  • Structural health monitoring to determine structural conditions at an early stage and to efficiently manage the energy requirements of buildings using systems that collects relevant data, is under active investigation. Structural monitoring requires cutting-edge technology in which construction, sensing, and ICT technologies are combined. However, the scope of application is limited because expensive sensors and specialized technical skills are often required. In this study, a Raspberry Pi module, one of the most widely used single board computers, a Lora module that is capable of long-distance communication at low power, and a high-performance accelerometer are used to construct a wireless edge computing system that can monitor building response over an extended time period. In addition, the Raspberry Pi module utilizes an edge computing algorithm, and only meaningful data is obtained from the vast amount of acceleration data acquired in real-time. The raw data acquired using Wi-Fi communication are compared to the Laura data to evaluate the accuracy of the data obtained using the system.

  • In the IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN environment, the common Access Point (AP) selection of the existing terminal is based on signal strength. However, the signal strength-based AP selection method does not ensure an optimal data rate. Recently, several AP selection methods to solve this problem have been suggested. However, when we select AP, these have a latency problem and don't consider dense environments of AP. In this paper, we confirm the problem of the conventional AP selection about the signal strength and the throughput through the actual measurement, and propose algorithm that selects AP by scoring link speed and wireless round trip time to compensate the problem. Furthermore, the proposed AP selection algorithm through the actual experiment proves the improved performance as compared with the existing methods.

  • In the coming future, anyone using the Internet will have more than one NFT. Unlike FT, NFT can specify the owner, and tracking management is easier than FT. Even in the 2022 survey, WPA2 is the most widely used wireless protocol worldwide to date. As it is a protocol that came out in 2006, it is a protocol with various vulnerabilities at this time. In order to use WPA2-EAP or WPA3 (2018), which were released to compensate for the vulnerabilities of WPA2, additional equipment upgrades are required for STA (station) and AP (access point, router), which are connected devices. The use of expensive router equipment solves the security part, but it is economically inefficient to be introduced in Small Office Home Office (SOHO). This paper uses NFT as a means of authentication and uses the existing WPA2 as it is without equipment upgrade, defend crack tools of WPA2 that have been widely used so far and compared to the existing WPA2, it was shown that it was not difficult to actually use them in SOHO.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the experience of teachers who apply Smart-technology in elementary school STEAM class and the reasons, difficulties when applying the technology and required support. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with six elementary school teachers with specialized knowledge in STEAM education who have experienced STEAM lessons several times before. The research findings are as follows: First, research participants utilized a variety of Smart-technology in STEAM class, most of which were experiential or interactive technology. Among the STEAM learning criteria, the Smart-technology in 'Creative Design' course was most often applied. Second, they adopted Smart Technology in STEAM class to encourage students to feel interested, actively participate in the class, enjoy indirect experience, and nurture interest in state-of-the-art technology. They used it to prepare for future societies and organize classes that are suitable for STEAM learning criteria. They also used Smart-technology because it was easy to use. Third, they found it difficult to find, secure, and use suitable Smart-technology when applying Smart-technology in the STEAM class. They also had trouble restructuring the curriculum. In addition, there were difficulties in using Smart-technology in the class such as lack of class hours, increased level of activity, insufficient physical environment and unexpected malfunction of Smart-technology, thus interrupted the class. After the class, it was hard to manage Smart-technology and also, there were difficulties in assessment, record, and negative awareness of surrounding people. Fourth, they mentioned that's suggesting education guidelines, develop, and distribute educational materials are required to enable 'Creative Design,' reduce educational content, provide training, secure Smart-technology equipment and provide Wi-Fi, support teacher's club and communities and create an atmosphere to emotionally support teachers in order to activate using Smart-technology in STEAM class.

  • Wide spread deployment of infrastructure WLANs has made Wi Fi an integral part of today's Internet access technology. Despite its crucial role in affecting end to end performance, past research has focused on MAC protocol enhancement, analysis and simulation based performance evaluation without sufficient consideration for modeling inaccuracies stemming from inter layer dependencies, including physical layer diversity, that significantly impact performance. We take a fresh look at IEEE 802.11 WLANs, and using experiment, simulation, and analysis demonstrate its surprisingly agile performance traits. Contention based MAC throughput degrades gracefully under congested conditions, enabled by physical layer channel diversity that reduces the effective level of MAC contention. In contrast, fairness and jitter significantly degrade at a critical offered load. This duality obviates the need for link layer flow control for throughput improvement but necessitates traffic control for fairness and QoS. We use experimentation and simulation in a complementary fashion, pointing out performance characteristics where they agree and differ.

  • The existing mobility management schemes do not fully support the next generation network, which is composed of IP-based core network and various access networks. Currently, ETRI has been developing the AIMS (Access Independent Mobility Service) system which satisfies the ITU-T requirements of mobility management in the next generation network. The AIMS system is designed to provide a mobile host with a fast and reliable mobility service among heterogeneous access networks. Recently, many user devices have multiple communication interfaces, e.g., 3G and WLAN, and thus they can make two or more network connections at the same time. In this paper, we design a scheme of flow mobility, i.e., the movement of selected data flows from one access technology to another, to be applied in the AIMS system, and verify the proposed scheme through the NS-3 simulation study. From the simulation results, we can know that the proposed flow mobility scheme can utilize the network resource efficiently in the heterogeneous mobile networks.

  • In the era of the 4th industrial revolution symbolized by the Internet of Things, big data and artificial intelligence, various embedded devices are increasing exponentially. These devices have communication functions despite their low specifications, so the possibility of personal information leakage is increasing, and security threats are also increasing. Embedded devices can have security issues at most levels, from hardware to services over the network. In addition, it is difficult to apply general security techniques because it has characteristics of resource constraints such as low specifications and low power, and the related technology has not been standardized. In this study, we present vulnerabilities and possible problems and considerations in applying SDN to embedded devices in consideration of structural characteristics and real-world discovered cases. This study presents vulnerabilities and possible problems and considerations when applying SDN to embedded devices. From a hardware perspective, we consider the problems of Wi-Fi chips and Bluetooth, the problems of open flow implementation, SDN controllers, and examples of structural properties. SDN separates the data plane and the control plane, and provides a standardized interface between the two, enabling efficient communication control. It can respond to the security limitations of existing network technologies that are difficult to respond to rapid changes.

  • The effect of activation and electroless nickel plating conditions on contact properties were investigated for selective electroless nickel plating of Si farers in order to obtain an optimum condition of contact hole filling. According to RCA prosess, p-type si 1 icon (100) surface was cleaned out and activated. The effects of temperture, DMAB concentration, time, and stirring iwere investigated for activation of p-type Si(100) surface. The optimal activation condition obtained was 0.5M HF, 1mM PdCl$_2$, 2mM EDTA, 7$0^{\circ}C$, 90sec under ultrasonic vibration. In electroless nickel plating, the effect of temperature, DMAB concentration, pH, and plating ti me were studied. The optimal plating condition found was 0. 10M NiS0$_4$.$H_2O$, 0.lIM Citrate, pH 6.8, 6$0^{\circ}C$, 30 minutes. The contact resistence of fi]ms wascomparatively low. It took 30 minutes to obtain 1$\mu$m thick film with 8$\mu$M DMAB concentration. The film surface roughness was improved with increasing temperature and decreasing pH of the plating solution. The best quality of the film was obtained with the condition of temperature 6$0^{\circ}C$ and pH 6.8. The micro-victors hardness of film was about 600Hv and was decreased wi th increasing particle size of plating layer.

  • Purpose: We studied the relationship between subjective and objective deviating angle. Methods: Those who were diagnosed with strabismus among the patients who had no systemic diseases that fifty-one subjects (Male; 21, Female; 30) were measured between seven to sixty three years, evaluated to alternate cover test after AR/K (Canon RK-FI, Japan) and retinoscope measured refractive errors. Objective deviating angle was measured using prism bar; and subjective and objective deviating angles were measured and compared using the synoptophore. Results: For the correlation between subjective and objective deviating angles. The differences were $2.6{\pm}2.5{\Delta}$, between subjective deviating angle measured using synoptophore and objective deviating angles measured using synoptophore were $0.7{\pm}1.4{\Delta}$, the average with each other were $1.7{\pm}1.8{\Delta}$, with all the differences highly significant. Conclusions: We thought not only reduced angle of deviating errors and identified the significance in the correlation between subjective and objective deviating angles but also considered to be useful in determining deviating angle of patient with strabismus.
