  • Unprecedented attention is being given to Smart Grid, Micro Grid and Internet of Things (IoT) in the Republic of Korea recently but such systems' effect is not well experienced by the market since they require additional and costly reforms for the existing household electrical system where adaptive communication platforms are needed. As such platforms, both wireless and wire communication technologies are being considered at the moment. Usually, they include WiFi, Zigbee technologies and the latter, LAN technology. However, communication speed decline due to signal attenuation and interference during wireless communications are considered to be the major problem and the extra works involving time and costs for the LAN system construction can be another demerit. Therefore, in this paper, we have introduced a Power Line Communication-based Smart Outlet System Expandable at Home to complement these disadvantages. Proposed IoT system involves Power Line Communication (PLC) technology which is essential to constructing a Smart Grid.

  • NFC (Near Field Communication) was developed by SONY, NXP in 2002 and in 2003 respectively. It is one type of standard shore-range wireless communication system which operates in 13.56 MHz frequency band, within 10 cm distance and enables data transfer between devices with maximum rate of 424kbps. Various studies have been done on NFC technology and many handset manufacturers such as Apple, Google, Samsung Electronics Co., are trying to expand their market for new mobile services using this technology. This paper analyses the NFC standard technology, its trends and prospects in chapter II, which is followed by NFC systems and communication method in chapter III, and eventually NFC trends and future views is explained in chapter IV.

  • A output strength is limited according to the frequency used in order to protect other wireless stations from interference caused by radio waves emitted from the low power wireless installations. For receivers, unwanted spurious emission is regulated, and regulations in Korea define that additional spurious emission for receivers in the low power wireless installations under 1GHz should be -54dBm, but no regulations have been established yet for low power wireless installations over 1GHz. It is presently required to set domestic standards for devices over 1GHz on account of the expansion of the communication market and its service.

  • Development of policy incentives and policy direction in the innovation economy is always important. Innovations policy have characterized industrial dynamics, leading to a transformation of the market structure of the specific industry. The paper explores the development of industry convergence for understanding the change of the wireless industry in Daejeon. Although its initial focus is R&D center, The business model has become the research and development of external demand than its own product research and development. For regional innovation, the wireless industry policy should be provided with their own product development pattern.

  • In recent times, there is an increasing interest in wireless charge of smartphones and devices, and many companies are developing wireless charges. The range of application of wireless charge would be expanded to almost all electronics, including not only mobile devices, but also notebook computers and vacuum cleaners. On-line electric vehicles are to be launched in the market this year in a massive scale. As such wireless charge-related markets are inexhaustible. Wireless charge is included in the world's top 10 promising technologies, and its rapid growth is expected to have annual growth by more than 100%. However, there's a need to establish a safe environment, by analyzing security threats to technical limitations and harmfulness to human body, and arrange institutional compliments. The development of communication method for a variety of wireless charging are delivering comfortable and safe information. This paper aims to examine the factors to threaten electric vehicle, which are usually intruded through network system and analyzes security threats to and security requirements for magnetic resonance mode-based wireless charge in mobile devices, and suggests security requirements.

  • The beginning of a new railroad history is progressing every year. Seoul's Sillim Line is a new transportation system based on communication technology. Sillim Line is the nation's first wireless communication-based unmanned train control system based on KTCS-M, the national standard. The use of wireless communication technology in the rail transportation system suggests the possibility of exporting to the global rail market. This is the result of the government's development and implementation of various support policies for nurturing the domestic railway industry and for export. In this paper, the status of support for localization of railroad industry technology implemented by the state is reviewed, and the process by which railroad parts are replaced by localized parts is analyzed out of dependence on foreign countries. A study was conducted on the development of a technical support platform to solve the technical difficulties of the industry that occurred in this process.

  • Recently, with the economy and the information communication technology developed, the smartphone market grows continuously. The market outlook on the wireless rechargeable technology grows rapidly so that the market size is increased about six times bigger than that of the last year, and it will grow about 18 billion dollars in 2014. Because of that, as the interest on this area out focused, many kinds of technology and new product are being exploited in this field. Participants of this study were 76 mobile users in Gyeongnam and Jeonbuk province in accordance with convenience sampling. Most of the respondents about 88 percent, the wireless charger may be answered to be able to explain what it is. Also, about 70 percent of the respondents, is time to replace the future of smart phone, answered by selecting a product in consideration of the wireless charging. Based on these findings, several theoretical and practical implications were suggested.

  • Inconveniences which might arise in transmitting measured biological data based on cable protocols generally are recognized critical points in tele-monitoring environment and also restrict the mobility of the user. a. Especially, activity monitoring which is importantly recognized as a core parameter in ubiquitous healthcare arena and weight management, pervasive and wireless measuring technology is most needed. In this paper, we would like to suggest lower power, miniaturized communication system in order to solve the above problems. The suggested system is powered by small coin-size battery. Also, The suggested system is compared with a blue-tooth module which is generally available in the commercial market. Even though, the suggested system didn't have higher transmission rate, its low power consumption make the suggested system would be feasible in ubiquitous monitoring of biological signals in ubiquitous healthcare arena.
