  • This paper presents the load balance of Mobile IP in wireless systems. Mobile IP can support wireless users with continuous network connections while changing locations. If a failure occurs in a mobility agent, the wireless users located in the coverage area of the fault mobility agent will lose their network connections. To tolerate the failure of mobility agents, this paper proposes the method of an efficient approach to reduce severe overload.

Unified Modeling Language based Analysis of Security Attacks in Wireless Sensor Networks: A Survey

  • Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are rapidly emerging because of their potential applications available in military and civilian environments. Due to unattended and hostile deployment environments, shared wireless links, and inherent resource constraints, providing high level security services is challenging in WSNs. In this paper, we revisit various security attack models and analyze them by using a well-known standard notation, Unified Modeling Language (UML). We provide a set of UML collaboration diagram and sequence diagrams of attack models witnessed in different network layers: physical, data/link, network, and transport. The proposed UML-based analysis not only can facilitate understanding of attack strategies, but can also provide a deep insight into designing/developing countermeasures in WSNs.

  • 무선랜을 확장한 휴대인터넷은 그 셀크기가 이동통신처럼 크고 중저속의 이동성을 지원하면서 이음매 없는 (seamless) 서비스를 제공할 수 있다. 휴대인터넷 국제 표준인 IEEE 802.16e에서는 단말과 기지국간 권한인증 및 키 교환을 위해서 PKMv2(Privacy Key Management) 프로토콜을 사용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 먼저, WMAN(Wireless Metropolitan Area Network) 표준인 IEEE 802.16 표준을 기반으로 이동성을 지원하는 IEEE 802.16e 표준과 TTA 휴대인터넷 표준을 바탕으로 휴대인터넷의 전체 보안구조를 파악하였다. 그리고 MSS(Mobile Subscribe Station)가 서비스를 제공받는 BS(Base Station)를 옮겨갈 경우 인증 및 키 교환을 위한 기존의 프로토콜을 분석하였다.

  • The temperature control of in-place concrete is the most important factor for an early age of curing concrete. Heat stress of mass concrete caused by the heat of hydration can induce the crack of concrete, and a frost damage from cold weather casting concrete results defect on compressive strength and degradation of durability. Therefore, success and failure of concrete work is dependant on the measurement and control of concrete temperature. In addition, the compressive strength assessment of in-place concrete obtained from the maturity calculated from the history of temperature make a reduction of construction cycle time, possible. For that purpose, wireless temperature measuring system was developed to control temperature and assess strength of concrete. And, it was possible to monitor the temperature of concrete over 1km apart from site office and to take a proper measure; mesh-type network was developed for wireless sensor. Furthermore, curing control system that contains the program capable to calculate the maturity of concrete from the history of temperature and to assess the compressive strength of concrete was established. In this study, organization and practical method of developed curing control system are presented; base on in-place application case.

Secure SLA Management Using Smart Contracts for SDN-Enabled WSN

  • The rapid evolution of the IoT has paved the way for new opportunities in smart city domains, including e-health, smart homes, and precision agriculture. However, this proliferation of services demands effective SLAs between customers and service providers, especially for critical services. Difficulties arise in maintaining the integrity of such agreements, especially in vulnerable wireless environments. This study proposes a novel SLA management model that uses an SDN-Enabled WSN consisting of wireless nodes to interact with smart contracts in a straightforward manner. The proposed model ensures the persistence of network metrics and SLA provisions through smart contracts, eliminating the need for intermediaries to audit payment and compensation procedures. The reliability and verifiability of the data prevents doubts from the contracting parties. To meet the high-performance requirements of the blockchain in the proposed model, low-cost algorithms have been developed for implementing blockchain technology in wireless sensor networks with low-energy and low-capacity nodes. Furthermore, a cryptographic signature control code is generated by wireless nodes using the in-memory private key and the dynamic random key from the smart contract at runtime to prevent tampering with data transmitted over the network. This control code enables the verification of end-to-end data signatures. The efficient generation of dynamic keys at runtime is ensured by the flexible and high-performance infrastructure of the SDN architecture.

무선 네트워크 환경에서 기기 관리 및 사용자 인증을 위한 안전한 통신 프레임워크 설계 (A Design of Secure Communication Framework for Device Management and User Authentication in Wireless Network Environment)

  • The recent technological developments of smart devices, multiple services are provided to enhance the users' quality of life including smart city, smart energy, smart car, smart healthcare, smart home, and so on. Academia and industries try to provide the users with convenient services upon seamless technological research and developments. Also, whenever and wherever a variety of services can be used without any limitation on the place and time upon connecting with different types of devices. However, security weaknesses due to integrations of multiple technological elements have been detected resulting in the leakage of user information, account hacking, and privacy leakage, threats to people's lives by device operation have been raised. In this paper, safer communication framework is suggested by device control and user authentication in the mobile network environment. After implementations of registration and authentication processes by users and devices, safe communication protocol is designed based on this. Also, renewal process is designed according to the safe control of the device. In the performance evaluation, safety was analyzed on the attack of protocol change weakness occurred in the existing system, service halt, data leakage, illegal operation control of message, and so on, which confirmed the enhanced speed approximately by 8% and 23% in the communication and verification parts, respectively, compared to the existing system.

  • 이동통신 분야에서 최근 눈에 띄는 트랜드는 무선 통신과 컴퓨터 네트워크 기술 간의 통합이이며, WAP 디바이스들이 그 대표적인 예라고 할 수 있다. 컴퓨터 시스템 메니저들은 종종 긴급히 수정해야할 시스템 결함을 맞곤 하지만, 보통 원격으로 시스템을 관리할 수 있는 컴퓨터에 접속하지 못하는 경우가 많다. 이런 문제를 해결하기 위해, 이 논문에서는 WAP 인터페이스를 제공하는 시스템 관리 툴을 설계하고 아키텍쳐에 관해 설명하려고 한다.

A Forward & Backward Secure Key Management in Wireless Sensor Networks for PCS/SCADA

  • Process Control Systems (PCSs) or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems have recently been added to the already wide collection of wireless sensor networks applications. The PCS/SCADA environment is somewhat more amenable to the use of heavy cryptographic mechanisms such as public key cryptography than other sensor application environments. The sensor nodes in the environment, however, are still open to devastating attacks such as node capture, which makes designing a secure key management challenging. In this paper, a key management scheme is proposed to defeat node capture attack by offering both forward and backward secrecies. Our scheme overcomes the pitfalls which Nilsson et al.'s scheme suffers from, and is not more expensive than their scheme.

웹 인터페이스를 사용하는 SNMP 기반의 무선 센서 네트워크 통합 관리 시스템 (An SNMP-Based Integrated Management System with Web Interface for Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 무선 센서 네트워크들을 위한 통합된 관리 시스템을 제안한다. 이질적인 센서 네트워크들의 각 싱크 노드는 게이트웨이에 연결된다. 게이트웨이는 다양한 하드웨어 플랫폼과 네트워킹 모델들을 지원함으로써 여러 네트워크들로부터 관리 정보를 수집하여 MIB(Management Information Base)에 저장한다. 관리 시스템은 SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol)를 이용하여 게이트웨이의 MIB으로부터 관리 정보를 얻고 이를 분석한다. 사용자는 인터넷을 사용할 수 있는 곳이라면 어디서든지 웹을 통하여 관리 시스템에 접속하고 센서 노드들과 네트워크들을 관리할 수 있다. 본 논문에서 우리는 제안하는 관리 시스템을 직접 구현하여 실용성을 보인다.

무선 애드-혹 네트워크를 위한 효율적인 서비스 검색 기법 (Service Discovery Scheme for Wireless Ad-hoc Networks)

  • 효율적인 서비스 검색 기법은 무선 애드-혹 네트워크의 유용성을 위해 중요한 특성이다. 무선 애드-혹 네트워크는 어떤 기존의 네트워크 하부구조 또는 중앙 관리 체계의 도움 없이 무선 이동 노드들만으로 구성되는 임시 네트워크이다. 본 논문에서는 무선 애드-혹 네트워크를 위해 중복을 허용하는 다중 경로 라우팅 프로토콜을 사용하는 효율적인 서비스 검색 기법을 제안한다. 이 기법은 다중 경로 소스 라우팅 프로토콜의 장점뿐만 아니라 크로스-레이서 서비스 검색의 장점 역시 갖는다. 시뮬레이션을 통해서 이 기법이 각 노드에서 다중 라우팅 경로를 유지함으로써 경로 단절시 보다 빠른 라우팅 복구가 가능하며, 다중 경로의 수를 제한하고 링크/노드 중복을 허용하는 다중 경로를 유지하도록 함으로써 라우팅 유지 오버헤드를 줄인다는 것을 보인다.
