to provide answers to the presented questionnaires. This study hypothesizes that the type of gender roles played by women leaders will affect the job satisfaction and organizational commitment among the members of the sales group, and that the level of trust that is garnered by women leaders will also affect the types of gender roles that they play as well as employee job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Results - The results of this study show that both androgynous and masculine leadership styles are superior to the feminine leadership style in terms of employee job satisfaction and organizational commitment. However, contrary to our expectations, this study fails to show the superiority of the androgynous leadership style over the masculine leadership style. Moreover, there are no significant differences between these two leadership styles with regard to group performance. Conclusions - This study shows that it is important that different attributes of leaders, such as how trusted they are, be treated as moderating variables between leadership and performance rather than as independent variables. Finally, as this is the first attempt to view the role of the gender in a new perspective, the managerial implications of this study for leadership research, as well as its limitations, are presented. Suggestions for future related research are also proposed.

The objectives of this study were to analyze characteristics and role performances of rural leaders and to verify leadership difficulties in organizing rural society. The data were collected from 273 rural leaders selected by stratified random sampling, and the SPSSWIN 10 was used for analyzing data. The major findings of this study were as follows; 1) Leadership role performances of rural leaders were higher than the average scores of non-leaders. 2) Men's leadership role performances were higher than women's except in facilitator role. 3) Leaders in city/county level were more successful in doing leadership performances than community level leaders. 4) Rural leaders were seeking other leaders for discussing problems in leadership. 5) The most difficulties of rural leaders were unconcerns and disinterest of rural people for community development.
Objectives: This study was conducted to analyze the factors influencing the positive psychological capital, growth mindset, and self-leadership of dental hygienists in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions with regard to their retention intention. The findings would serve as basic data for improving the retention intention. Methods: The methods espoused for analysis comprised independent sample t-test and ANOVA for group comparisons, Pearson's correlation analysis for examining the correlation between variables, and multiple regression analysis for identifying factors affecting retention intention. Results: Positive psychological capital was higher among those under the age of 27 and employed in dental clinics. Growth mindset was higher among those with less than three years of work experience and those working in clinics. Self-leadership was higher among those aged 28-31, and retention intention was higher among those under the age of 27 and with less than three years of work experience (p<0.05). A correlation was observed between positive psychological capital and self-leadership (r=0.760), self-leadership and retention intention (r=0.514), positive psychological capital and retention intention (r=0.505), positive psychological capital and growth mindset (r=0.337), and growth mindset and self-leadership (r=0.245) (p<0.001). Factors influencing the intention to stay at work were self-leadership (β=0.309) and positive psychological capital (β=0.242) (p<0.05). Conclusions: In order to improve dental hygienists' retention intention, it is necessary to devise strategies for improving positive psychological capital and self-leadership.

The objective of this study was to investigate the developmental level of Rural Women Leaders Federation(RWLF) which is one of the major rural women`s association in Korea. The writers designed organization measurement tool based on the reviews on the related studies and gather data from 191 memberships of RWLF through the mail questionnaire and interviews. The major findings were as follows; First, the findings shows us this organization as transition period from identification stage to expanded growth stage in developmental stage of rural women's organizations. Second, this organization focus on share of members decision making and leadership style rather than organization`s vision, strategy or organization level. In other words, this organization focus on human relations aspect rather than internal aspect of organization system. Third, this organization has high level of social evaluation of the organization, even if it has low level of personal compensation or individua's social performance. In conclusion, as long-term view-point, it is needed to help them to promote their self-control of survival ability to improve organization's vision, strategy, differentiation for achieving organizational goals. And it also needed to prepare educational programs to increase Rural Women's leadership capability understanding of organizational characteristics and its operation abilities.
