차륜 및 차축의 변형을 고려한 차륜-레일 접촉해석 (Wheel-Rail Contact Analysis considering the Deformation of Wheel and Axle)

  • A precise evaluation of the contact position and the distribution of contact pressure in a wheel-rail interface analysis is one of the most important procedures to predict fatigue life and wear of wheel and rail. This paper presents the analysis result of finite element method(FEM) to investigate how the deformation of a wheelset, which is the assembly of wheel and axle of a railroad vehicle, affect the contact analysis of wheel and rail. 3D-FEM was used to analyze three contact models; a model with only wheel, a model with wheelset, and a model with simplified wheel and rail geometry. The analysis result of the contact position and the distribution of contact pressure are discussed. It is shown that the analysis results of a model with wheelset represent largest value with respect to contact pressure and contact stress. Furthermore, it is found that the distribution of contact pressure and the contact position is highly affected by the deformation of wheel and axle. It is concluded that the deformation of axle should be considered to evaluate the exact contact parameters in a wheel-rail contact analysis.

고속철도용 차륜과 차축의 파괴역학적 특성 (Fracture Mechanics Characteristics of Wheel and Axle For High Speed Train)

  • Railway wheel and axle is the most critical components in railway system. A wheel and axle failure can cause a derailment with its attendant loss of life and property. The service conditions of railway vehicles have become severe in recent years due to a general increase in operating speeds. Therefore, more precise evaluate of wheelset strength and safety has been desired. Fracture mechanics characteristics such as dynamic fracture toughness, fatigue threshold and charpy impact energy with respect to the tread, plate, disc hole of wheel and the surface of press fitted axle are evaluated. This paper describes the difference of fracture toughness, fatigue crack growth and fatigue threshold at the locations of wheel and axle. The results show that the dynamic fracture toughness, $K_{ID}$, is obviously lower than static fracture toughness, $K_{IC}$ and the fracture mechanics characteristics are difference to the location of wheel tread and hole.

TRIZ/CAE를 활용한 철도차량 윤축용 캡의 창의적 설계 (Creative Design of Cap for Wheel and Axle of Railway Vehicle by Using TRIZ/CAE)

  • 철도차량의 안전성을 위해 사용되는 윤축은 차량 전체 중량의 16%를 차지하는 요소로서, 철도차량의 경량화에 있어 필수적으로 연구되는 대상이다. 본 연구는 기존 윤축의 중량을 요구강도에 만족시킴과 경량화를 목적으로 창의적 문제해결이론인 TRIZ의 6SC를 적용하여 중공구조의 윤축 내부에 사용될 수 있는 캡을 설계하였고, 설계에 대한 검증을 위해 해석 툴인 ANSYS를 활용하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 캡의 재질은 SM45C이며 중공구조이다. 또한, 윤축에 요구되는 강도를 만족하기 위해 중공 윤축의 베어링 시트 부 내부에 위치한다. 본 연구를 통해 설계 및 해석된 캡을 삽입한 윤축은 전동차의 윤축에 요구되는 기준을 만족하였으며 무게는 중실축과 비교하였을 때, 약 6.75%를 감소시켰다. 윤축 강도에 대한 평가 기준은 EN13103 및 EN13104의 규격을 적용하였다. 또한, 캡을 장착한 윤축의 최대응력 및 중량에 대해 기존의 중실축, 중공축과 비교함으로써 설계에 대한 효과를 검증하였다.

  • In this study, the improvement work to reduce the steering wheel vibration of a forklift truck is performed. The forklift truck newly developed possesses a trans-axle type power train to achieve a compact and low-price design. The forklift truck is directly subjected to a high-level engine vibration through hard mounted trans-axle housing. The engine vibration shakes the whole system of the forklift truck, and then a high level local vibration of steering wheel could not be avoided. As the results, the vibration source and path mechanisms are experimentally identified and then an improvement design is proposed to minimize the steering wheel vibration.

  • The working tactor of this study, an agriculture machine, is consisted of 4 wheel driving system with gear trains and 4-type wheel steering system. Since technological regions for 4 wheel driving system and 4-type wheel steering system are some large, we divide on two studies on 4 wheel driving system and 4-type wheel steering system This study develops transmission and axle that are very important units for strong working operation because the power of tractor is largely affected by transmission and axle. Even if the development of the power train is some common technology, it is very complicated work and needs many experience know-hows. So, for new given specifications fitted to the working tractor, a kind of new agriculture machine, this study haws out processes that are development of assembly drawing and strength analysis through classical method and CAE software for all internal parts and housing cases.

  • The important factor to evaluate the running safety of a railway vehicle would be the interaction force between wheel and rail(derailment coefficient), for which is one of important factors to check the running safety of a railway vehicle that may cause a tragic accident. Element that analyze derailment coefficient is consisted of wheel load and lateral force. In this paper, studied about method that calculate vertical force(wheel load) by bending load of axle in rolling stocks.

  • In this paper, an analytical and experimental study was performed in order to determine the effects of interaction between vehicle and structure. Results presented in the paper show that analytical method including moving load effect can investigate the trend of structural response due to dynamic interaction between vehicle and structure. The wheel tracking machine fitted with 2-axle test vehicle can demonstrate more accurate dynamic interaction between vehicle and structure than the wheel tracking machine fitted without 2-axle test vehicle.

  • It is necessary to analyze the exact contact position and contact stress of the wheel-rail in order to predict damage to the wheel and rail. This study presents a wheel-rail contact analysis model that considers the deformation of the axle. When a wheel-rail contact analysis is performed using a full three-dimensional model of the wheelset and rail, the analytical model becomes very inefficient due to the increase in analysis time and cost. Therefore, modeling the element-coupling model of the wheel and rail as a three-dimensional element and the axle as a one-dimensional element is proposed. The wheel-rail contact characteristics in the proposed analysis model for straight and curved lines were analyzed and compared with the conventional three-dimensional analysis model. Considering the accuracy of the analysis results and time, the result shows that the proposed analytical model has almost the same accuracy as a full three-dimensional model, but the computational effort is significantly reduced.

조향방식 안내궤도 차량들의 주행 안정성 비교 (The Comparison of Running Performances between Various Steering-type Guideway Vehicles)

  • This paper is to study a comparison of ride stabilities for the guideway vehicle between its three primary steering types; the front-rear wheel steering type, tile independent wheel steering and the front wheel steering. A numerical model were built to investigate various factors to have an influence on the vehicular stability. It was shown that dynamic stabilities of the three types were dependent on the steering gain ratio of front wheel steering to rear. The front-rear wheel steering type was more stable for the value of positive steering gains and the shorter distance between front axle and guide link showed better stabilities. On the contrary, the independent wheel steering was more stable for the value of negative gains and the longer distance between front axle and guide link showed better stabilities. Ride characteristics of he front wheel steering seemed to be found midway. Ride behaviors due to time delay from front steering to rear were very different from steering type to type.

  • Driving performance is affected by a steering mechanism and characteristics of the ground at off-road skateboarding. In order to drive on off-road, it is necessary off-road wheel and high performance steering mechanism to adapt on various configuration of the ground. In this paper, design factors are studied to affect to steering radius such as inclination angle of a king-bolt, distance of a wheel axle, and rolling angle of a deck plate. A steering system is adhered to inclination face of the deck plate. And, inclination angle is existed between the king-bolt and the flat face of the deck plate. Therefore, the wheel axle of the steering system can be steered by control of the rolling angle of the deck plate.
