응급구조학과 학생의 도덕지능과 내부공익신고 의도와의 관계 (A study on the moral intelligence and whistleblowing intent)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate ethical ability among paramedic students by analyzing their moral intelligence and whistle-blowing intention. Methods: Data from 117 paramedic students were collected from September 7 - 14, 2015. The questionnaire measured the level of moral intelligence (7 components, 41 items) and whistle-blowing intention (8 items) of paramedic students. Results: The mean score of moral intelligence was 3.07 (${\pm}0.28$) and that of whistle-blowing intention was 3.13 (${\pm}0.42$). Moral intelligence and whistle-blowing intention showed a significantly positive correlation with each other (r = .328, p <.001). Conclusion: It is desirable to introduce moral education contents and methods for paramedic students in order to enhance their moral intelligence and whistle-blowing intention.

사육 흰고래(Delphinapterus leucas)의 휘슬음 특징 (Whistle Characteristics of Captive Beluga Whale Delphinapterus leucas)

  • The whistle sounds of three Beluga whales Delphinapterus leucas were recorded four times, for an hour each time, in 2016 and analyzed to obtain the most stable and basic acoustic characteristics of the whales in captivity. This study investigated the whistle characteristics of beluga whales and the relationship between whistle sounds and behavior to understand the meaning of the whistle sounds. The whistles were classified into six types (flat, ascending, descending, hump, dip, and wavy type) by their frequency contour and shape. The most common type was the ascending type, accounting for>30% of total whistles. The fundamental frequency of whistles was 2.0-8.6 kHz. Four types of behavior were related with the sounds of beluga whales (aggressive, submissive, affiliative, sexual behavior). A flat whistle was the most recorded in the group and an aggressive act was observed in association with the flat whistle. A dip whistle were recorded more when submissive acts were observed.

사회복지전공 대학생들의 시험부정 묵인자에 대한 평가가 사회복지조직의 비리 묵인자에 대한 평가에 미치는 영향 :내부고발 역기능에 대한 염려와 내부고발 보호장치 필요성의 이중매개효과검증을 중심으로 (Effect of Social Work Students' Evaluation toward Connivers of Exam-Cheating on their Evaluation toward Connivers of Corruptions in Social Welfare Organizations :Focusing on the Mediating effects of Both Perceptions of Their Concern of Dysfunction of Whistle-Blowing and of Necessity of Protection Arrangement for Whistle-Blowers)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 사회복지를 전공하는 학생들이 시험부정행위를 묵인하는 학우에 대한 평가가, 사회복지조직의 비리 묵인자에 대한 평가에 미칠 수 있는 직접효과와, 내부고발의 역기능에 대한 염려와 내부고발자를 위한 보호장치 필요성에 대한 인식이 각각 미칠 수 있는 이중매개효과를 밝히는 것이다. 분석을 통해서 밝혀진 사실들은 다음과 같다. 첫째, '시험부정 묵인자'에 대한 평가는 사회복지 조직의 비리 묵인자에 대한 평가에 직접적으로 유의한 영향($.211^{***}$)을 미쳤다. 둘째, 시험부정 묵인자에 대한 호감도가 높을수록 내부고발 역기능에 대한 염려도 증가($.098^{***}$)하였고, 내부고발자를 위한 보호장치의 필요성($-.191^{^{\prime}***}$)은 감소하였다. 그리고 내부고발 역기능에 대해서 염려를 많이 할수록, 사회복지조직 비리 묵인자에 대한 호감도가 증가하였고($.245^{***}$), 내부고발자를 위한 보호장치의 필요성을 많이 인식할 수록, 내부고발자에 대한 호감도는 감소($-.122^{***}$)하는 것으로 드러났다. 셋째, 내부고발자를 위한 보호장치 필요성(.158; 하한값 .133, 상한값 .217)과 내부고발 역기능에 대한 염려(.074; 하한값 .0433, 상한값 .122)는 각각 유의한 매개효과를 미치는 것이 확인되어 이중매개(double mediators)의 효과가 입증되었다. 밝혀진 주요 내용들을 토대로, 사회복지 정책적, 실천적 함의를 모색하기 위해서 논의하고 제언하였다.

공익제보자들이 경험하는 이상과 현실의 차이: 현상학적 분석 (Analysis of the difference between ideal and reality that whistle-blowing people experience: focus on phenomenological method)

  • 본 연구의 주요 목적은 공익제보 과정에서 공익제보자들이 경험하는 동기, 기대, 결과, 태도의 측면을 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 전국에서 공식적으로 공익제보자로 등록되어 있는 공익제보자 14명을 대상으로 얻은 인터뷰 자료를 현상학적 접근에 기초해서 분석하였다. 그 결과 동기적 측면에는 직업정신과 도덕적 가치 특성이 두드러진 것으로 나타났고, 이들이 기대하는 것은 공익의 증가와 공적 지지였다. 그러나 결과적으로 돌아오는 것은 개인의 피해 경험과 사회적 관계 파괴, 조직적 차별 처우 등의 부정적인 결과가 압도적으로 많았으며, 일부 긍정적인 사회변화의 경험이 포함되어 있었다. 즉, 공익제보자들이 기대한 것과 현실간의 괴리는 상당히 큰 것으로 나타났다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 이와 같은 상황에 다시 처하게 되는 경우 공익제보에 대한 태도를 분석했을 때, 제보의지가 매우 높게 나타났다. 또한, 공익제보에 따른 부정적 결과에는 문화적 특성 중 수직적 집합주의의 영향력이 큰 것으로 나타났고, 그 개선을 위한 제도적인 장치들이 제시되었다.

Numerical simulation of jet flow impinging on a shielded Hartmann whistle

  • The present study numerically investigates the effect of shield on the flow characteristics of Hartmann whistle. The flow characteristics of un-shielded Hartmann whistle are compared with whistles of different shield heights 15 mm, 17 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm and 30 mm. The comparison of Mach number contours and transient velocity vectors of shielded Hartmann whistles with un-shielded ones for the same conditions reveal that the presence of shield causes the exiting jet to stick to the wall of the shield without causing spill-over around the cavity inlet, thus sustaining the shock oscillation as seen in the unshielded Hartmann whistle, which has intense flow/shock oscillation and spill-over around the cavity mouth. The velocity vectors indicate jet regurgitance in shielded whistles showing inflow and outflow phases like un-shielded ones with different regurgitant phases. The sinusoidal variation of mass flow rate at the cavity inlet in un-shielded Hartmann whistle indicates jet regurgitance as the primary operating mode with large flow diversion around the cavity mouth whereas the non-sinusoidal behavior in shielded ones represent that the jet regurgitance is not the dominant operating mode. Thus, this paper sufficiently demonstrates the effect of shield in modifying the flow/shock oscillations in the vicinity of the cavity mouth.

간호사의 내부고발 인식유형에 관한 연구 (The Types of Nurses Perception of Whistle-Blowing;Q-Methodology)

  • Purpose: This study was to define structural subjectivity pattern of whistle-blowing of hospital nurses. Method: This study was conducted using Q-methodology in order to classify the types of perception to an whistle-blowing from the inside of the incumbent hospital nurses. Nineteen members, including hospital nurses, professors and students majoring in the nursing department made 47 statements about the insider's accusation after an in-depth interview about the statements. Forty incumbent hospital nurses were the participants for the Q-Methodology. The statement data was analyzed with QUANL PC Program and five different types were classified according to how the nurse had replied to the statements. Result: The first one is a Propeller type. The second one is a Denial type. The third type is a Patient Advocate type. The fourth one is a Anonymous type. The fifth is a Netizen type. Conclusion: this study as a momentum, a reasonable and constitutional legislation in the nurses organization should be established as soon as possible.

Harvesting energy from acoustic vibrations of conventional and ultrasonic whistles

  • This paper experimentally investigates the feasibility of harvesting vibration energy from whistles using piezoelectric materials. The end goal of this research is to generate sufficient power from the whistle to power a small radio transmitter to relay a basic signal - for example, a distress call. First, the paper discusses the current literature in energy harvesting from acoustic resonance. Next, the concept of an active whistle is presented. Next, results from energy harvesting experiments conducted on conventional and ultrasonic whistles undergoing human-actuation and actuation by a pressure-regulated air supply are presented. The maximum power density of the conventional whistle actuated by a human at 100 dB sound pressure level is $98.1{\mu}W/cm^3$.

Intentions of Employees to Whistleblow Information Security Policy Violations in the Organization

  • Compliance with information security policies has been an important managerial concern in organizations. Unlike traditional general deterrent theory, this study proposes whistle-blowing as an alternative approach for reducing internal information security policy violations. We build on the theories of planned behavior and rational choice as well as develop a theoretical model to understand the factors that influence whistle-blowing attitudes and intention at both the organizational and individual levels. Our empirical results reveal that altruistic and egoistic concerns are involved in the development of whistle-blowing attitudes. The results not only extend our understanding of whistle-blowing motivation but also offer directions to managers in promoting internal disclosure of information security breaches.

소형선박용 기적경고신호 수신.경보시스템 개발 (Development of Whistle Signal Reception and Alert System for Small Vessel)

  • In the last 5 years, collisions of fishing vessels have recorded about 54.6% of the total marine accidents. Specially about 64.0% of these collisions were caused by navigator's negligence of watch keeping during works. The purpose of this paper is to develop vessel detecting system that is able to receive the whistle blast of other vessel and make a warning sound and light when the fishermen can not confirm the approaching another vessel on account of fishing works. It is designed to receive the whistle signal blast by a weather tight microphone. The signal is processed by analog active filter in order to enhance the SNR(Signal to noise ratio). And this microprocessor-based system is programmed to do ADC(Analog to digital converting), FFT analysis, controls of warning sound and light.

  • 본 논문에서는 스펙트럼 분석을 통해 선박 기적신호의 위상 차이를 이용한 음향수신장치의 방향탐지 알고리즘을 설계하고 분석한다. 제안하는 시스템은 한 지점에서 90도 간격의 네 방향을 향하도록 설치된 마이크로폰으로부터 기적신호를 수신한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 스펙트럼 분석을 통하여 각 수신 신호의 위상을 검출하고 인접한 2개의 마이크로폰으로부터 수신된 신호의 위상 차이를 얻음으로써 기적신호의 방향을 추정한다. 또한, 수신 신호의 도착 각도에 따라 인접한 두 수신 신호 사이의 위상 차이를 이론적으로 분석하고 DSP 칩을 이용하여 제안하는 시스템을 구현한다. 뿐만 아니라, 구현된 시스템을 이용하여 실험실 환경에서 제안하는 알고리즘의 동작을 검증한다. 실험 결과는 제안하는 방식이 기적신호의 방향을 잘 추정할 수 있음을 보여준다.
