WiBro technology provide mobile devices with a transmission speed of more than 1 Mbps even under the condition of high mobility (120 km/h). In a building, however, there is more demand for high bandwidth for various activities, and WiBro services may not be available. In order to guaranteeing a seamless service continuity and high transmission capability for mobile users within a specific establishment that has deployed WiBro network, we should secure an internetworking platform for WiBro and WiFi networks. This paper introduces WiMax forum and 3GPP standards, proposes WiBro-WiFi Interworking (WWI) architecture, its implementation details, and finally verifies validity of the proposal by using OPNet simulations.

LTE and Wi-Fi networks provide wireless communication services to passengers in subway where the number of network access fluctuates according to passenger movement. While the number of network access increase, LTE can provide stable communication service but Wi-Fi suffers temporal access delay to network. This paper analyzes the increase in access delay of Wi-Fi network according to increasing user in subway section by making mathematical modeling of Wi-Fi network and simulation study. The access delay characteristics of Wi-Fi network is measured along an subway line and the results are compared to the theoretical study. These results can be applied to the connection method to build an efficient network structure between LTE and Wi-Fi interworking network and the future introduction of LTE-R.
Recently, the metropolitan area network (MAN) has attracted much attention in telecommunication research and has emerged as one of the most important research topics in the community. Several standards representing the first step for developing metropolitan networks have been published; IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX) has taken a relevant role in reaching the goal of realizing a full-service network all over a urban and suburban area. At the same time, the wireless local area networks (WLAN) have been widely used for in-home or short range communications, mainly basing on the IEEE 802.11 (WiFi) standard. A consequence is the increasing interest in interworking technology, that allows an interconnection between different standards by maintaining certain properties, mainly in terms of quality of service (QoS). One of the major issues is to design bridging devices capable of transparently interconnect different wireless technologies. In this paper, we propose two interconnection bridging solutions between WiMAX and WiFi links; the first is more based on the concept of maintaining a certain end-to-end QoS level independently from the wireless technologies used. The second method is more devoted to the reduction of the implementation complexity at the cost of no QoS assurance. The performance of the two methods are compared by resorting to computer simulations showing the advantages of each one technique.
Recently, as wired and wireless communication services have rapidly developed and multimodal mobile devices which have various characteristics have widely spread, the need for new convergence services increases. The growing population of VoIP technologies and the high communication expense yield that the market of IP based telephony such as WiFi phone and IP phone is substituted for one of the conventional PSTN telephony. With the help of this trend, the wireline network operators desire to find a market in mobile networks. Therefore, they focus on Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) service as one of the key factors to accomplish this goal. FMC services are able to provide the mobility of voice services between circuit switched and packet switched networks. IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) based Voice Call Continuity (VCC) is one of the schemes to embody FMC services. As Application Server (AS) which has this VCC function provides seamless handover of services between heterogeneous networks, FMC subscribers can communicate seamlessly with others m WiFi domain and COMA domain using WiFi-COMA dual phone. Most of enterprises have already introduced IP network infrastructure and IP-PBX (Private Branch eXchange) for telephony. However, the problems of high communication cost and work inefficiency due to frequent outside jobs or business trips have remained. In order to solve these problems, demands for enterprise FMC services increase. In this paper, we introduce a new IP-PBX based VCC model that can provide seamless handover of voice services between WiFi and COMA networks for enterprise users and we investigate some interworking and security issues between Soft Switch (SSW) and IMS, or between IMSs. In addition, we introduce a new service that can provide the continuity of voice sessions as well as video sessions using Multimedia Session Continuity (MMSC) technology which has evolved from VCC. This service is expected to be one of the next-generation personalized services based on user's context.

Recently, with the development of mobile communication technologies such as 5G, interest in oscilloscope technology based on high bandwidth and user-friendly UI is increasing. In this paper, we proposed a Python-based UI(user interface) SW for a high-bandwidth digital oscilloscope in connection with the study of a 13GHz band digital oscilloscope system. The proposed UI SW is designed not only to be executed integrally with the oscilloscope, but also to be run on a separate PC or laptop cooperating with the instrument through WiFi communication. Functions of the UI SW consists of displaying and analyzing signal data, storing signal data in an external storage device, generating test signal data, and reconfiguring the toolbar. Finally, we have shown that the proposed digital oscilloscope system operates normally by interworking test with the signal generator.
Accidents are steadily occurring due to machine defects and carelessness during LNG storage operations. In previous studies, an environmental sensor module capable of measuring pressure, temperature, gas concentration, and flow to detect danger in advance was developed and the response speed according to the amount of leaked gas was measured. This paper proposes the development of a wired and wireless communication module that transmits data measured by the environmental sensor module to embedded devices connected to wired and wireless networks of SPI, UART, and LTE. First, a data communication module capable of interworking with an environmental sensor is designed. Design a protocol between devices in the Local Control Part and wired and wireless protocols in the Local Control Part and Remote Control Part. Ethernet, WiFi, and LTE communication modules were designed, and UART and SPI channels that can be linked with embedded controllers were designed. As a result, it was confirmed through a UI (User Interface) that each embedded device transmits data measured by the environmental sensor module while simultaneously communicating on a wired and wireless basis.
Wireless network using dynamic IP and mobile IP technology provides the user with convenience of access and movement. However, this causes the attacker who disguises normal user(pretending to be a regular user) to have more opportunity in regard to access and acquisition of information. This paper help the network administrator and the service provider quickly to recognize the attacker's intention to access network and service. Therefore network administrator and service provider can specify and respond the location of the attacker appropriately. To achieve above, we define an entity (W_L_M) that manages user information of WiFi and LTE network, and propose messages and procedures for attacker's location identification and alarm. The performance evaluation of this paper is based on qualitative analysis. By using the proposed method, some cost (message creation, processing and transmission) occurred but it was analyzed to be less than the total network operation cost. The proposal of this paper is a management method that utilizes existing network information and structure. This method can be used as a reference material to enhance security.
The decline in the price of IT devices and the development of the Internet have created a new field called Internet of Things (IoT). IoT, which creates new services by connecting all the objects that are in everyday life to the Internet, is pioneering new forms of business that have not been seen before in combination with Big Data. The prospect of IoT can be said to be unlimited in its utilization. In addition, studies of standardization organizations for smooth connection of these IoT devices are also active. However, there is a part of this study that we overlook. In order to control IoT equipment or acquire information, it is necessary to separately develop interworking issues (IP address, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, etc.) and related application software or apps. In order to solve these problems, existing research methods have been conducted on augmented reality using GPS or markers. However, there is a disadvantage in that a separate marker is required and the marker is recognized only in the vicinity. In addition, in the case of a study using a GPS address using a 2D-based camera, it was difficult to implement an active interface because the distance to the target device could not be recognized. In this study, we use 3D Depth recognition camera to be installed on smartphone and calculate the space coordinates automatically by linking the distance measurement and the sensor information of the mobile phone without a separate marker. Coordination inquiry finds equipment of IoT and enables information acquisition and control of corresponding IoT equipment. Therefore, from the user's point of view, it is possible to reduce the burden on the problem of interworking of the IoT equipment and the installation of the app. Furthermore, if this technology is used in the field of public services and smart glasses, it will reduce duplication of investment in software development and increase in public services.
