  • The smart space is composed of the wire and/or wireless network, multi-sensor-based environment, and many various controllers. For the smart space, this paper presents a new design method of multirate digital decentralized controller using the digital redesign technique. In specific, the proposed method is based on the delta-operator and the multirate sampling and takes the form of the LMIs. To shows the feasibility of the suggested method, the computer simulations for HVAC system are provided.

  • In this paper a new framework is presented for developing the personal robot being used in home environments. We mainly focus on the system engineering technology such as the modularization and standardization. Effective ways for interfacing among modules are addressed regarding compatibility in hardware and software, and as a result a personal robot platform named DHR I is built. The robot is composed of five modules such as brain, mobile, sensor, vision, and user interface modules.   • To develop the Exhaust Maniverter(Manifold and converter) it needs to consider flow characteristics related to durability and performance of the catalyst, manufacturability, etc. This paper presents the analysis results regarding to flow characteristics such as flow uniformity, tangential speed, O2 sensor sensitivity and CHT (conjugate heat transfer) for the LCF(Low Cycle Fatigue) for gasoline 2.0 liter engine. The results are satisfactorily corresponded to the general criteria. Also skin temperature and pressure drop wire measured at the Engine Bench. These results can be useful for the design guide for Exhaust Maniverter.

  • This study was how to control the mass flow controller in gas supplying system. The flow controller consists of piezoelectric material and sensor with heating wire. It is difficult to obtain accurate model, because MFC was composed of many parts, and the relationship between input and output of controller is nonlinear. The model for control was obtained by time constant and DC gain Based on this model, PID controller was applied to flow controller using DSP board. Also, the results were compared to controller using system identification.

  • In the recent years, as the research and the development of micro and precision machinery become active, the interest of micro actuators using SMA(Shape Memory Alloy) has been increased. The dynamic characteristic analysis of SMA is necessary for actuator application and many common researches report the material characteristics of SMA sufficiently. However, the research on dynamic characteristics is very deficient. In this paper, the helical spring are fabricated with NiTi SMA wire of high resistivity. The force, response speed, temperature, and displacement are measured by digital force gauge, infrared thermometer, and laser displacement sensor so that the dynamic characteristics of this SMA is analyzed. Also, bidirectional actuator was fabricated and experimented fir its performance.

  • The effect of free stream tubulence on the coherent structure in the near wake of a circular cylinder was investigated by a conditional sampling technique. The measurements were made from C.T.A. with hot wire I-probe and a Split-film sensor. Contours of phase-averaged velocity and vorticities were presented and discussed. It was found that the value of the vortex strength increased with increasing free stream turbulence which can enhance the roll-up of the shear layer.

  • Axis of rotation error on rotary system are significant; such as the spindle radial error motion of a aligner, wire bonder and inspector machine which results in the poor state of manufactured goods. In this paper, the simple stage which consists of one PZT actuator and rotary encoder, is analyzed and measured by high resolution capacitance type displacement sensor. As the result of experiment, the paper discusses several issues that must be considered when designing rotary stage driven by PZT.

  • This paper proposed that a small type conductor surface open-loop antenna model for the moisture sensor and its operating characteristics were analysed numerically by using the moment methods. The numerical analysis results from this antenna model showed that this antenna could match the input impedance to $50[{\Omega}]$ by changing parameters of the antenna in the frequency range from 300[MHz] to 500[MHz]. This model also showed that the open-loop radius. height and wire width give a tremendous influence on the antenna resonance variation. while the loaded inductance values affects the variation or the input impedance at the resonance frequencies.
