The possibility of nutrient removal during Scenedesmus sp. growth in Lake Paldang, Geongan cheon stream, and the outflow from a wastewater treatment system was examined. Scenedesmus sp. grew well in Lake Paldang water when total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) values were 1.9 and 0.02 mg $L^{-1}$, respectively, and 50% of the nutrients were removed. In Geongan cheon stream, the TN and TP was 3.0 mg $L^{-1}$ and 0.09 mg $L^{-1}$, respectively, chlorophyll-${\alpha}$ reached a maximum of 239~259 $m^{-3}$, and 50% of the nutrients were removed. In the wastewater treatment outflow, where Scenedesmus sp. already existed, the organism grew well without inoculation. Scenedesmus sp. can grow with proper inoculation and physical turbulence in natural waters, such as lake and stream water, and nutrients can be eliminated as phytoplankton growth occurs.
In order to investigate contamination of heavy metal in seawater and cultured oyster, samples were collected November 2003 to July 2004 from 12 sites (13 sites for seawater) along the coast of Tongyeong, Korea. The mean concentrations of metal in oyster tissues were as follows: 0.09 (0.01-0.3) ${\mu}g/l$ for Cd, 0.47 (0.01-1.4) ${\mu}g/l$ for Cr, 0.59 (0.2-2.3) ${\mu}g/l$ for Ni, 1.02 (0.1-4.2) ${\mu}g/l$ for Pb and 0.48 (0.01-3.9) ${\mu}g/l$ for Hg in the seawater, whereas 2.45 (0-5.47) mg/kgDW for Cd, 3.63 (0.10-12.91) mg/kgDW for Cr, 3.2 (0.01-15.73) mg/kgDW for Ni, 3.51 (0.01-6.47) mg/kgDW for Pb and 0.39 (0.004-0.74) mg/kgDW for Hg, respectively. Most metal concentration values were below the permissible range for the related regulations. Mean bioconcentration factors (BCF) for each metal were as follows: 38,964 (1,771-207, 171) for Cd, 9,583 (1,231-80, 162) for Cr, 191 (3-20, 980) for Ni, 1,416 (245-5, 207) for Pb and 180 (5-716) for Hg, respectively. The BCF values from this study corresponded to the transitional phase from the pristine to the contaminated waters. Notably, Cd showed the highest BCF, which suggest that the Pacific oyster could be utilized as a useful biomarker for Cd contamination in sea water. The multidimensional scaling analysis suggested that the metal contaminants are mainly originated from combustion of fossil fuel and accumulated to oyster through food web.
The spatial and temporal zooplankton dynamics were examined along ca. 100-km section of the middle to lower Seomjin River (without estuary dam in river mouth) and Youngsan River (with estuary dam in river mouth) systems during study periods (2004. Nov.${\sim}$2006. Aug.) based on a monthly sampling intervals. The spatial variation of zooplankton biomass at both river ecosystems was distinct. There was considerable longitudinal variation in total zooplankton abundance in Youngsan R. stretch. The increase in total zooplankton abundance were observed along the longitudinal stretch toward the estuary dam. In contrast, there were not statistically significant longitudinal differences in total zooplankton abundance in Seomjin R. stretch. In Youngsan R. stretch, average abundance of total zooplankton (average ranges: $199{\sim}817$ Ind. $L^{-1}$ at 3 sampling sites, n=20) were nearly $4{\sim}60$ fold higher than that of Seomjin R. stretch (average ranges: $12{\sim}43$ Ind. $L^{-1}$ at 4 sampling sites, n=20). Relative abundance of rotifers (over 80% of total zooplankton abundance) at the whole sampling sites in Youngsan R. stretch were Much higher than that of the Seomjin R. stretch. The most abundant rotifers were Polyarthra spp., Brachionus spp., Colurella spp., and Keratella spp. at the both river ecosystems. In Seomjin R. stretch, copepods carbon biomass sharply increased toward in river mouth (over 40% of total zooplankton carbon biomass). Average ranges of total zooplankton filtering rates for phytoplankton at both river ecosystems varied from 21.2 to 92.9 mL $L^{-1}\;D^{-1}$ in Youngsan R. stretch and from 2.1 to 2.6 mL $L^{-1}\;D^{-1}$ in Seomjin R. stretch. Considering the zooplankton filtering rates, zooplankton as grazers of phytoplankton in Youngsan R. stretch seemed to play the more important role in planktonic food web than that of the Seomjin R. stretch.

Recently, the use of deep deck plate has been increased in various structures, such as underground parking lots, logistics warehouses, because it can reduce construction periods and labor costs. In this study, a newly developed Double Deck (D-deck) plate which can leads to save story heights has been introduced, and experimental tests on a total of five D-deck plates under construction loads have been carried out to investigate their structural performance at construction stage. The loads were applied by sands and concrete to simulate the actual distributed loading conditions, and the vertical deflection of D-Deck and the horizontal deformation of web were measured and analyzed in detail. As a result, it was confirmed that all the D-decks showed very small vertical deflection of less than 5.34 mm under construction loads, which satisfies the maximum deflection limit of L / 180. In addition, the D-Deck plate was found to have a sufficient rigidity to resist construction loads in a stable manner.
Purpose: The objective of this study was to comparatively assess the bone regenerative capacity of absorbable collagen sponge (ACS), biphasic calcium phosphate block (BCP) and collagenated biphasic calcium phosphate (CBCP) loaded with a low dose of recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2). Methods: The CBCP was characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. In rabbit calvaria, four circular 8-mm-diameter defects were created and assigned to one of four groups: (1) blood-filled group (control), (2) rhBMP-2-soaked absorbable collagen sponge (0.05 mg/mL, 0.1 mL; CS group), (3) rhBMP-2-loaded BCP (BCP group), or (4) rhBMP-2-loaded CBCP (CBCP group). The animals were sacrificed either 2 weeks or 8 weeks postoperatively. Histological and histomorphometric analyses were performed. Results: The CBCP showed web-like collagen fibrils on and between particles. Greater dimensional stability was observed in the BCP and CBCP groups than in the control and the CS groups at 2 and 8 weeks. The new bone formation was significantly greater in the BCP and CBCP groups than in the control and CS groups at 2 weeks, but did not significantly differ among the four groups at 8 week. The CBCP group exhibited more new bone formation in the intergranular space and in the center of the defect compared to the BCP group at 2 weeks, but a similar histologic appearance was observed in both groups at 8 weeks. Conclusions: The dose of rhBMP-2 in the present study enhanced bone regeneration in the early healing period when loaded on BCP and CBCP in rabbit calvarial defects.

As dental implant surgery and bone grafts were widely operated in Korean dentist, many bone substitutes are commercially available, currently. For commercially used in Korea, all bone substitutes are firstly evaluated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) for safety and efficacy of the product. After being priced, classified, and registration by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA), the post-application management is obligatory for the manufacturer (or representative importer) to receive a certificate of Good Manufacturing Practice by Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. Currently, bone substitutes are broadly classified into C group (bone union and fracture fixation), T group (human tissue), L group (general and dental material) and non-insurance material group in MOHW notification No. 2018-248. Among them, bone substitutes classified as dental materials (L7) are divided as xenograft and alloplastic bone graft. The purpose of this paper is to analyze alloplastic bone substitutes of 37 products in MOHW notification No. 2018-248 and to evaluate the reference level based on the ISI Web of Knowledge, PubMed, EMBASE (1980-2019), Cochrane Database, and Google Scholar using the criteria of registered or trademarked product name.

In most hacking attacks, hackers tend to access target systems in a variety of circumvent connection methods to hide their original IP. Therefore, finding the attacker's IP(Internet Protocol) from the defender's point of view is one of important issue to recognize hackers. If an attacker uses a proxy, original IP can be obtained through a program other than web browser in attacker's computer. Unfortunately, this method has no effect on the connection through VPN(Virtual Private Network), because VPN affects all applications. In an academic domain, various IP traceback methods using network equipments such as routers have been studied, but it is very difficult to be realized due to various problems including standardization and privacy. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes a practical way to use client's network configuration temporarily until it can detect original IP. The proposed method does not only restrict usage of network, but also does not violate any privacy. We implemented and verified the proposed method in real internet with various VPN tools.
The quality growth of online education triggered by remote education platforms such as Coursera and edX has increased the demand for lifelong education through online platforms. In response, South Korea has also created various lifelong education support systems and sites in government agencies and local governments. Each support system and web sites created its own member information collection system. The systematic collection and utilization of learners' information requires an integrated member management system of each system. Therefore, the current status of member information collection of state-level lifelong education support systems was analyzed. Based on this, it distinguishes between member information that systems collect in common and information that they collect separately. It will help to bridge the items underlying the integrated membership framework.
KFDA compiles the statistical data of food poisoning outbreaks two or more persons since 2002 in Korea and release them to the public on the web. There is a gap of outbreak number between the real situation and the reports. To reduce the gap, addition of sporadic individual case of food poisoning may be one of the solution method. The statistical data of Japan where food consumption pattern is similar to Korea, were used in this study to compare the ratio and the pattern between the outbreak cases two or more persons and individual cases. By doing so, the data of Japan regarding to outbreak cases two or more persons will be comparable to that of Korea. The data of 2002 and 2003 in Japan showed that sporadic individual cases were 43.3% in the total food poisoning cases. The individual cases occurred highly in unknown places (90-92.3%) and home (6.2-8.5%) whileas the outbreaks two or more persons occurred mostly in the place of restaurants (46.6-50.l%) and inns (9.2-9.8%). The food-borne pathogens attributed to the individual cases were C. jejuni (51.9%), Salmonella spp. (35.3%), and V. parahaemolyticus (9.8%) while those to the outbreak cases two or more persons were norovirus (31.3%), Salmonella spp. (20.8%), C. jejuni (15.5%) in Japan. The data of 2002-2009 between Korea and Japan showed the outbreak case report rate was 1:1.5 based on the total population number.

User-Perceived application-level performance is a key to the adoption and success of CDMA 2000. To predict this performance in advance, a detailed end-to-end simulation model of a CDMA network was built to include application traffic characteristics, network architecture, network element details, and protocol features. We assess the user application performance when a Radio Access Network (RAN) and a Core Network (CN) adopt different transport architectures such as ATM and If. For voice Performance, we found that the vocoder bypass scenario shows 8% performance improvement over the others. For data packet performance, we found that HTTP v.1.1 shows better performance than that of HTTP v.1.0 due to the pipelining and TCP persistent connection. We also found that If transport technology is better solution for higher FER environment since the IP packet overhead is smaller than that of ATM for web browsing data traffic, while it shows opposite effect to small size voice packet in RAN architecture. Though simulation results we showed that the 3G-lX EV system gives much better packet delay performance than 3G-lX RTT, the main conclusion is that end-to-end application-level performance is affected by various elements and layers of the network and thus it must be considered in all phases of the technology evolution process.
