Development and Performance Evaluation of Falling-type Dried-Persimmon Weight Sorting System Utilizing Load Cell

  • Purpose: A falling-type weight sorter equipped with a load cell was developed to sort lightweight dried persimmons. The performance of the sorter was also evaluated. Methods: The electronic weight sorter for dried persimmon comprises a feeder part, a weight-measurement part, an indicator part, a carrier cup, a discharging part, and a driving part. The weight setting and zero-point adjustment are performed digitally for the convenience of users. For the experimental trials, 228 rubber-clay specimens (representative of dried persimmons) in the weight range of 24.73~99.56 g were manufactured for use in experiments to evaluate the performance of the sorter. Results: The average error of the weight measurements from three experimental trials was 1.655%, with a bias of -0.492 g, a root-mean-square error (RMSE) of ${\pm}0.808g$, and a coefficient of determination ($R^2$ ) of 0.997. Conclusions: The load-cell-based electronic dried-persimmon weight sorter developed in this study facilitates effective, precise, and convenient sorting of dried persimmons.

회전롤러식 생멸치 선별기계 성능평가 (Performance evaluation of rotating roller type raw anchovy sorting machine)

  • In the anchovy boat seine fishing boat, it is necessary to select other aquatic organisms other than live anchovies, which are the target species of catch. By making a rotating roller sorter using hydraulic pressure, the anchovy sorting amount was compared and the sorting accuracy of the rotary roller sorter, and the discharge speed of butter fish and jerry fish according to the number of roller revolutions were analyzed. The rotating roller sorter increases the weight of the sorted raw anchovy by 54%, 74% and 91.5% compared to the round bar fixed type, so it can reduce the required time by an average of 73.2%. As a result of converting the sorting accuracy to the weight of pure anchovies excluding the catch weight, the round bar fixed type was 89%; however, the average of the rotating roller sorter was 97.7%. Thus, the sorting accuracy of the rotary roller sorter was further improved by about 8.7%. The roller speed moved 7% at 300 rpm, 7.5% at 600 rpm, and 16% at 900 rpm, so butter fish were discharged overboard 10% faster than jelly fish on average. In addition, the average feed speed of butter fish and jelly fish is 1,400 mm/s when the roller rotation speed is 300 rpm, 1,480 mm/s at 600 rpm, and 1,850 mm/s at 900 rpm. A Φ58 mm roller rotates once it moved about 1.23 mm. In the future, a follow-up study of quantitative evaluation is needed targeting more non-target fish species of anchovy boat seine.

  • In this study we tried to give a decision on propriety of working conditions, to present ideas on reducing work loads. and to grope for efficiency of agricultural works. For this we examined the actual conditions of working environment, farmer's clothes, working posture, working methods, working time, resting state, fatigue recovery methods during cultivating lettuce in the winter greenhouse. And Ive improved harmful factors that affect farmer's health by considering results of previous study and farmer's subjective sensation. And we measured, compared, and analyzed the farmer's work loads before and after improvement. The results of this study are as follows ; 1. According to examine the actual conditions of cultivating lettuce in the winter greenhouse, farmers have experienced physical and mental chronic fatigue on the basis of the hot and humid crops-centered working environment, the rough ground condition, inconsistent arrangement of working stand and sorter, heavy-weared habits. and unsuitable working posture. 2. When we improved harmful factors that affect farmer's health, conformed the positive effects on important work efficiency index such as heart rate, electromyovolume, body temperature, and microclimate inside clothing and work loads were decreased by improving the hot and humid working environment, eliminating the hillock and obstacles of working path. deliver way, arranging the working stand and sorter consistantly, decreasing the clothing weight, improving the working postures and methods as using assistant appliances, alloting the working time and sequence effectively and presenting the light gymnastic exercises and rest for fatigue restoration.

When we improved harmful factors that affect farmer's health, conformed the effects on important work efficiency index such as heart rate, electromyovolume, body temperature, and microclimate inside clothing and work loads were decreased by eliminating the hillock and obstacles of ground, decreasing the clothing weight, using proper clothing appliances such as hat and sunglasses, controlling height of working stand and sorter suitably, improving the working postures and methods as using assistant appliances, alloting the working time and sequence effectively and presenting the light gymnastic exercises and rest for fatigue restoration.

  • A high-throughput sorting (HTS) system has been designed to separate target particles using a negative dielectrophoretic (n-DEP) force. The system consists of a meso-sized channel and a cantilever-type electrode(CE) array designed to separate a large number of target particles by discerning subtle difference of weight and dielectric material property of the particles. Using the polystyrene beads with various sizes of 10, 25 and $50{\mu}m$, the developed system exhibits high-throughput sorting of about 200 beads/sec and more than 80 % of separation efficiency.

Dexamethasone에 의한 흉선 Apoptosis에 대한 홍삼과 백삼 조 Saponin 분획들의 억제작용 (Inhibitory Effects of Ginseng Saponin Fractions on Dexamethasone-induced Thymus Apoptosis)

  • The present study was carried out to investigate the effects of Panax ginseng saponin extracts on the dexamethasone-induced apoptosis of mouse thymus in vivo and mouse thymocytes in vitro. The saponin fractions of red ginseng (R-SAP) and white ginseng (Wl-SAP) were provided by the Korea Ginseng & Tobacco Research Institute, and the other saponin fraction of white ginseng (W2-SAP) was extracted in our laboratory. 1. The male ICR mice (3~4 wk old; weighing 15$\pm$2 g) were given by each saponin fraction of 5 mg/kg/ day for 4 days, and at one hour after the last treatment, they were injected by deuamethasone (5 mg/kg : DX). The mouse thymus was extracted at 6 hours after DX injection, and they were stained with hematoxylin-eosin reagents and an Apop-Tag kit, respectively, and the thymocytes prepared from it were labelled with anti-mouse FITC-anti-CD4 and anti-mouse PE-anti-CD8 and then analyzed by fluorescence activated cell sorter (FACS). DX-induced reduction of thymus weight was significantly attenuated by W2- SAP but was not affected by other saponin fractions. And DX-induced apoptotic death of thymocytes, appeared in the histologic findings of the thymus, was inhibited by the saponin fractions and the order of these inhibitory potencies was R-SAP》W2-SAP>Wl-SAP. However, in respect of T cell receptors, the differentiation of thymocytes seems not to be changed by treatments with DX or/and the saponin fractions. 2. In the primary thymocyte culture, the DX-induced reduction of thymocyte MTT values was rather greater in RPMI 1640 medium of IWc fetal bovine serum (FBS) or horse serum (HS). In addition, the DX-Induced MTT reduction was significantly inhibited by R-SAP or W2-SAP, in the culture using that medium of 5% FBS or HS. But these saponin fraction did not effected the DX-induced reduction of thymocyte MTT value in primary culture of 10% FBS or 10% HS. These results suggest that R-SAP and some W-SAP fractions may protect thymocyte from stress or glucocorticoisteroid-induced death of them.

완두 전분을 첨가한 국수의 품질특성 (A study on the noodle quality made from pea starch-wheat composite flour)

  • 밀가루에 배합비를 달리하여 완두전분을 대체한 완두 전분 복합분의 제면성을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 완두 전분 첨가 복합분을 이용하여 만든 dough와 cooked dough를 rheometer를 이용하여 기계적 측정을 한 결과 hardness, springiness, gumminess는 시료간에 유의차가 없었으며 cohesiveness만이 밀이 51.6%로 가장 높아 다른 대체전분과 유의성이 있었다. (p<0.05) 국수의 조리특성중 삶은 국수의 무게 증가량은 시료간에 차이가 없었으나, 조리 손실율은 밀가루 국수가 가장 낮게 나타났고 P20이 가장 높게 나타났다. 색차계를 이용하여 색도를 측정한 결과 P30의 L값은 가장 높게 b값은 가장 낮게 나타났다. C20은 P30에 비해 L 값은 낮았으나 b값은 비슷했고 밀은 가장 낮은 L값과 가장 높은 b값을 나타내었다. 완두전분을 많이 첨가할수록 색이 밝아지고 황색도가 낮아졌다. 조리된 국수는 완두전분을 첨가했을 때 transparency가 유의적으로 높았으며 hardness에서는 유의적 차이가 없었다. P30에서는 smoothness가 유의적으로 낮게 나타났다. Stickiness, chewiness, acceptability에서는 시료간에 유의적 차이가 없었다. P20은 모든 관능적 특성에서 밀가루면과 비슷한 특성을 나타냈으며 국수를 삶았을 때 transparency가 높았다. C20은 P20, P30보다 hardness가 유의적으로 낮거나 smoothness가 높았다. 국수를 국수장국에 말아 10분간 방치한 후의 관능평가에서도 P20은 모든항목에서 P30은 aceeptablity를 제외한 모든 항목에서 W와 유의차가 없었다. 이상의 결과로 볼 패 완두 전분의 조리된 국수의 swelling 방지 효과는 기대할 수 없었으나 20% 대체한 P20이 완두 전분 첨가면으로서 적합하였다.e proportion of 1st principal component was 0.818 in ESI-flavored oil. The PCA plot was used to detect stored Elsholtzia splendens flavored oils.(앞 뒤 문맥이 안맞음. 뒤에 이어지는 글이 있는지?).철저한 위생관리가 요구되어졌다.안한다고 답한 비율은 남자가 여자보다 높게 나타났으며(p < 0.05), 저체중군의 편식율이 가장 높게 나타났다. 한편, 식사의 질에 대하여 식사를 고칠 필요가 있다고 답한 비율은 남자가 40.4%, 여자가 56.3%로 나타났으며 (p < .0.01), 다른 군에 비하여 저체중군 남자와 과체중군 여자에게서 높게 나타났다. 4. 수면 시간은 남자는 평균 6.92시간, 여자는 6.53시간으로 조사되었으며, 과체중군 남자가 가장 길었으며, 저 체중군 여자가 가장 짧은 것으로 조사되었다. 수면시간에 관해서 남녀 모두 적당하다는 비율이 가장 높았다. 한편 하루 중 노동, 운동, 휴식, 식사의 균형에 관해서 남녀 모두 가끔 그렇다고 응답한 비율이 높게 나타났으며 전혀 아니라고 응답한 비율도 모든 체형에서 24%이상으로 나타났다. 남자의 70.2%,여자의 52.3%는 운동을 하고 있는 것으로 조사되었으며(p < 0.001) 남자는 체형과 상관없이 운동을 가끔하는 비율이 가장 높았으며, 전혀 운동을 하지 않는 비율도 24% 이상으로 나타났다. 여자의 경우 운동을 항상 하고 있는 비율은 저체중군에서, 가끔 하는 비율은 과체중군에서 높게 나타났다. 자각적 건강 상태에 관하여 남녀 모두 과반수 이상이 그저 그렇다고 응답하였으며 건강하여 문제가 없다는 남자에게서, 항상 피곤하고 건강 장애가 있다는 여자에게서 높게 나타났다(p < 0.05). 항상 피곤하고 건강 장애가 있다고 응답한 경우는 과체중군 남자와 표준체중군 여자에게서
