복합재료 압력용기의 응력해서 및 구조설계 (Stress Analysis and Structural Design of FRP Pressure Vessel)

  • Filament-Wound composite pressure vessels offer significant weight saving over the conventional metal pressure vessels. S-2 glass/epoxy pressure vessel was designed, fabricated and tested. It was considered, in the analysis that the matrix and the metal liner of FRP pressure vessel shared the internal pressure. The thicknesses of hoop and helical layers were determinded by the computer program developed for the design of FRP/Metal structural pressure vessel. The computer program increased the structural efficiency about 14% comparing with the netting analysis. The experimental measurement on the deformation by internal pressure agrees with the theoretical analysis within the accuracy of 5%.

  • In this paper, a near net shape technology using superplasticity and diffusion bonding characteristics was presented for application to various components of aircraft and missiles. Due to these special characteristics of some aerospace alloys, it is possible to produce complex components to shape very near final dimension with enhanced design freedom, reduced material usage, and overall saving of weight and cost. The high pressure vessel for a space launcher was fabricated with Ti-6Al-4V alloy by superplastic forming and diffusion bonding process and the failure characteristics are compared with conventionally fabricated vessel spin formed and TIG welded. The structural integrity of the superplastic forming and diffusion bonding process was successfully demonstrated.

  • Fluorescent lamp ballast using piezoelectric transformer were fabricated and its characteristic was investigated. Traditional electronic ballast is composed of basic blocks, which are composed of rectifier, power factor corrector and resonant inverter fluorescent lamp. The proposed electronic ballast has several advantages accordingly, traditional ballast was replaced fabricated electronic ballast using piezo electronic transformer and VCO oscillated, because of its lighter weight, high efficiency and saving energy.

  • With the onging trend of weight saving in automobiles, the application of light alloys is increasing. Recently, aluminum powder metallurgy has been the subject of renewed attention due to the combination of lightweight of aluminium and the efficient material utilisation of the powder metallurgical process, which offer attractive benefits to potential end-users. This study is to explore the use of warm compaction process to aluminium powder metallurgy. This paper presents a detailed study of the effect of warm compression and sintering conditions on the resultant microstructures and mechanical properties of Al-Cu-Mg-Si PM blend.

  • An investigation into power conditioners that interface with photovoltaic array and utilities has been completed. The rating for this investigation is residential system(3-5kVA) that interface with a 220V single phase utility connection. As the result of this investigation, a 3kVA high frequency PWM IGBT inverter feeding a high frequency isolation transformer with a sinusoidal current wave was selected. The output of the transformer rectified with a diode bridge rectifier. four IGBT, used as 60Hz switched, reverse the polarity of the rectified current on every other half cycle of the utility voltage. Even though the high frequency link system used more power semiconductors, a net size, weight, and parts cost saving result compared to the other systems due to elimination of 60Hz transformer.

Generalized Vehicle Routing Problem for Reverse Logistics Aiming at Low Carbon Transportation

  • Deployment of green transportation in reverse logistics is a key issue for low carbon technologies. To cope with such logistic innovation, this paper proposes a hybrid approach to solve practical vehicle routing problem (VRP) of pickup type that is common when considering the reverse logistics. Noticing that transportation cost depends not only on distance traveled but also on weight loaded, we propose a hierarchical procedure that can design an economically efficient reverse logistics network even when the scale of the problem becomes very large. Since environmental concerns are of growing importance in the reverse logistics field, we need to reveal some prospects that can reduce $CO_2$ emissions from the economically optimized VRP in the same framework. In order to cope with manifold circumstances, the above idea has been deployed by extending the Weber model to the generalized Weber model and to the case with an intermediate destination. Numerical experiments are carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach and to explore the prospects for future green reverse logistics.

  • Hydroforming Technology has been applied to manufacture in various parts of automobile. Especially, Exhaust manifold has been applied to hydroforming method in the foreign advanced automotive company. Exhaust manifold runner is important exhaust parts that heat-resistant and exhaust flow characteristics are requested in the automobile. The purpose of this study is to optimize the manufacturing method of exhaust maniflold runner using FEA and to propose to get a optimization design direction. In addition, Comparative analysis between conventional exhaust maniflold and hydroformed exhaust maniflold has been done in view of weight-saving, manufacturing advantage.

A Special Pre-Service-Inspection Using Radiographic Testing(RT) for Brazing Fitting Uused in Aircraft Hydraulic System

  • Brazing fitting which is one of the aircraft hydraulic power system components is widely used for saving weight and achieving higher reliability. Any inherent defects or damage of fitting can cause system failure and/or physical damage of human body due to highly pressurized fluid. Radiographic testing(RT) technique and additional micro-structure investigation on cut-away surfaces have been accomplished to find out some defect-like-inhomogeneity in the fittings. The radiography results showed that some defect-like-inhomogeneity existed inside body. Additional micro-structure investigation on cut-away surface reveals that the inhomogeneity is due to internal voids. In this study, it can be is said that RT technique can be a useful tool for field acceptance test of hydraulic brazing fitting in short time.

TB용 레이저 용접부의 피로 특성 (Fatigue Characteristics of Laser Welding Part for TB)

  • As automotive manufacturers have taken a growing more interest in tailored sheet metals for improving the rigidity, weight reduction, crash durability, and cost saving application of the tailored sheet metals to automotive bodies has been resently increased greatly. In this study, we investigated the characteristics of fatigue crack initiation behavior of laser welded sheet use for vehicle body panel. We experimented three types of specimens which were machined of the same base metal : one is 1.4㎜ thick, another is 1.6㎜ thick, the others is laser welded of the 1.4mm thick specimen and 1.6㎜ thick specimen. The results indicated that laser welded metal (1.4+1.6㎜) is the best one for fatigue strength and fatigue life.

  • Because of the social needs for energy saving and the rigid environmental regulation, the development of light materials and new economical manufacturing technologies have been actively investigated. Recently, the hydroforming of high strength aluminum tube has attracted great interest due to its good strength-to-weight ratio, which could play an important role in lightweighting of automobile. However, the limited formability of high strength aluminum alloys is considered to hinder the active application of the hydroforming process. In this paper, the hydroformability of aluminum tubes with different heat treatments was investigated as the basic research of the hydroforming process for the high strength aluminum tubes.
