재생 과정이 니켈-티타늄 호선의 물리적 성질과 표면 거칠기에 미치는 영향 (Effects of recycling on the mechanical properties and the surface topography of Nickel-Titanium alloy wires)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 재생된 니켈-티타늄 호전의 인장물성, 표면거칠기와 마찰력의 변화를 조사하여, 임상적으로 니켈티타늄 호선을 재생하여 사용하는 것이 타당한지를 알아보는 것이다. 수종의 니켈-티타늄 호선과 스테인레스 스틸호선을 처리전(T0: 대조군)과 인공타액에 4주간 처리한 군(T1), 그리고 인공타액 처리후 가압증기 멸균소독한 군(T2)으로 구분하여 인장실험과 주사전자현미경, 3D profilogram을 통한 표면거칠기의 변화와 마찰계수의 변화를 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 인장실험을 하여 최대인장강도, 연신율, 탄성계수를 관찰한 결과 모든 니켈-티타늄 호선에서 재생과정 후에 대조군과 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다(p<0.05). 단 스테인레스 스틸 호선은 재생과정 후에 최대인장강도, 연신율, 탄성계수에서 통계적으로 유의한 변화를 보였다(p<0.05). 2. 주사전자현미경을 통한 관찰에서 재생후에 Sentalloy를 제외한 호선에서 표면의 점부식(pitting)과 압흔(indentation)이 증가하였다. 3. 3D profilogram을 사용하여 관찰한 표면거칠기(Ra와 Rq)의 변화를 살펴보면, 재생과정 후에 Sentalloy를 제외한 NiTi, Optimalloy, 스테인레스 스틸 호선에서 통계적으로 유의하게 표면거칠기가 증가하였다(p<0.05). 4. 재생과정 후에 시행한 마찰력 실험에서는 최대운동마찰계수가 Sentalloy를 제외한 NiTi, Optimalloy, 스테인레스 스틸호선에서 통계적으로 유의하게 증가하였다(p<0.05). NiTi, Optimalloy의 표면거칠기와 마찰계수의 변화는 임상적으로 영향을 미칠 정도는 아니며, 결과적으로 니켈-티타늄 호선을 재생하면, 인장실험시의 물성과 표면거칠기, 마찰계수의 변화가 임상적으로 문제가 없을 것으로 생각된다.

전기장판 열선 결함에 의한 전기화재 원인분석 (Fire Cause Analysis on Electric Pad Due to Defect of Hot Wires)

  • This paper describes electrical fire on electric pad caused by defect of hot wires. We analyzed two type electric pad using by carbon type hot wire and magnetic shielded type hot wire. First, a carbon type hot wires electric pad is virtually impossible to connect hot wire as a method of electrical welding or soldering. In order to connect between hot wires, that has to splice carbon type material connector. If junction of hot wires was occurrence of poor connection on electric pad, it increase contact resistance on this junction point. With increasing contact resistance, junction of hot wires on electric pad generates local heating and finally leads to electrical fire. An electric pad using by a magnetic shielded type hot wire happened local heating on signal wire for sensing temperature-rise caused by applying current for magnetic shielded. With increasing local heating of signal wire, insulated coating of hot wire was melted. Finally the magnetic shielded type hot wire electric pad lead to electrical fire with breakdown between signal wire and hot wire. In this paper, we analyzed shape of damage in hot wire caused by electrical local heating and investigated fire cause on electric pad due to defect of hot wires.

초경량 금속 구조재 직조장치의 설계 및 제작 (Design and Construction of a Loom for Obtaining Ultra-Light Metal Structure)

  • 와이어직조 카고메(WBK)는 나선형으로 성형된 와이어를 6 방향에서 조립하여 제작된다. 지금까지의 WBK 는 수작업으로 조립되어 왔지만, 산업적 적용을 위해서는 조립공정의 자동화가 필수적이다. 또한, 유연한 와이어로 WBK를 제작할 경우 기하학적 형상을 유지할 수 없으므로 직조기와 같은 자동화 기계의 개발이 절실하다. 이번 연구에서는, 유연한 와이어를 이용하여 WBK 를 제작하는 직조기를 설계 및 제작하였다. 이 직조기는 상부 플레이트의 회전운동과 와이어를 삽입하는 장치의 병진운동으로 작동 된다. 그리고 이미 삽입된 와이어 간의 간섭을 방지하기 위한 빗살장치는 다층의 카고메망 사이에 위치된다. 또한 이 직조기는 나선형 와이어와 직선형 와이어로 구성된 semi-WBK 의 제작에도 이용될 수 있다.

스털링 기관용 재생기에 관한 기초 연구 (IV) - 철선을 축열재로 한 재생기의 전열 및 유동손실 특성 - (Basic Study on the Regenerator of Stirling Engine (IV) - Heat Transfer and Flow Friction Characteristic of the Regenerator with Steel Wire Matrix -)

  • The output of Stirling engine is influenced by the regenerator effectiveness. The regenerator effectiveness is influenced by heat transfer and flow friction loss of the regenerator matrix. In this paper, in order to provide a basic data for the design of regenerator matrix, characteristics of heat transfer and flow friction loss were investigated by a packed method of matrix in the oscillating flow as the same condition of operation in a Stirling engine. As matrices, 6 kinds of steel wires, 4 kinds of combined steel wires, 8 kinds of combined steel wires with screen meshes were used. The results are summarized as follows; Among 6 kinds of steel wires $({\phi}0.7\;mm,\;{\phi}0.9\;mm,\;{\phi}1.2\;mm,\;{\phi}\;1.6\;mm,\;{\phi}2.0\;mm,\;{\phi}2.7\;mm),$ the two steel wires $({\phi}0.7\;mm,\;{\phi}0.9\;mm)$ showed the highest in effectiveness. Among 4 kinds of combined steel wires $({\phi}l.6-{\phi}l.2\;mm,\;{\phi}1.2-{\phi}l.6\;mm,\;{\phi}0.9-{\phi}l.2\;mm,\;{\phi}l.2-{\phi}0.9\;mm),\;the\;{\phi}1.2-{\phi}0.9\;mm$ showed the highest in effectiveness. Among 8 kinds of combined steel wires with screen meshes $(150-{\phi}0.9\;mm,\;150-{\phi}l.2\;mm,\;{\phi}0.9\;mm-150,\;{\phi}1.2\;mm-150,\;150-{\phi}0.9\;mm-150,\;150-{\phi}1.2\;mm-150,\;150-{\phi}l.6\;mm-150,\;150-{\phi}2.0\;mm-150),\;the\;{\phi}l.2\;mm-150$ showed the highest in effectiveness.

A comparative study of metal artifacts from common metal orthodontic brackets in magnetic resonance imaging

  • Purpose: This study was performed to compare the metal artifacts from common metal orthodontic brackets in magnetic resonance imaging. Material and Methods: A dry mandible with 12 intact premolars was prepared, and was scanned ten times with various types of brackets: American, 3M, Dentaurum, and Masel orthodontic brackets were used, together with either stainless steel (SS) or nickel titanium (NiTi) wires. Subsequently, three different sequences of coronal and axial images were obtained: spin-echo $T_1$-weighted images, fast spin-echo $T_2$-weighted images, and fluid-attenuated inversion recovery images. In each sequence, the two sequential axial and coronal images with the largest signal-void area were selected. The largest diameters of the signal voids in the direction of the X-, Y-, and Z-axes were then measured twice. Finally, the mean linear values associated with different orthodontic brackets were analyzed using one-way analysis of variation, and the results were compared using the independent t-test to assess whether the use of SS or NiTi wires had a significant effect on the images. Results: Statistically significant differences were only observed along the Z-axis among the four different brands of orthodontic brackets with SS wires. A statistically significant difference was observed along all axes among the brackets with NiTi wires. A statistically significant difference was found only along the Z-axis between nickel-free and nickel-containing brackets. Conclusion: With respect to all axes, the 3M bracket was associated with smaller signal-void areas. Overall, the 3M and Dentaurum brackets with NiTi wires induced smaller artifacts along all axes than those with SS wires.

금속선이 삽입된 추진제 그레인의 Burn-back 해석 (Burn-back Analysis for Propellant Grains with Embedded Metal Wires)

  • 금속선이 삽입된 추진제 그레인은 높은 충전율을 유지하면서 연소속도를 증가시키기 위해 사용되어왔다. 금속선이 삽입된 추진제 그레인을 사용하는 추진기관의 성능설계를 위해서는 금속선의 위치, 개수, 배치각도, 금속선에서의 추진제 연소속도 증가비에 따른 burn-back 해석이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 금속선이 삽입된 추진제 그레인의 설계변경에 대응하여 신속하게 연소면적을 계산할 수 있는 수치적 방법이 개발되었다. 개발된 방법과 CAD 프로그램으로부터 도출된 연소면적 결과를 비교하였으며, 격자의 반경방향 크기가 줄어들수록 오차율이 줄어드는 것을 확인 했다. 금속선의 개수 및 위치변경에 따른 영향성 분석이 수행되었으며, 금속선의 개수가 증가하면 연소초기 및 말기 구간이 짧아지고 정상상태구간이 길어지는 것이 확인되었다. 금속선을 배치할 때, 서로 다른 반경에 금속선을 배치하는 경우에서 동일한 반경에 금속선을 배치하는 경우보다 연소초기 영역에서의 연소면적이 급증하고 연소말기에서 연소면적이 급감하는 것이 확인되었다.

  • Several companies in the world are marketing superconducting wires, films and bulks. High-Tc superconducting systems using these superconductors are begun to commercialize. For the successful realization or commercialization of superconducting system used Bi-2223 wires, the database on the degradation of critical current is essentially needed. In this paper, the electrical degradation of a Bi-2223 wires is measured. The electrical degradation rate was measured after the certain time of continuous current transportation. Specimens have the length of 190cm and double-pancakes coil have the length of 10m were tested. Tested Bi-2223 wires are commercialized product has 115A of Ic. When the transportation current was 95% of Ie, the degradation of Ic was appeared after 5 hours of transportation time. When the transferred current is enough larger than Ic, Bi-2223 double pancake is damaged seriously.

Resistance Increase Behavior of HTS Wire with Stabilizer Layer on Applied Over-currents

  • YBCO-coated conductors, called "second-generation wires," show a remarkably greater increase in the amount or speed of their resistance than BSCCO wires when a quench occurs. This is probably because of the specific resistance at their stabilizer layer, which also affects their voltage grade. YBCO coated conductors with copper as a stabilizer layer have a voltage grade of 1.5-2 V/cm, and those with stainless steel as a stabilizer layer have a voltage grade of about 0.5-0.6 V/cm. The voltage grade of YBCO coated conductors is important in selecting and applying superconducting wires to power instruments later. In this study, two kinds of YBCO-coated conductors with different stabilizer layers and one kind of BSCCO wire were prepared. Among them, based on the YBCO coated conductors that had a stainless steel stabilizer layer with a low voltage grade, five kinds of experimental samples for joining were prepared with the remaining two kinds of wires. Using the prepared samples, the current application properties and the resistance increase in the flux-flow and the quench states of the single wire and the joined wires were compared.

초전도 선재 조합에 따른 비대칭 무유도성 코일의 교류 손실 특성 연구 (A Study on AC loss Characteristics of Asymmetric non-inductive coils with Combination of Superconducting wires)

  • A hybrid superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) with fast switch had been previously suggested by our research group. To make a hybrid SFCL, different superconducting wires were wound two pancake coils so that two pancake coils had asymmetric configuration. The impedance of the asymmetric non-inductive coils are zero with applied normal current. However during the fault. currents were distributed unequally into the two pancake coils because each superconducting wires have different electrical characteristics. This unequal distribution of current causes effective magnetic flux which generate repulsive force. Fast switch was thus opened by the force applied to the aluminum plate which consists of SFCL. In this paper, the AC loss characteristics of the asymmetric non-inductive coils with combinations of superconducting wires were studied and calculated by related experiments and finite element method (FEM) simulation. From these results, we suggested the appropriate combination of two superconducting wires to be used for the asymmetric non-inductive coils.
