The study used Cronbach' $\alpha$, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, multiple regression and path analysis for statistical analysis and applied it to 1,252 questionnaires. The results are summarized as follows: Path analysis revealed that the financial satisfaction of adolescents had a direct linear relationship with variables such as grade, sex, financial attitudes. (financial situation compared to past and financial situation compared to others) and types of spending behaviors (planned, conspicuous and excessive). Planned spending behavior was the most influential variable on financial satisfaction. Planned spending behavior had positive linear relationship with the attitude toward the past financial situation. Conspicuous spending behavior had positive linear relationships with the attitudes toward the past financial situation and the financial situation compared to others. However, it showed negative relationship with the attitude toward a future financial situation. Impulsive spending behavior had a positive relationship with the attitude toward others' financial situation. Excessive spending had a positive relationship with the attitude toward a past financial situation but showed a negative relationship to the attitude toward others' financial situation.

Using data collected from 486 Ulsan housewives, results showed each score of consumer knowledge on and attitude to environment-friendly agricultural products was the middle level, and that mean monthly expenditure on environment-friendly agricultural products was 91,193 won. A multiple regression analysis was computed and indicated that higher spending on environmentally friendly agricultural products was related to high levels of consumer knowledge, positive attitudes to environment-friendly agricultural products, higher levels of household income, being a housewife in terms of occupation position, and post-graduate education levels. Furthermore, results also implied that consumer knowledge and attitudes to environment-friendly agricultural products were of greater influences than the demographic variables in their influence over spending on environment-friendly agricultural products.

  • The study analyzes the characteristics, work stress, satisfaction and attitudes toward dementia of social care work force for dependent elders in Korea. Data were from 502 staffs including social workers, nurses, and direct care workers from 45 diverse type of nursing facilities in Busan and Daegu area. The results of the analysis indicate that they are low paid and overloaded in general. The respondents espoused highly hopeful and person-centered attitudes toward dementia and the elderly, while they showed low level of satisfaction related to work. The stress levels were higher in sub scales concerning care tasks and physical environments in work places. In addition, the results of multiple regression denote that those have higher level of satisfaction who are nurses, have no intension to quit, have more experiences of work education, and working in facilities with more frail elders. Stresses were closely related to higher level of education and the intension to quit. Person centered attitude was more often reported by those who have more elderly clients to take care of and are working in facilities with more elders who are demented and over 80. In particular, the association was consistent between higher level of job satisfaction and the person centered attitude. Several practical suggestions linked to the analysis were made including improving the welfare for staffs working in nursing facilities and providing continuous professional training and education for them particularly on person-centered care. In addition, it was emphasized to raise the morale of social care work force considering the rapidly increasing need of long term care and the important influence that care work force has on older persons' quality of life from now on.

  • Previous studies indicate that depression is strongly correlated with suicide, suggesting that individuals with higher levels of depression are more likely to commit suicide. Statistical data, however, show that depression is more prevalent among females whereas suicidal incidents are much higher among males. Using the 1st Seoul Welfare Panel Data, this study aims to examine the association between depression and suicidal attitudes and further examine whether there is gender and age difference in the relationship. Sample consists of 7,396 individuals aged 18 and over. Research questions were answered through the structural equation modeling(SEM) and multi-group SEM. The results showed that (1) depression is significantly associated with suicidal attitudes, replicating the previous findings, (2) the association was much higher among males than females, suggesting that depressed males are more vulnerable to suicide than depressed females, and (3) the gender difference was primarily caused by the group of women aged 65 and over. Based on these findings, implications for theory and practice were discussed.

In this study, the interviewees (82.3%) said normal or higher level to be satisfied with the date. • This study explores the factors that affect the lottery purchasing intentions of university students. Self-administered questionnaires were completed by 504 students attending four universities in Kwangju South Korea. The conclusions are as follows: First, approximately 43% of respondents participated in at least one lottery purchase and the frequency of lottery purchases during the last 12 months was 4.84. Gender issues were considered since almost twice as many males reported lottery purchases. Second, males were affected by attitudes toward lotteries; females were affected by past behavior, subjective norms, and attitudes toward lotteries. It was hypothesized that the attitudinal message would change behavior for male students while the accurate information and the normative message would also be effective for female students. The fact that just about half of the respondents have previously participated in gambling vis-$\grave{a}$-vis lotteries shows consumer educators that lottery purchases by youth is a social policy issue in need of systematic and scientific attention.
