With HTTP/1.0, a single request means a single HTTP connection so that the granular unit of dispatching is the same as real load. But with persistent HTTP connection, multiple requests may arrive on a single TCP connection. Therefore, a scheme that dispatches load at the granularity of individual requests constrains the feasible dispatching policies In this paper we propose a new connection dispatching polity for supporting HTTP/1.1 persistent connections in cluster-based Web servers. When the request of a base html file arrives, the dispatcher gets the subsequent load arriving on that connection using the embedded objects information. After the dispatcher stores the load information in Load Table, the dispatcher employs the connection aging strategy on live persistent connections on the passage of time. The results of simulation show about $1.7\%\~16.8\%$ improved average response time compared to existing WLC algorithm.

This paper describes the development of the SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system which can be controlled via the Internet. In this paper, the SCADA system is composed of a number of microprocessor-based RTU(Remote Terminal Unit)s, a MMI(Man Machine Interface) host, a SCADA server, and SCADA clients. There are two protocols used in the system. Each RTU and the MMI host are connected by a RS-485 line and CSMA/CD(Carrier Sense Multiple Access / Collision Detection) protocol is used to communicate with each other. TCP/IP(Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) is used among the MMI host, the SCADA server, and SCADA clients. The equipments installed in the field are controlled by a number of RTUs. The function of the MMI host is to acquire real-time data from RTUs and control them. The SCADA server supports data transfer between the networked MMI host and the SCADA client on the web-server through TCP/lP. Data transfer is possible regardless of the type of network only if there are TCP/lP Winsock-compatible stack driver. The SCADA client is implemented as the shape of web-page by means of JAVA language. Therefore, it runs on a web-browser such as Netscape and Explorer, and allows a number of users to access this SCADA system.

This paper presents the experimental results obtained by applying frequency-domain structural health monitoring techniques to assess the damage suffered on a special type of damper called Web Plastifying Damper (WPD). The WPD is a hysteretic type energy dissipator recently developed for the passive control of structures subjected to earthquakes. It consists of several I-section steel segments connected in parallel. The energy is dissipated through plastic deformations of the web of the I-sections, which constitute the dissipative parts of the damper. WPDs were subjected to successive histories of dynamically-imposed cyclic deformations of increasing magnitude with the shaking table of the University of Granada. To assess the damage to the web of the I-section steel segments after each history of loading, a new damage index called Area Index of Damage (AID) was obtained from simple vibration tests. The vibration signals were acquired by means of piezoelectric sensors attached on the I-sections, and non-parametric statistical methods were applied to calculate AID in terms of changes in frequency response functions. The damage index AID was correlated with another energy-based damage index -ID- which past research has proven to accurately characterize the level of mechanical damage. The ID is rooted in the decomposition of the load-displacement curve experienced by the damper into the so-called skeleton and Bauschinger parts. ID predicts the level of damage and the proximity to failure of the damper accurately, but it requires costly instrumentation. The experiments reported in this paper demonstrate a good correlation between AID and ID in a realistic seismic loading scenario consisting of dynamically applied arbitrary cyclic loads. Based on this correlation, it is possible to estimate ID indirectly from the AID, which calls for much simpler and less expensive instrumentation.
This study describes a spatial web object retrieval system using Spark, an in - memory based distributed processing system. Development of social networks has created massive amounts of spatial web objects, and retrieval and analysis of data is difficult by using exist spatial web object retrieval systems. Recently, development of distributed processing systems supports the ability to analyze and retrieve large amounts of data quickly. Therefore, a method is promoted to search a large-capacity spatial web object by using the distributed processing system. Data is processed in block units, and one of these blocks is converted to RDD and processed in Spark. Regarding the discussed method, we propose a system in which each RDD consists of spatial web object index for the included data, dividing the entire spatial region into non-overlapping spatial regions, and allocating one divided region to one RDD. We propose a system that can efficiently use the distributed processing system by dividing space and increasing efficiency of searching the divided space. Additionally by comparing QP-tree with R-tree, we confirm that the proposed system is better for searching the spatial web objects; QP-tree builds index with both spatial and words information while R-tree build index only with spatial information.
A vast amount of research has been carried out for executing compute-intensive applications on resource-constrained mobile devices. Computation offloading is a method in which heavy computations are dynamically migrated from a mobile device to a server, exploiting the powerful hardware of the server to perform complex computations. An important issue for offloading is the complexity of reconciling the execution state of applications between the server and the client. To address this issue, snapshot-based offloading has recently been proposed, which utilizes the snapshot of a web app as the portable description of the execution state. However, for web applications using the HTML5 canvas, snapshot-based offloading does not function correctly, because the snapshot cannot capture the state of the canvas. In this paper, we propose a code generation technique to save the canvas state as part of a snapshot, so that the snapshot-based offloading can be applied to web applications using the canvas.
The purposes of this study were to identify cosmetics purchasing behavior according the 20-30 year old men's lifestyle. The results were as follows; 1. The factors of men's lifestyle were sense of fashion, participation of social activities, use of web-based information, sense of androgyny, economical efficiency, provision of web-base information, sport activities, and pursuit of change, and they were segmented into a passive stagnant group, a economic web-base information utilizing group, a positive social activity participation group, and a sensitive appearance change pursuit group. 2. Passive stagnant group used less information sources patronized cosmetics specialty store, did not select their cosmetics by themselves, and spent less for their cosmetics. Economic web-base information utilizing group used information sources positively, patronized cosmetics discount store or internet shopping, and spent less for cosmetics. Positive social activity participation group patronized cosmetics specialty store or discount store, but did not select cosmetics by themselves. Sensitive appearance change pursuit group patronized department store or internet shopping for cosmetics, selected cosmetics by themselves, and spent more. 3. Passive stagnant group showed a tendency of older, less educated, and lower incomes, but economic web-base information utilizing group were among the age of 20's, lower educated, and the unmarried with average incomes. Positive social activity participation group showed a tendency of older, highly educated, and the married with jobs, but sensitive appearance change pursuit group were among the age of 20's and university students with more incomes and pocket money.

In this study, high temperature design and integrity evaluation methodology have been developed for Type 316L stainless steel air-to-sodium heat exchanger which uses 700℃ sodium as coolant. Currently the only design rules that take creep effects into consideration explicitly for the 316L stainless steel subjected to high temperature in the creep range are French RCC-MRx, where elevated temperature designs are possible around 550℃. Absent design coefficients at high temperature were determined based on the material properties newly determined in previous studies, and high-temperature design evaluation methodologies were developed based on 3D finite element analyses on the 700℃ class heat exchanger. In addition, works were conducted on the web-based design evaluation program of HITEP_RCC-MRx including incorporation of material properties and design coefficients up to 700℃. Methodologies on high temperature design evaluations on Type 316L stainless steel high-temperature heat exchanger were suggested.

The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of web-based nutrition counseling on nutrient intake and blood glucose in type ll diabetic Patients. Forty type II diabetic patients, twenty one of them were diabetic patients without complication (Ncx-DM) and nineteen of them were diabetic patients with complication (Cx-DM), participated in a web-based nutrition counseling program. At the first nutrition counseling, the patients were counselled through interview and then follow up nutrition counseling was accomplished four times during eight weeks through tile web-based internet program. Various markers of disease risk including anthropometric indices, nutrient intake and blood glucose were measured before and after the nutrition counseling. After the nutrition counseling, body mass index and waist circumference decreased in both group but did not change significantly. Fasting blood glucose significantly decreased from 153.9 mg/dL to 139.0 mg/dL (p<0.05) in NCX-DM and from 178.2 mg/dL to 128.5 mg/dL (p<0.01) in Cx-DM after the nutrition counseling. Glycosylated hemoglobin level decreased from $9.3\%$ to $8,7\%$ in Ncx-DM and significantly decreased from $9.7\%$ to $7.8\%$ (p<0.01) in Cx-DM after the nutrition counseling. In addition, total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol level significantly decreased in both group (P<0,05) after the nutrition counseling. Energy intake decreased significantly in Ncx-DM (P<0.05) and Cx-DM (p<0.01). Although the nutrient intake did not change significantly, the nutrient intake was improved after the nutrition counseling. Therefore, this study shows that the web-based nutrition counseling is effective in improving energy and nutrient intake and influences positively in blood glucose and serum lipids of the patients. In addition, these results indicate that the internet presents us with potential as a new medium for nutrition counseling in informationized society.
In Korea the study of marine heterotrophic protists started in the late 1980s, and since the early 1990s many studies have been conducted in various marine environments. In this article, studies on the distribution and abundance of protists and the biotic interactions(bacteria-protists, phytoplankton-protists) conducted in Korean coastal waters are reviewed, and a field study is reported and discussed. The field study in Masan Bay was carried out from February 2004 to November 2005 at seven selected stations representative of the bay. During the study, the mean abundance of heterotrophic bacteria and the mean concentration of chlorophyll-a were $2.1{\times}10^6\;cells\;mL^{-1}$ and $9.8{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$, respectively. Heterotrophic protists consisted of heterotrophic dinoflagellates, heterotrophic nanoflagellates(excluding dinoflagellates) and ciliates, and their abundances were means of $7.9{\times}10^4\;cells\;L^{-1}$, $1.2[\times}10^3\;cells\;mL^{-1}$, and $4.0{\times}10^4\;cells\;L^{-1}$, respectively. Generally, the chlorophyll-a concentra+CZ14tions and the abundances of heterotrophic bacteria and protists were higher in the inner zone of the bay, where there are high concentrations of organic matters, than in the middle and outer zones. Using the grazing rates of heterotrophic nanoflagellates on bacteria previously reported in this area, it can be calculated that about 69% of bacterial producton was removed by HNF grazing activity. About 24% of initial chlorophyll-a concentration was removed by microzooplankton grazing activity. In conclusion, this study suggests that in Masan Bay heterotrophic protists control the growth of bacteria and phytoplankton, and heterotrophic protists represent an important link of bacterial & microalgal biomass to higher trophic levels.

Roll-to-Roll printing process has become a great issue as a breakthrough for low cost and mass production of electronic devices such as organic thin film transistor, and etc. To print the electronic devices, multi-layer printing is essential, and high precision register control is required for this process. Unlike stop-and-repeat printing process, it is impossible to control the register in a static state since the roll-to-roll process is a continuous system. Therefore, the behavior of web such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyimide (PI) by the tensile and thermal stress generated in the roll-to-roll process as well as motor control of driven rolls has to be considered for a high precision register control. In this study, the correlation between curing temperature and thermal deformation of PET web is analyzed. Finally, it is verified experimentally that the temperature disturbance generates the more serious register error under the higher curing temperature.
