다기능 보조기구와 체중부하검사 보조기구의 X선 화질 비교 (Comparison of X-ray Image Quality Between Multi-Function Device(MFD) and Weight Bearing Platforms(WBPs))

  • 본 연구의 목적은 여러 가지 하지입식검사에 적용할 수 있는 Multi-Function Device(MFD)를 제작하여 기존에 사용하던 Weight Bearing Platforms(WBPs)들과 X 선 영상의 비교를 통해 임상 활용을 제안하고자 한다. MFD는 단상(보조기구)를 이용한 Weight Bearing Foot/Ankle, Hindfoot Alignment View 검사시 X선 장치의 X선 관구의 최하 조절 높이를 고려하여 제작하였다. 그리고 Foot/Ankle Phantom으로 MFD와 WBPs에서 Weight Bearing Lateral Foot과 Hindfoot Alignment View를 검사하여 X선 영상의 해상력을 Quick MTF(modulation transfer function)프로그램으로 비교하였다. 연구결과 MFD와 WBPs에서 검사한 두 가지 영상 모두 MTF 50(50% Contrast Spatial Frequency)과 10-90%(10-90% of Maximum Energy Rise Distance) Rise의 C/P(Cycles Per Pixel)평균과 LPH(Lines Per Image Height)평균 모두 유의한 차이는 없었다(p>0.05). 연구에서 제작한 MFD는 환자의 안전과 여러 가지 검사를 복합적으로 수행 할 수 있는 유용한 보조기구로 임상 활용을 제안한다. 또한 정책적으로 보조기구의 활용을 권장한다면 전문 업체의 활성화를 돕는 길이며 의료의 질도 더욱 향상할 수 있을 것이다.

크랭크 핀의 질량관성을 고려한 엔진 베어링의 틈새 거동 연구 (Study on the Dynamic Behaviors of Engine Bearing with the Inertia Effect of Crank Pin Journal)

  • Investigation of the mass effect on the journal traces in the clearance of engine bearing has been performed for better design of mass distribution of crank system components such as crank pin, piston, con-rod, balance weight, crank throw weight, etc. as well as for better oil reaction behaviors to the applied forces from the cylinder pressures on the bearing. In this preliminary study, crank pin traces in the engine bearing clearance are computed by varying the equivalent magnitude of crank pin mass that includes the masses of crank pin, piston, con-rod. etc.. while most previous studies regarding journal traces in the bearing clearance neglect the inertia effects of crank pin mass. Although the inertia effect of pill mass is negligibly small compared to viscous force by ${\pi}bearing$ theory, it is found that it gives a great amount of influences on the journal traces in full bearing computation $(2\pi\;bearing\;theory)$ under the dynamic loading conditions.

과제지향적 접근법이 만성 뇌졸중 환자의 일어서기 동작 시 환측다리의 체중지지비율과 근활성도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Task-Oriented Approach on Weight-Bearing Distribution and Muscular Activities of the Paretic Leg During Sit-to-Stand Movement in Chronic Stroke Patients)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a task-oriented approach on weight-bearing distribution and muscular activities of the paretic leg during sit-to-stand movement in 18 chronic stroke patients. Both groups were received neurodevelopmental treatment for 30 min/day and then the experimental group ($n_1$=9) followed additional a task-oriented approach (sit-to stand training with controlled environment) and the control group ($n_2$=9) followed a passive range of motion exercise for 15 min/day, five days/week, for four weeks. Weight-bearing distribution and muscular activities of the paretic leg during sit-to-stand movement were measured before and after four weeks of training. There was significantly improved weight-bearing distribution of the paretic leg during sit-to-stand movement in the experimental group compared with that of the control group after four weeks of training (p<.05). But electromyographic activities of the quadriceps and the tibialis anterior of the paretic leg were not significantly different (p>.05). Thus, it is necessary to apply a task-oriented approach to improve the weight-bearing distribution of the paretic leg during sit-to-stand movement in chronic stroke patients.

The Effects of Weight-Bearing Exercise on Upper Extremity Activities Performance in the Female Stroke Patients

  • The purpose in the present study was to examine the effects of weight-bearing exercises on stroke patients' ability to perform upper extremity activities. Experiments were conducted with 24 female stroke patients who were randomly assigned to either a control group (CG) that performed general exercise or an experimental group that performed weight-bearing exercise (WBG). The experiments were conducted for 30 minutes per time, three times per week for six weeks. The upper extremity functions, grasping power, and the ability to manipulate the fingers were measured for both groups before the experiments and again six weeks after the beginning of the experiments. Although the scores for upper extremity functions relating to raising the arms that correspond to proximal upper extremity functions increased in both groups, the WBG showed more significant improvement. The WBG showed significant changes in grasping power compared to the CG. Based on these results, weight-bearing exercise can be effective in improving the ability to perform upper extremity movements and grasping power and thus can be used in stroke rehabilitation.

  • 경량성토공법은 성토체 자중을 감소시켜 지반의 침하를 감소시키는 공법으로 작업의 편리성 등의 이유로 적용사례가 증가하고 있다. 이와 관련하여 스티로폼은 연약지반상에 경량성토재로서 활용할 수 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 경량성토재로서 스티로폼의 사용은 응력증가를 최소화 할 수 있으며, 안정재 사용을 통하여 지지력 증대와 침하감소효과를 얻을 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 연약점성토층 상부에 경량성토재를 포설하고 모형 지지력 실험과 유한요소해석을 실시하였으며, 그 결과를 바탕으로 경량성토재로서의 지지력 특성을 평가하였다. 실험결과 일반적인 성토재 보다 폐스티로폼을 이용한 성토재가 더욱 우수한 특성을 발휘하는 것으로 나타났다.

자세이완치료를 병용한 침구치료가 급성기 족관절 염좌의 치료에 미치는 영향에 대한 임상적 연구 (A Clinical Study on Effectiveness of Acupuncture Treatment of Acute Ankle Sprain Combined with Positional Release Therapy)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic effect of acupuncture treatment of acute ankle sprain combined with positional release therapy. Methods: A prospective randomized single blind study between positional release group and knee flexed supine position group was conducted. Patients with ankle sprain within 48 hours were evaluated by Ankle injury grade chart(AIGC). In group A, positional release therapy was combined with acupuncture, whereas in group B, acupuncture was conducted in knee flexed supine position. The treatment was planned for a duration of 1 week, 3times a week. In AIGC scores, VAS, weight bearing time and weight bearing time in blind were followed up and compared. Results and Conclusion: The VAS score decreased in both group. Weight bearing time increased in group B, weight bearing time in blind increased in group A. Comparing the therapeutic effect of each group, group A had significant effectiveness in weight bearing time in blind. So we may conclude that Acupuncture treatment combined with positional release therapy is effective and recommandable at early stage of ankle sprain.

수명과 강성을 고려한 자동차용 휠 베어링의 설계 최적화 (Design Optimization for Automotive Wheel Bearings Considering Life and Stiffness)

  • Automotive wheel bearings are a critical component of vehicles that support their weight and facilitate rotation. Life and stiffness are significant performance characteristics of wheel bearings. Designing wheel bearings involves finding optimal design variables that satisfy both performances. CO2 emission reduction and fuel efficiency regulations attribute to the recent increase in design requirements for lightweight and compact automotive parts while maintaining performance. However, achieving a design that maintains performance while reducing weight poses challenges, as performance and weight are generally inversely proportional. In this study, we perform design optimization of automotive wheel bearings considering life and stiffness. We develop a program that calculates the basic rated life and modified rated life based on international standards for evaluating the life of wheel bearings. We develop a regression equation using regression analysis to address the time-consuming stiffness analysis during repetitive analysis. We perform ANOVA and main effect analyses to understand the statistical characteristics of the developed regression equation. Furthermore, we verify its reliability by comparing the predicted and test results. We perform design optimization using the developed life prediction program, stiffness regression equation and weight regression equation. We select bearing specifications and geometry as design variables, weight as the cost function, and life and stiffness as constraints. Through design optimization, we investigate the influence of design variables on the cost function and constraints by comparing the initial and optimal design values.

크랭크샤프트계의 윤활 및 마찰 특성에 미치는 밸런스 웨이트의 영향 (The Effect of Balance Weight on the Lubrication and Friction Characteristics of Crankshaft System)

  • This paper reports on the balance weight effect on the lubrication and friction characteristics of crankshaft system. To determine the main bearing loads, the crankshaft was treated as statically determinate system. Four and eight-balance weight crankshafts were considered, and minimum oil film thickness and friction loss were calculated. The main bearing loads were increased in the four-balance shaft due to the increasing of unbalanced rotating mass at No. 1 and 3 main bearing sides. The minimum oil film thickness of four-balance shaft became thinner than eight-balance, and friction loss was increased.

The Effect of Pelvic Inclination on Gait Elements and Weight Bearing of Healthy Adults

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of the static pelvic inclination and declination in the static standing position on weight bearing rate and gait elements. Fourteen healthy adults in their twenties were participated. Two groups of healthy adults were allocated in this study: above and below the average of pelvic tilt. The correlation between the pelvic inclination, weight bearing rate and gait elements were measured. There was a statistical correlation between the pelvic tilt and step. Also, there was a statistical difference when we compared anterior declination with swing period and posterior declination with step. There was an asymmetric correlation between pelvic tilt and step. However, there was no statistical difference between the groups above and below the average of pelvic tilt. This result indicates that dipper pelvic inclination doesn't affect the asymmetry of step.

Immunomodulatory effect of Tinospora cordifolia in tumor-bearing host

  • The present investigation was undertaken to study whether tumor-associated macrophages of Daltons lymphoma (DL), a spontaneous transplantable T cell lymphoma can be activated to tumoricidal state by alcoholic extract of Tinospora cordifolia (ALTC). In vivo administration of ALTC (200 mg/kg body weight) in DL-bearing mice resulted in an enhanced RNI production and an augmented cytotoxic response of tumor-associated macrophages. Earlier we had reported that DL-bearing mice show a regression of thymus and an enlargement of spleen. In vivo administration of ALTC to DL-bearing hosts resulted in a decrease in the weight of spleen and counts of splenocytes along with an increase in the weight of thymus as compared to control DL-bearing mice. In vivo administration of ALTC in DL-bearing mice also resulted in an increase in the proliferation of splenocytes/thymocytes and BMC. The results of this study indicate that the ALTC upon in vivo administration in DL-bearing shows immuno-modulatory effects and thus may have clinical significance.
