원전 정상가동조건 적용 방식이 원자로 압력용기 상부헤드 관통 노즐의 용접 잔류응력에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Normal Operating Condition Analysis Method for Weld Residual Stress of CRDM Nozzle in Reactor Pressure Vessel)

  • 가압형 경수로 원자로의 압력용기 상부헤드 관통노즐 J-groove 용접부 주변에서 일차수응력부식균열(PWSCC)로 인한 냉각수 누설사례가 발생하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 PWSCC 의 주요 원인 중 하나인 용접 잔류응력을 유한요소 해석을 이용해 평가하고 원자력 발전소의 정상가동 조건을 해석에 반영하는 방법이 용접잔류응력 분포에 미치는 영향에 대한 분석을 수행하였다. 또한 반복되는 원자력 발전소의 가동 주기가 용접잔류응력 분포에 미치는 영향을 확인하여 정상가동조건에서의 정확한 용접 잔류응력을 예측할 수 있는 방법을 분석하였다.

블라스트 표면처리가 하중비전달형 십자필렛 용접이음의 피로거동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Blast Cleaning on Fatigue Behavior of Non-load-carrying Fillet Welded Cruciform Joints)

  • 강교 제작에는 강재 표면의 이물질 제거와 피복방식재료의 부착성 증대를 위하여 블라스트 표면처리가 실시되고 있다. 블라스트 표면처리는 쇼트나 그릿 등의 연마재를 압축공기로 분사하여 강재 표면에 충격을 가하는 표면처리법으로, 블라스트 처리에 의해 표면형상이 개선되고 압축잔류응력이 도입되어 용접이음의 피로수명이 향상될 것으로 예상된다. 본 연구에서는 하중비전달형 십자필렛 용접이음의 피로실험을 실시하여, 블라스트 표면처리가 용접이음의 피로거동에 미치는 영향을 실험적으로 검토하였다. 피로실험에는 용접 후 무처리 시험편(용접 그대로), 용접 후 블라스트 표면처리 한 시험편과 블라스트 처리 후 열처리에 의해 잔류응력을 제거한 시험편의 합계 3종류의 용접시험편을 대상으로 하였다. 그 결과 블라스트 표면처리에 의해 용접지단부의 곡률반경은 약 29% 증가하였으며, 용접지단부의 인장잔류응력이 제거되고 압축잔류응력이 도입되었다. 그리고 블라스트 처리에 의해 피로수명과 피로한계가 증가하였다. 피로수명은 응력범위가 낮을수록 더 크게 증가하였고, 피로한계는 약 1.5배 증가하였다.

강교 도장용 블라스트 표면처리에 의한 용접이음의 피로강도 향상 (Improving Fatigue Strength of Weld Joints by Blast Cleaning used in Painting Steel Bridge)

  • 강교 제작에는 녹, 흑피 등의 이물질 제거 및 도료의 부착성 증대를 위하여 도장 전 블라스트 표면처리가 실시되고 있지만, 이러한 강교 도장용 블라스트 처리가 용접이음의 피로강도에 미치는 영향에 대한 검토는 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 강교 제작시 사용되는 블라스트 처리조건에 의한 압축잔류응력 도입량을 정량적으로 평가하고, 압축잔류응력에 의한 용접이음의 피로강도 향상 정도를 검토하기 위하여, 먼저 국내 7개 강구조물 제작사의 블라스트 처리조건을 조사하였다. 이를 근거로 도출한 10가지의 블라스트 처리조건별 알멘스트립의 아크하이트와 강재시편의 표면조도, 경도 및 잔류응력을 측정하여, 이들 측정값과 블라스트 처리조건들과의 상관관계를 검토하여, 아크하이트 측정으로 압축잔류응력을 근사적으로 추정할 수 있음을 제시하였다. 그리고 블라스트 처리 전 후의 맞대기 용접이음의 압축잔류 응력 측정과 피로시험을 실시하여, 블라스트 처리에 의해 맞대기 용접이음부의 용접지단부에는 약 170MPa이상의 압축잔류응력이 발생하였으며, 이로 인하여 맞대기 용접이음의 피로강도는 용접부가 없는 원판 강재 이상으로 크게 향상됨을 확인하였다.

  • Inertia welding is a solid-state welding process in which butt welds in materials are made in bar and in ring form at the joint face, and energy required for welding is obtained from a rotating flywheel. The stored energy is converted to frictional heat at the interface under axial load. The quality of the welded joint depends on many parameters, including axial force, initial revolution speed and energy, amount of upset, working time, and residual stresses in the joint. Inertia welding was conducted to make the large rotor shaft for low speed marine diesel engine, alloy steel for shaft of 140mm. Due to different material characteristics, such as, thermal conductivity and flow stress, on the two sides of the weld interface, modeling is crucial in determining the optimal weld geometry and parameters. FE simulation was performed by the commercial code DEFORM-2D. A good agreement between the predicted and actual welded shape is observed. It is expected that modeling will significantly reduce the number of experimental trials needed to determine the weld parameters.

필릿 용접 공정에서 온도 분포 예측을 위한 해석적 모델 (Analytical Solution for Transient Temperature Distribution in Fillet Arc Welding)

  • This paper presents an analytical solution to predict the transient temperature distribution in fillet arc welding. The analytical solution is obtained by solving a transient three -dimensional heat conduction equation with convection boundary conditions on the surfaces of an infinite plate with finite thicknesses, and mapping an infinite plate onto the fillet weld geometry with energy equation. The electric arc heat input on fillet weld and on infinite plate is assumed to have a traveling bivariate Gaussian distribution. To check the validity of the solution, GTA and FCA welding experiments were performed under various welding conditions. The actual isotherms of the weldment cross - sections at various distances from the arc start point are compared with those of simulation result. As the result shows a satisfactory accuracy, this analytical solution can be used to predict the transient temperature distribution in the fiIIet weld of finite thickness under a moving bivariate Gaussian distributed heat source. The simplicity and short calculation time of the analytical solution provides rationales to use the analytical solution for modeling the welding control systems or for an optimization tool of welding process parameters.

펄스형 Nd:YAG 레이저를 이용한 Al의 용접 특성연구 (A study on the pure Al weldability using a pulsed Nd : YAG laser)

  • Laser welding of ASTM no. 1060 Al plate with a pulsed Nd: YAG laser of 200W average power was performed for end capping of KMRR nuclear fuel elements In this research, we performed basic welding experiments. Firstly, laser output parameters which affect laser welding parameters were studied by changing laser input parameters for effective welding of 1060 Al plates. We found that laser power density and pulse energy are important parameters for smooth bead shape. Secondly, welding parameters which affect weld width-to-depth ratio were studied by changing power density and pulse energy, shielding gas, and defocusing. We found that power density must be higher than 0.3 Mw/cm$^{2}$ pulse energy must be higer than 3 J. travel speed must not exceed 200mm/sec, laser focus must be existed beneath 2-3mm from plate surface and helium is proper shielding gas. Thirdly, we studied the weld defects of Al-1060 such as crack and porosity in lap-joint welding. We designed new welding geometry for crack free welding of Al-1060 plates, and obtained crack free weldment but with lack of fusion. However, with Ti, Zr grain refiner elements, we can weld Al plates without solidification hot crack. Finally, we studied the origin of porosity by changing shielding gas. And we found that porosity was resulted from entrapment of shielding gas by the collapsing keyhole.

용접선 자동추적시 용접전류 신호처리 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Signal Processing Method for Welding Current in Automatic Weld Seam Tracking System)

  • The horizontal fillet welding is prevalently used in heavy and ship building industries to fabricate the large scale structures. A deep understanding of the horizontal fillet welding process is restricted, because the phenomena occurring in welding are very complex and highly non-linear characteristics. To achieve the satisfactory weld bead geometry in robot welding system, the seam tracking algorithm should be reliable. The number of seam tracker was developed for arc welding automation by now. Among these seam tracker, the arc sensor is prevalently used in industrial robot welding system because of its low cost and flexibility. However, the accuracy of arc sensor would be decreased due to the electrical noise and metal transfer. In this study, the signal processing algorithm based on the neural network was implemented to enhance the reliability of measured welding current signals. Moreover, the seam tracking algorithm in conjunction with the signal processing algorithm was implemented to trace the center of weld line. It was revealed that the neural network could be effectively used to predict the welding current signal at the end of weaving.

자유표면변형을 고려한 저에너지밀도 및 고에너지밀도 레이저 용접공정 통합 해석 (A Unified Analysis of Low-Power and High-Power Density Laser Welding Processes with Evolution of Free Surface)

  • In this study, a unified numerical investigation has been performed on the evolution of weld pool and key-hole geometry during low-power and high-power density laser welding. Unsteady phase-change heat transfer and fluid flow with the surface tension are examined. The one-dimensional vaporization model is introduced to model the overheated surface temperature and recoil pressure during high-power density laser welding. It is shown that Marangoni convection in the weld pool is dominant at low-power density laser welding, and the keyhole with thin liquid layer and the hump are visible at high-power density laser welding. It is also shown that the transition from conduction welding to penetration welding fur iron plate exists when the laser power density is about $10^6W/Cm^2$.

부분용입된 하중전달 십자형 용접부의 피로강도 평가에 관한 실험적 연구 (A Experimental Study on the Fatigue Strength Evaluation of Load-Carrying Weldments with Lack of Penetration)

  • In this study, constant amplitude fatigue tests on load-carrying fillet welded specimen carried out, and fatigue strengths were evaluated. Also, an attempt is made to develop a new analytical model with more accuracy to predict the fatigue crack propagation life of fillet welded cruciform joints of SWS 490B steels containing lack of penetration defects. from the result of this study, fatigue crack growth characteristics of load-carrying fillet welded cruciform joints, containing lack of penetration defacts are found to be affected by the weld geometry and the number of weld pass.

광센서를 이용한 레이저 가공공정의 모니터링과 인장강도 예측모델 개발 (Monitoring of Laser Material Processing and Developments of Tensile Strength Estimation Model Using photodiodes)

  • In this paper, the system for monitoring process of aluminum laser welding was developed using the light signal emitted from the plasma which comes from interaction between material and laser. Photodiode for monitoring system was selected based on the spectrum analysis of light from plasma and keyhole. Behavior of plasma and keyhole was analyzed through the sensor signals. Value of sensor signal represented the light intensity and fluctuation of signal indicated the stability of plasma and keyhole. For the relation between welding condition and sensor signals, the input power and weld geometry greatly effected on the average of each sensor signals. Using the feature values of signals, estimation model for tensile strength of weld was formulated with neural network algorithm. Performance of this model was verified through coefficient of determination and average error rate.
