  • Objective: This study was to investigate the anti-tumor effect, safety, safety, mechanism and metabolizing enzyme of Agrimonia pilosa LEDEB (APL) in female C57B/L mouse tumor (in vivo). Method: First, to evaluate the antitumor activity of APL, we divided the mice into four groups: normal, control, APL50 (50mg/kg), and APL100 (100mg/kg). LLC-obtained American Type Culture Collection was used. LLC had been inoculated to induce tumors. To measure the anti-tumor effect of APL, we calibrated tumor size and weight. To analyze the mechanism of anti-tumor in APL, we used western blotting and to observe metabolizing enzyme in APL we used to real-time PCR. Result: APL50 and APL100 significantly inhibited tumor growth from 12 days after medicine injected. APL did not induce caspase-dependent apoptosis in LLC-bearing mouse tumor. In APL100, it decreased 41% and 71% in CYP2D22 and CYP3A11, respectively. Conclusion: These results suggest that APL has some anti-tumor effects in female C57B/L mouse tumor. APL should be used carefully with other drugs related with CYP2D22 and CYP3A11.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the organization and contents of "CheongKangEuiGam" and raise interests in study on Oriental Medicine in the 20th century. Songjae, LeeJongHyeong was a disciple of Cheongkang and published this book in 1984 by organizing the medical theory of Cheongkang, KimYoungHoon who lived in the turbulent period from the late period of Joseon to a chaotic state of Korea after the independence of Korea. Even though it is relatively recently published, it is a very important clinical book as well as historical material to look at the aspects of Oriental Medicine in the 20th century. The book contains several notable medical thoughts. First, you can look at one perspective of the 20th century Oriental Western medical study which is initiated by the introduction of Western Medicine in classification schemes and description of disease symptoms. In addition, he uses medicinal herbs such as Cyperus rotundus L., Pinellia ternate(Thunb.) Breit., Poria cocos Wolf, Angelica gigas Nakai, Cnidium officinale, and Paeonia lactiflora Pall as important items, it is found that qi and blood depressed gallbladder is considered as the main pathology of the disease. In terms of names and meaning of prescriptions, he prefers to use mild medicinal herbs rather than intense medicinal herbs. It seems that he tries to help people's lives with cheap and effective medicinal herbs.

According as conventional western medical treatment, breast cancer patient received MRM(modified radical mastectomy) and anti cancer chemotherapy. In this case report, We introduce a case of breast cancer patient who showed lung metastasis(metastatec adenocarcinoma) after MRM(modified radical mastectomy) 4 years before the diagnosis of relapse. After lung metastasis of breast cancer, the patient received 4th chemotherapy and refused to get more conventional western medical treatment including chemotherapy. After 24 month of traditional oriental medical treatment using allegen removed Rhus Verniciflua Stokes(ARV), however, the size of cancer mass decreased and the patient showed improved condition. • Phylogenetic relationship and DNA polymorphism among local populations of the Asparagus cochinchinensis have been investigated based on nuclear ribosomal DNA ITS sequences and RAPD analysis in Korea. In result, two genetically distinct groups of local populations except Geoje were recognized by the phylogenetic tree both in rDNA-ITS and RAPD. One was called 'western coast group' that includes the Buan 1, 2 and Taean and the other was 'southern coast group' that includes Haenam, Yeosu and Namhae. Thus, the geographical relationship of Asparagus cochinchinensis was two well-typified clades. These results suggest that the geographical genetic variation of Asparagus cochinchinensis is closely connected with the slow and long period of propagation via the coast in Korean Peninsula.
